He probably got hacked?

My friend was recently keylogged and his vBulletin license was stolen. I can buy this kid's story. It was really sad with my friend because at the same time his vb got stolen, his site got hacked and his mother died from cancer (no joke). I feel bad for him so I gave him a mod spot at my site.

keylogged into his PC to get his vbulletin license? I guess that is possible.
But how would you hack his vBulletin? What version was it on

I had that happen to me once. Someone got my Gmail password once and it had my VB info in there. Thats when I learn about those little flash drives, thats where I keep stuff like that now :D

Tools.php, upload into FTP, reset account. boom.

eh welcome to my world. I find my vB designs on warez sites all the time and can't do a thing about it. Call their host, they do get shut down, but pop right back up elsewhere. :rolleyes:

somewhat true, also if they're from a country that doesn't care about copyright laws, they can get away with anything pirated... and become protected with it... Sweeden is an example country... That's why Propellorheads Reason is stolen... they're like "your member ID is what you pay for! We already know you can steal this, so this is basically what you paid for"

Kinda sucks, but somethings you can't do much about... Otherwise I would shut down the site that has a bunch of my mods and such for sale... even when they're worth nothing to begin with..
