Looks Very Much Like A Bullmation
|
looks like a mut to me :)
maybe a mix, but doesn't look pure to me cute looking puppy tho :) |
Shes very ill. She is so completely starved. You can see the complete outline of her entire hip area under her skin. So looks right now, are not so good.
I'm getting ready to go to the farm and cattle place and get her dewormed and see about getting her some high protein stuff. |

STOP!!! DO NOT get high protein food or any treatments until that dog is examined by a vet. Going to a new diet/high protein food could be fatal to a dog that is already sick. |
I was about to suggest not trying to stuff her with food now, just go to the vet and let them tell you what to do.
P.S.: That dog belongs to the Uglydog race :p Just kidding, it's a sweet mut :) Like one of my 2 dogs. |

Things are a little different in areas where the average pet is a billy goat. haha --------------- Added [DATE]1234309782[/DATE] at [TIME]1234309782[/TIME] --------------- UPDATE I ended up taking a walk across the street with her to the humane society and as I got there another family had just got there too. With the rest of the litter. They found the dogs in a vacant houses garage after seeing other larger dogs on the property (right down the road from me). There are 8 in all that were found. No mom or dad. The two older togs appear to be related but way older (like a different litter, the female hadnt had babies and the male hadnt dropped, so the litter didnt come from either. Long story short, I left her there for quarantine, deworming, shots, medical care and then they're going to spay her. I can adopt her in a week, after quarantine is up.. :) The lady who found the other dogs is going to adopt one of the puppies too. Happy ending. They did say shes a PURE BREED mut. LOL |
I don't see any British Bulldog in that pup. I'd agree with mutt. People generally don't leave purebred dogs to just get lost. They cost too much for that. Same with the designer mixed breeds that people are coming up with these days. Since you say that you live out in the country, I wouldn't be surprised if there some sort of coon hound in the pup. I agree with the shelter, pretty much guaranteed to be a mutt.
And switching to a high protein diet for an animal that is that malnourished can be bad for it. It's too big a shock to the system. We recently ran into a similar situation with a cat. It was eating out of my sis-in-law's compost. She started the cat on better food and then she gave the cat to us. We ended up having to take the cat to the vet for a $200 enema since she was backed up. The cat might pay off her vet bill though... One of my wife's photos of the cat is in the running for an award! :) Best wishes to you and your new pup, whenever she comes home to you! :D |

I doubt this is the case here but most likely just another abandoned dog that got ill eating garbage or whatever else was handy until it was found. |
They had so many beautiful dogs there... She said they use petfinder.com to list their adoptions and NEVER have a surplus. She says they are adopted almost instantly. They have birds that are VERY expensive, the big exotic kind. So I dont think breed has anything to do with it. The economy is making people do desperate things. If you ever find an animal yourself, look to see if you have a humane society as they will NEVER put an animal to sleep (unless chronically ill of course). Animal control will.
They have no website though they should. I have offered to build them one and host it free as a donation. Shes getting back to me to see if they already have a domain name. They need lots of cash donations and they only go on the donations from a national site. They did have a lot of chickens, ducks, rabbits, ostriches (not up for adoption) and even a donkey. They're a rescue center too, so they take non adoptable animals in too. They have turtles that are HUGE. Really is a pleasant place to visit. |
