What about the Tim thread... that was left open forever and both parties put their say in several times. I don't think it's fair for either party to have the last say like that...

Anyway, just something to consider... I don't really care as it doesn't concern me.

MRGTB 01-07-2007 10:59 PM

Sorry Paul, but that can't be true. I made a post there (next to last post). But at the time it was the last post. Then I went to edit it about 10 seconds later, and it was locked.

If the last reply was only a few words, yeh maybe he squeezed it in. But its a long reply with quotes from multiple people in it. No way did he squeeze that in before I tried to edit my post and found it was locked in about 10 seconds. He even quoted me in his post, so he would have had to have seen my last reply before even starting his reply.

But it doesn't matter

I've always advocated some kind of protection like itrader to protect us against those who are abusing vb.org (and ultimately make this site look bad as if they approved of the crooks)

I can see the edit log, so I know it's true. :)

I feel I should respond before this thread gets locked.

You really need to clear up on the rules cause it seems anyone whinging about getting ripped off has no say on this board.
This is not the only thread either to get shut cause its not in the interest of the board.

So upon that please vote above if you agree with me or disagree

Infact seems we may have a response - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...21#post1099921

Any complaining must be done though emails or pms - so you on your own im afraid.

The thread was locked because it contained libelous statements about my business. Untrue, harmful statements. vBulletin.org did the right thing by closing the thread but they should have removed the thread immediately. The thread that you are linking to is defamatory and it puts vBulletin.org and the administration at liability due to the fact that it hurts me and my business.

As an admin, you should equate it to the little flamer on any message board. What they said on that post is not right and it is not legal.

People are usually willing to spit out rumours at the ready. This does not make it right.

as an user: Yeah closing MY thread without letting me know any reason for doing so is annoying.....

but as an admin myself: Sometimes users don't know about all the facts and sometimes they shouldn't know ;)
So I'm closing threads too without giving any reason, don't you do the same sometimes??

Don't be annoyed, if you can't live with a closed thread, go ahead and ask a Mod (kindly !! :D), Mostly you'll get an answer and don't need to bother

Cheers

As an admin, I know full well that it is very important to realize that any community will have it's drama. But it is very important that you take care of such issues like defamation and what not - otherwise legal liabilities may arise.

Interesting, this thread has been dead for over 2 months and was buried several pages back. I assume you were searching for your username.

You felt the need to bump it as a reminder for everyone not to do business with you I guess?

nexialys 03-15-2007 03:12 AM

can you stop always complaining ?!... each time something goes wrong with your ideas, you start polls or make major flaming about the administration here...

if you are not that happy, why don't you just start your own community of coders and rule by your own guides ?!... then if a thread is going too far, you will be the one to decide to close it, and you'll see what it is to receive flames for administration tasks...

come on, ask the admins before asking everybody what they think about something you're not a single way involved.

please close and drop this thread in the garbage can... Oscar is waiting!

Considering that you are not staff here, you have no knowledge on why a thread is closed other then the reason posted by staff when closing a thread.

jagari 03-18-2007 10:14 AM

Corrupt staff for the win!
