I'm just a bit curious as to how a coloured name will motivate someone ?

derekivey 06-13-2006 11:46 PM

I don't know, it might convince more members to become coders or designers somehow...

It's just a small perk to reward coders, IMO.

Doesn't make much sense to me. I believe it would cause confusion as to who is staff, etc in the WOL.

Also, having my name in colour wouldn't motivate me to code more, and I'd hardly consider a coloured name a perk :)

Thanks,
Alan.

how about bold, italicized or just a bit different font so that its still easy to distinguish the staff yet also easy to see the coders.

Bold is reserved for vBulletin staff from other websites such as vBulletin.com, vBulletin-Germany etc :)

not if there's a legend

The big question is, why would Coders want their name in bold/colour in the first place?

amykhar 06-16-2006 11:36 AM

The bigger question is why is this still dragging on after the board admin already responded to the request? ;)

Asked and answered, a good lawyer would say.

If you admire a coder or any member for that matter, add them to your buddy list. Then you will know exactly when they are online. This would be very little work for you as a member, as compared to surfing wol, and it would be no work for the admins that have to code features.

Your experience reading another members posts is worth more then a title. Anyone can get a title, it does not mean they can live up to it. So if you see someone making progress you think you'd like to follow, put um on your buddy list.

I find it amazing the staff wouldn't point out this feature.
