There's already 2 well established Smallville communities out there. They are not just forums either and provide a one stop source for pictures, news, music, and tons of other stuff, so it would be a stiff competition.

I disagree with that, I've heard of at least three forums that are about shows which not only have had loyal members for years, but the shows themselves have been cancelled and people still talk about them. You just need a very much loyal fanbase that has a lasting interesting in the subject.

Back to the topic though, if the topic creator likes Family Guy, pick that topic. It obviously doesn't have too much competition (far less than the Simpsons) and it'll be easier to get a community that in a niche with a lot of competition.

I'm really interested in it, besides with the new release of The Cleveland Show coming shortly it'll be a huge discussion, now that we're starting soon we'll have an active member base by 2009 and people will be lining up to join & talk about the Cleveland show.
