So has the beta already been distributed... I'm just trying to determine if we are still waiting... or if I didn't get picked??? Thanks.
|
Hi again,
One more thing... if someone is not logged in when they try to submit a link and then log in, it redirects you to the vB forum main page. Is there a change we can make so that it take you back to the submit link page? Thanks |

Sorry guys I really don't know whats up with the development of this hack. DW has been doing a good job, I will talk to him about taking re-development of this hack again, he has many great hacks that he MUST focus on to make perfecto, it seems this is just a burden to him (hehe) |
Can I get some help with this hack? I have it installed, but am getting some errors at the top: http://www.theforumz.com/forumz/links.php
Can anybody provide me with some help? |
Which version of vb are you running?
|
I hope for an update soon.....

Has the beta already started? ......
|
I am not sure at this moment.
I know 100% that it should of been finished by now, because I left it at 95% done. Anyways I will talk to Dark_Wizard guys. |
That's cool. He asked for volunteers and said he'd pick them by PM... then I thought I saw people postng results... maybe I was confused...
|
can't wait to see it :)
|
While I'm looking forward to the new version, has anyone ever updated all the reported bugs and problems with 2.5 that I and others have mentioned? It was released, then never followed up upon beyond an attempt or two at fixes.. Any updates?
...and as I recall, 2.5 was to be the upgrade path to 3.0, so whatever happened to it? Check pages 44,45,46 in case you need a reminder. We were left hanging! :D Regards, -Jason |

Yes and it has a small bug which I'm working on...I'm working as fast as I can as I am juggling 4 hacks right now and with a heavy workload at work and home I can only get so much done in a day... |
OK, that's cool... I just didn't know you had already started the beta. I'll shut up now and wait until its ready... anxiously waiting.
|
man ... atleast some screenshots?
|
Just installed this and it's working great, thanks! I was wondering whether it would be possible to include a few extra features?
* the ability to move a link from one category to another in the admin * the ability to choose in the admin whether to add 5, 10, or 20 new links all at once * show the total number of links in a category on the main Links page * sub-categories? * the ability to "stick" links so that they appear first on the list (maybe the same for categories?) How difficult would they be to implement? |
waiting for my beta test, :) can't wait to try and help get this stable as well as use it.
Features: ? *abblity to turn on or off public adding of links, or usergroup support, and or admin only etc. *If public links turned on then admin validation for link. I don't know if this is in yet as I haven't been able to test yet, I have clean install that can run the test :) |
quick question: Is there any way to add who submited the link? The reason I ask is I have the same link sometimes porn show up to be validated and it is just getting old. I would like to know if there is a way to find out who submited the link so I can email them.
|
Kind of on the same lines, I also dont want just any kind of links not relevant to my site added and thought I had seen in this thread somewhere that Admin approval before the link was published was going to to be added.
Is this possible? If not, I guess I can simply remove the "Submit Link" options from public veiw. Thanks :) Chris |
Great script !
Will this work with VB 3 ? |

A simple work around for my needs. Chris |
OK guys, here is the final decision!
I will wrap up all bugs and coding/spelling errors in the v2 series. This would end the PRODUCTION and if it is bug-free, and is tested as working for all versions I list it as compatible with. I will close all production of the v2 series. Please note the final version of v2.5 (the latest update by me) has already some spelling fixtures and query reductions, there are only minor bugs that I wish to fix in it. About v3 We will make one for vb2 and release it immediatly, following the closure of v2 production. It will be made in a NEW THREAD posted by DRKFUSION this is because I wish to have 2 versions for the users to choose, the v3 series will eventually only be supported for vBulletin 3. |
maybe I"m missing something but I installed everything but when I go to the weblinksadmin I can't do anything. there's nothing to click or anything. just text saying
Manage Catagories ID Catagory Catagory Description Catagory Options FIND OUT HOW TO USE THIS BELOW! Instructions: To Add or Delete A Link, click the [Link] link beside a catagory, and click Add Link To Rename a catagory or edit the description click [edit] beside the Catagory name To Remove the catagory click the [remove] link beside the catagory. |
If you need beta tester please let me know,

Where can I remove your hyperlink to your webpage, nice hack, but you're competition, I don't mind your name, but a hyperlink I mind.
If not, just won't use the hack, it's nice though :) Can / where can we remove it ? |
You are not supposed to remove it, but you can repalce it with URSTUFF.com. Also its not my site anymore.
|
At the top of my link page I get these errors:
Notice: Undefined index: HTTP_POST_VARS in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forumz/global.php on line 64 Notice: Undefined index: action in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forumz/global.php on line 64 Notice: Undefined index: action in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forumz/global.php on line 67 How do I remove them? |
Which version of vBulletin are you using?
|
Also can anyone running v2.5 sucessfully please give me a link to put under demos.

To the auto of this script, please check the admin file of this script. The weblinksadmin.php files have some serious problems for the build 2.50 version and it was really annoying so I decided to use the 2.0 admin file for now since that file also work with the 2.50 build because my next option was to just uninstall this damn this until 3.0 comes out.
I hope it wont be long enough just like vbulletin 3.0 . because I hate waiting thats why I just said forget vb 3.0 , im just going to stick to 2.3.3 and keep hacking the damn thing |
bump,
whats the status on the upcoming version (that includes sub-cats) for vb 2.x ? It was being beta-tested right? How are the results so far? |
Is there a way to turn off members being able to submit sites to the database?
|
I changed "Submit A Link" into an email link and then created a 2nd link called "Admin add a link" based on the Admin CP link hack, and added that to the end of the options.
People can submit links via email and only admins will see the "Admin add a link" and can add the links to the database rather than having to go into the CP. |
