no offense buddy but your rules should be clear anyway and your mods should be vigilant and not depending on members reporting posts to you :p

No offense taken but it is not a point of your rules being clear as tbh next to no one reads rules anyhow.

The point is its like saying to someone report anything that breaks the rules but if you break the rules when reporting then you will suffer the concequences.

Hardly incentive is it, and as for mods they can not be expected to watch every thread that is made especialy on a very busy forum. I am thankful sometimes for members who point out things that we from time to time totaly miss. I have many members on my board who are happy to advise me on the legalitys of certain threads, thus helping me decide if they should be terminated or steared into another path, learn to love your members - ooooerrrrr lol

You have to balance your moderation otherwise you end up having Mods that are seen by members as Gestapo like and this in turn scares members into not wanting to post, the result is no posts and a dead forum.

I aint just picking fault I am speaking from experience IMHO when you start to impose rules on everything members do on the board then they just go elsewhere.

I am just putting my point across to stop my fellow vb'ers from making similar mistakes and being seen by thier members as 'rules for this and rules for that'.

I personaly removed the system I had in place and now welcome my members input no matter how trivial is may seem at the time, this way I have already stopped 'Iffy' threads in thier tracks before they break the rules.

well like i said this hack probally isnt for everyone, but when members reprot posts for having TYPO's or slightly large signiture images.. i take that as too trivial..

Okay this is awesome. however I have a request.

Can you make the reported post get pmed not just emailed, that would be really cool as all my staff have been asking for it.

Thanks
