DragonByte SEO v1.4.6

Changes to Existing Features:

Member Profile URLs
  • All member profile URLs now default to values including ID variables where optional, for compatibility with foreign language forums and large forums with similar usernames

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed an issue where linking to remote files would download the full file in an attempt to set page titles for links

I have set the Anonymise External URLs setting to Yes and selected some of the forums in the excluded forums list.
But all external links are redirected. The exclusion does not seem to work.

HM666 03-13-2015 07:08 AM

I need to know how to add a custom rewrite rule to redirect the site from http://www.mydomain.com/forums to http://www.mydomain.com - we have moved the site from the forums directory into the root directory. I need EVERYTHING to permanently redirect to the root including articles, threads etc.

Looks like you are missing that file. Upload that file and the error will most likely go away.

You have not uploaded all files

I am not trying to upload.. I am trying to REMOVE.

I uninstalled via product manager, deleted those files that were still on my server. Now I get this error and cannot access my site.

ForceHSS 03-16-2015 07:34 PM

So you removed the xml first but did you also make sure you deleted all files from your ftp and removed the lines in the htaccess file as well. I would also go to admincp/Maintenance and clear system cache and run each thing in General update tools

This one you need to speak to your host about its a server issue or if you have access you will need to edit the php.ini file to allow more connections or there is a server issue your host needs to look into.

You deleted the class_core.php file. Put it back and your warning will probably go away.

Code:

RewriteRule ^/forums/?(.*) http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]
That should do it. You're going to want to place it before your DBSEO rewrite rules.

They are trying to fully remove the plugin so they do need to remove all files that came with the plugin

Looks like this was the answer! Thanks alot for the help! As of current, no further issues, db errors, and I am back into my site.

I'll go with the pro version next time around. For some reason, out of nowhere whille updating a BBCode manager tool, I hit save.. then my DB began giving errors, site began running slow.. and the DB errors continued to reference this mod.. That's the last thing I remember doing before all hell broke loose.

Thanks again.

Download the plugin again and check what files need to be removed from your ftp this way you delete all files from this plugin but it also makes sure you dont delete files from another one

I think I will go with the pro version of this mod instead of trying to work around the lite version again.

Thanks again.

Glad you got it fixed I find this one works so no need to go pro if you need help ask on the dev site they can config the settings for you at no cost if you are having problems with the rewrite rules

DragonByte SEO v1.4.7

i need your help guys !!

I changed my forum urls and now I have problems!

were previously well: http://www.worldgamez.net/f35/tutori...rldgamez-7525/
are now as follows: http://www.worldgamez.net/tutoriales...orldgamez.html

How could I redirect my old urls to new?

HM666 03-17-2015 03:04 AM

For anyone who may need to redirect from the forums directory to the root this is the correct code that worked for the site i was working on.

Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule forum/(.*) http://newsite.com/forum/$1 [R=301]

shootingtime 03-22-2015 12:03 AM

Hey guys, I am having a problem with the built-in 301 redirect of www to my non www website. This works only if the non secure version is requested.. http. My site is secured HTTPS and if someone enters https://www.mysite.com, it doesn't redirect to https://mysite.com.

Is there a setting I am missing or do I have to alter some code?

Thanks in advance!

katie hunter 03-23-2015 12:54 PM

I don't know but i never faced this issue with vbseo sitemap but with dbseo google websmater always reporting errors on the sitemap even though i have 2 sites hosted on the same server but the one uses vbseo sitemap has no issue and it is bigger sitemap and the one using dbseo is always having issues with google webmaster.

Sorry, as the last post on a page I managed to miss it. With several hundred settings, it's difficult to remember it all, so if the exact wording is found, might I suggest a partial search next time? A search for "force forum" would have yielded results :)

If I install the Light version and upgrade to Pro, is it a reinstall or is it an in-place upgrade?
