I'm not too fussed waiting the 4-7 day period or whatever it is. As UK stated this is about the only benefit you get from the card which I was going to say but couldn't be bothered replying to.

I'll stick to my current arrangement, it accommodates me fine and if I need instant payment/money I'll use my other card or the card that is tied to my paypal account.

I guess that is good, I also guess that if you don't have a checking account registered with paypal you can't get a debit card? My debit card from paypal works just like that. I can go to a ATM and withdraw anything i have in my pp account as cash instantly.

O and we have "wawa" convenience stores here that have no fee ATM's so i dont get charged to withdraw anything ever

Downside is if you pay upfront for a job to be done with Paypal and the other person does not complete, then theres no funds to reimburse you because they spent it the same day.

I've had a Paypal Debit Mastercard for about 5 years now. It pulls the funds directly from my Paypal Account. If I overdraw that, it will pull up to $200.00 from my bank account. I use it on any site online that I want to purchase from and doesn't accept Paypal. Of course you can go to your Paypal account and generate a one-time use card number for these purchases as well.

The debit card gives 1% cash back as well if you have an active eBay account tied to your account. I don't but some people might find that handy. Not a lot but it can help.

Sounds good Wayne, I do think though the way Paypal works in the States may be a bit different to what we get across the pond, but i guess its always been like that

It really depends on the rules applied under regulation. Paypal has gotten so that it is almost a bank here in the U.S. with all the rules and privileges that applies. Surprised they haven't taken the final steps and applied for FDIC coverage of deposits.

I do the same thing.
I don't use eBay but I created an account just for the "cash back". That 1% cash back can add up

... especially if you purchase big items such as computers, vacations, etc. :D
