To do the template edits myself is there a $templatename or do I have to add the whole block code to the page? :erm:

There are no templates added at all in this modification, hence there is nothing to edit.

The templates that are on the right hand side are from FlashChat itself, and you would have to alter some of the FlashChat files to sort that out, they are rendered using the Smarty templating system and not vbulletin's templating system at all.

The install went simple enough and appeared to be successful - but when I look at items under Flash Chat Admin panel in Admin CP - I see nothing but blank pages.

Any ideas?

that's wiered
gives database errors at the top of the page but it's working properly !
