I guess its the person. Chivalry and common courtesy start with me. If others choose to pass it on then the world is a better place. If they don't then they lose out on that aspect of life. "Please", "Thank You" and "Excuse Me" are common parts of the dialog. I buy flowers or my wife at the store just because. I help people when they need help.
I am personally responsible for every action I take. I have only myself to blame or congratulate (as the case may be) on my lot in life. I also have less than $1000 credit card debt, no house payment, no car payment, pay all my bills on the 5th of the month, provide home cooked organic meals for my family except on Fridays, spend time with my kids doing silly stuff like playing Guitar Hero or watching reruns of Family Matters and so forth. When I need a job, no job is beneath me.
For your last two items, I don't wear a derby but I do wear a cowboy hat pretty religiously. I have never tried on a thong.
