Make sure your mysql username and mysql password are correct in the config file. If you don't know what these are supposed to be, check with your host.

If you're sure that the only thing you changed in the file is the undeletable user, then maybe the file didn't get uploaded correctly. Try re-uploading it.

config.bak won't do anything and won't hurt anything. and it just might save you if something's messed up in config.php. If you trust me (since they contain sensitive info), send me both in a PM and I'll see if I can identify what the problem is.

Now I'm getting this error...bizarre.

you keep posting problems... i told you what you need to do if you want to get this fixed right away. if not, just keep replying to everyone else trying every idea under the sun. your choice.

Where did you exactly add the "1"....also JFYI a .bak file can be downloaded directly from your server so you may want to remove it.....
