VB Ver 3.8.7
MGC Ver. 3.2.3 clean install after removing ver 3

TIA

Screenshots added. As can be seen, in Safari & Chrome the chat box stays in a collapsed mode and scrolls off screen by a long way.

Does this mod call anything from a third party website ? I have this mod on a site that is https and users get security warnings. If I disable the chat mod the warnings cease. So I am guessing that it must have some kind of external non ssl link active ??

Moncha 03-13-2012 08:41 PM

This would be for my BF Version, When on the archive page, then using any of the options on the Navagation dropdown, they all lead to a 404 error..

NVM... Re-downloaded the package and made sure the files were current. Fixed

Osiris183 03-14-2012 03:27 AM

Looks great. I have two users testing this, both admins, with all options enabled in usergroup settings. When we type in chat, it does not update the box, so we can not see what the other wrote without hitting refresh.

Anyway to fix this?

hyperviperx99 03-14-2012 04:20 AM

Hey we're getting errors with the new download... I think there's a problem with the update. Check my site- http://www.fliprap.com - Now, I can't figure out what's wrong

Hu, I had tried it with vB3.8.7 and no problem.

The fact that it stays in collapse mode is strange, did you check whether you had modified chatbox templates ? (Unless you did a french install ?)

Do you get any javascript errors in the firefox console ?

?! At first you stated that you didn't find the option to load dojo files from google servers but there is no 4 options for that ?

You lost me, what's your exact problem !?

Remember that this thread is huge, I answer to everyone but can't remember each questions after some posts you know...

No it doesn't. What were the security warnings stating ?

Perhaps are they coming from the ajax calls that uses forum url but I guess your forum url has https in it.

Refresh is a basic in the chatbox and works since many many version, there must be something wrong either in your configuration or on your server.

If you check in the firefox console do you see any error ?

The chatbox is not visible to non registered user so I can't check your site...

Just purchased the program with the cms integration, all is working well but I cannot seem to figure out how to get it to display as a forum block. I currently have it at the top of the forum but would rather it be in a block off to the side. Am I missing a setting?

I went to the forum blocks manager and set its display order, I selected edit and it is active but I noticed the content area is blank, so obviously I need to add some code??? Just don't know what to add.

johkalhaups 03-15-2012 12:32 AM

Is there a way to flip the shoutbox around?

Like having the text at the top and the text entry box, format stuff and smilies down at the bottom.

Kinda like making it look like an IM chat window.

IE9 warns users about mixed secure and insecure content. The warnings cease when the chatbox mod is disabled.

Yes, the forum url has the https in it so I'm puzzled. This warning did not present before the last two updates.

Hi Cl?ment, I think I have narrowed down my chatbox format issue to the "/pm command: Activate the private chats in tabs" feature, if I enable it formatting goes off the rails as shown in the screencaps in my previous post. Not sure why but for now I will keep it disabled.

The blank chatbox "loading" issue appears to be related to channels, enabling a second or third channel results in the loading issue, with just the default channel it goes away. It should be noted though that with more than one channel a simple chatbox refresh will bring back the content.

Yea, I got the shouts flipped where the new ones are on the bottom but I cant seem to find the setting to flip the text input box and all that to the bottom.

I didnt even know if it was a setting or if Id have to do a template hack or something like that.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was totally overlooking the option.

alaska_av8r 03-15-2012 05:20 AM

Okay I know this is probably a feature but I am unable to find it. I can see the Bot's name is in a different color than mine.

Is is possible to change the bot's name to a different color?

Is is possible to assign specific colors to the name's of people belonging to a specific usergroup, such as moderator? Is it also possible to change the color of their chat message?

thank you

vb.org is not the place to ask questions about the paid product.
Anyways CMS integration means what it means and doesn't relate to the forum block.

Having the chatbox as a forum block is not yet implemented.

You must have something that mess with chatbox code, some non closed template or kinda.

Is that a default vb style or modified ?

Hum, I didn't try to check with multiple channels on my vB3 install, I'll give it a try.

You can change its name or the color of the chats but that all, unless you set the bot to a specific userid. In that case it takes the user name and the usergroup default username color of that user.

Well that's a vb feature, as it's integrated I didn't make it specifically for the chatbox.

For the color, you can set a default color for each usergroup yes from the admincp usergroup permissions.

Hoooo, yeah for the graphical theme there are 4 options as Dojo has 4 graphical templates.

So what's your problem with it ? The fact that text is unreadable ?
Try tundra I think it's a darker one.

I had the same thing Mike. It was all about setting up in ACP -> Usergroups -> Manage each usergrup has to be ALLOWED to view and post chats. Once set up, all those usergroups can see it.

Funny thing is, even administrators have to be setup to see and use it. I agree at least that should be automatically enabled for usergroup 6. (admins)

I still have the problem but if you get a warning message. For example, in quick succession to posting the message was supposed to come, this one can not read and so is dictated by you. Only thing I can now make even more?

This version has bug you should move to 3.2.3.

With that option set like that the clue of perhaps an issue coming from javascript is cancelled. Generally ssl error states which url is trying to be called, do you have the content of the report ?

Yesterday my website got suspended. When i asked why they said me that there was an attack to the host from my website from the url: /mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php. I thought that was what makes the chat being always connected so i downgrade it to the version 3.2.2 and no more problems. Is there any solution for this? Or its a bug with the reconnection of 3.2.3 and i should keep using 3.2.2?

Conehead555 03-19-2012 03:50 AM

Anyone know how to make:

Users in Chat [3]

That I can put anywhere, I don't want the whole statistics thing.

MrHyde 03-19-2012 11:08 AM

I've installed it on vbulletin version 3.8.7 and currently testing it with internal stuff before buying the branding free version and releasing it for all users.

Currently I have the command/action-box issue, that was reported several times in January/February in this thread. So in Firefox and Internet Explorer all the action available pressing the down-arrow-button are not working. Any ideas, where this is coming from and how to get them running?

Well that one is certainly because your text is white all over the forum.

The only possibility would be to tweak the css code.
Edit CSS Templates > mgc_cb_evo.css

Add at the bottom :
Code:

div#mgc_cb_evo_dialog_content {
color: black;
}

I am sorry but I didn't understand everything.

What did your host meant by attack ? Did he mean many calls from your site to the file mgc_cb_evo_ajax.php ? What's your refresh rate ?

In 3.2.3, I have implemented a mechanism that checks if an ajax calls timeout to refresh the chats in that case I launch a retry that could come from there but I need more info from you.

What do you mean by "being always connected" ? What do you mean by reconnection ?

I have vbseo, "vB Tournaments and Ladders", "Cyb - Advanced Forum Statistics" or "AME - The Automatic Media Embeder" and some other small PlugIns running. What is strange:

Commands/Actions/links on the forumhome and in the fullscreen-mode are not working 100%, but on the archiv-page at least the link to the users profile and link to all messages from one user are working, modify message is partly working, the others not.

Would really like to get this mod running :)

Oops

Well, I have activated
  • FullScreen-Mode
  • A 2nd channel
  • Automatic chat-reload
  • Show time in chat
  • Count Chat message in database
Bbcode, smileys and mostly all other features are off. So its really a basic version, I guess.
