Hostgator is pretty good for thier support and hosting. Only thing that I know of on the downside about HG is thier shared and reseller plans have a 25 continuous click feature. Which for a board with over 600 or more members is bad.

Dude, I'm a total noob. I bought the vB software, registered the domain name(through HostGator), then signed up for their Swamp Croc package.

Their service and support has been top notch! My board has been up for less than a month but has grown rapidly, and there's never even been a glitch with the server. And the support staff and community(running vB, I might add) is awesome!

I would recommend x10Hosting. They have a really friendly support and affordable package. Their servers are at The Planet and I am currently a happy cutomer ;)

My forums running on Hostsgator ands fine, the package is one of the cheapest I've found and have had no problems with downtime.

I use HostGator as well. While I don't like some of the way it's setup (which is actually due to cpanel, so not much they can do about it), the service is excellent.

In terms of full customisation, try DreamHost. If you're after a mix and are in the UK/Europe, HostGator is a good choice due to the speed.

If anyone has any questions at all about HostGator service, or using vBulletin with HostGator please send me a pm anytime. We use vBulletin for our main forums (forums.hostgator.com) and support it 100% :)

I've been with HostGator on a few different sites for over 7 months, I love them... Great support and awesome prices.

HostGator is superb, the support and speed of the servers are fantastic. Also a little tip:

When purchasing, use the coupon Jury and you get about $9 off your first purchase.
