I found the problem is :

it's case sensitive .

so you can use [twitter]vBSetup[/twitter]

but this will not work [twitter]vbsetup[/twitter]

that's why in the earlier test my status can show up , but their status won't work .

Excellent!
Thank you so much, now to let a few forum owners know about this. They've been asking for a while :)

It's sort of slowing the pages down if anyone has the twitter link in their sigs :(

ArnyVee 02-19-2009 09:11 PM

I noticed that slow down on the pages too Brandon.

Maybe we can get that tweaked?

We don't allow sigs on our forum. What about putting this in a members profile, though? That makes more sense to me anyway.

There is already a hack that does that ;)

thanks

acyk 02-25-2009 05:31 AM

yes, I am looking for the solution , too .

Which part of this slow down our website performance ?

our website -> request -> twitter -> send back-> user status -> showthread

this part slow download our performance , but I try to make an new javascript from twitter's API ,but my programing skill is too weak to make it happen.

Can anyone help us to rewrite a javascript that request user status from twitter ?

Hello acyk,
Thanks for looking into it.

It looks like to me... The it's pulling the update from twitter and that is what slows the page down.
If 4 or 5 people have the updates in their sig and the post in the same thread, it takes 6-8 seconds for the page to load.

Good luck with the progress, it's a great idea and one I've wanted for a while.

So it would be pretty easy to insert this in the template and just display it at the top of the page then ;)
