Personally I think vBulletin should provide more meta tags by default rather than just the description and keywords.Nominate FOR MOTM!

Can you please explain.. what is the different between it and default vb meta?
Is there any way to auto add / create meta tags?

vBulletin provides only description and keywords.This hacks allows you to use way more than that

i really dont understand meta tags and seo.. is this like a poor mans vbseo or somthing completly different?

It contains descriptions of your site that search engines can read.This are the first things a search engine spider looks at.
