I guess he saw this as a chance to advertise his own site, at the costs of the website owner.

Hi,
it`s not very polite to post the URL when the OP decided to remove it, is it? But I guess trying to hide it now is useless anyway. The cat is out of the bag.

all the best,
Sacha

I JUST showed a small screenshot of her site's previous skin, sir ! I didn't knew if it had something to do with my politeness. BTW that screenshot won't last forever, it would update in a few days.

Thank you

my goodness, i can't believe you people (incl. the admins) think this way ! Go ahead and please remove the URL if you wish. I don't mind at all.

I think that as we already have a BOTM contest and the Community Reviews, site owners are the ones to start advertising the design of their sites, not fans... i know the site may be awesome to look at, but if Michelle, or anyother owner do not want to be advertised, it's their own right.

btw, as Michelle already said to me, her site is her life... do the same with your site and it will feel like you, be like you, etc...

Oh yes, the terrible cost indeed. You guys all need to lighten up.

If I update my site and someone wants to make a thread praising it, by all means feel free.

Maybe he is lightened up? Maybe he was just doing some ole' fashioned "ball busting" and everyone else has taken it the wrong way?

I do believe if he wasn't lightened up, rather then make a post taking a little non-harmful poke at a member, he could have simply said End of discussion and closed the thread?

I agree it's not advertising, that is so stupid. I advertise every time I post, and it's allowed in the rules, yet if a thread is made on "wow this site is cool" the first thing they think is you're advertising your own forum.

I looked at it the other day and who cares whether the owner wants to advertise or not, you can't stop other websites or users from saying "hey check this out" and why would you want to? That's like saying I'm making a website that I don't want anyone to come visit.

I seen it the other day and was impressed at the flash style changer they have, I would love that modification, leave my site on like a white style always and let them see the color boxes and choose as they want.

Anyone know the owner of that site so I can contact them?

As mentioned before the Owner is Michele from vB.org. Advertising in signatures is allowed, but threads as you have said are not. Posts some times also can fall into this category.

As you can tell by the reply that no action was actually taken.

Yeah, I don't quite grasp why the link had to be removed either. You don't put stuff on the internet that you don't want found.
