v3arcade seems to improve alot since the 3.0.x version however with the licensing stuff added in v3arcade, it somehow bothers me, whether or not they guarantee a free version forever.
because i might not know that will they just shut off the hack next time if they decided not to have any free version.

With most of the advantages of ibproarcade stated previously minus the lin-built licensing component, i choose ibproarcade to better guarantee that my arcade area wont be shut off unknowingly.

I think both authors should unite and make an arcade that has both tournaments and pm challenges.

Nifty eh? It would be one helluva arcade!!!

Also, has anyone got both of them running on a single forum? Are their any conflicts that anyone knows of?

Yeah! Boofo, we know you are busy with those game releases/conversions and keeping it hush hush. Good for you and great job by the way!
Oh, to stay on topic, I am very please with ibProArcade as well and the options and layouts are what caught my eye.

It's a bit old, but my vote would be for ibP. This has got to be one of the best systems out there, and very well thought out. With ibP , well, you can have one top score per game. V3arcade? Not so.

As far as installation goes, they're both pretty good, but ibP was the only one I could get working out of the box. v3 wouldn't even save scores. They're both bugged, but that's got to be expected in free software.

My vote is definitely for ibP here ;)

IbProArcade as modified by Gemma kicks both their asses

But then again I'm biased ;)

I really prefer v3arcade as I find the interface much cleaner.
It has more features like ajax search, ajax comment... (only tournaments missing).
You can run ibproarcade games & v3arcade games and in the feature maybe also pnflashgames (or something like that).
And last but not least the great support you get.

I prefer v3arcade. I was using ibPro for months, and while I really like the features, after trying out the new v3 a couple of weeks ago, I had to switch.

Besides the better vBulletin integration, faster page loads and cleaner code with v3, a horrible bug showed itself in ibPro, and I couldn't find a way to fix it (even with the new release). When a member is playing a game, if they open up another game (in another browser tab), accumulate some points but don't finish that game, then go back to the first game and finish it, sometimes it will submit the score from the other game. So some games where 30 people have a top score of 2,500-3,000 would have one guy with a top score of 120,000 or whatever. Really sucked.

Actually.....not so. The new version of v3Arcade has an option to only have one top score per user, per game. Also new is a reverse scoring option, so the lowest score wins.

I myself am using V3 on 2 forums, it definitely has its issues, but John seems to be a good job phasing them out.

Cons:
Not a good mod if installing a board that has been modded allot already
I need to make a arcade link manually
Some new game errors

Pros:
Promising multi player
Back-wards compatible
Great use of Ajax
Great way to install new games
Great Awards and challenge system

Now I have yet to install IBP, so there could be something I am missing, but if it helps, we are planing on paying the $60 and going branding free :)
