I do have one other question.
if I placed all of the 28,000 originals in one directory whilst keeping the original file naming convention, would your script import the originals to the respective categories using the information in the database? |
It would certainly be worth a try, as long as they are named the exact filename as found in the DB.

Found the answer...
If you go into "instance managment" then "edit" no sizes were set for thumb or image. set those to 150x150 and 800x600 saved and now all of.... Bonus.! |

We have a handful of users who would each need to manage a gallery of a few thousand images for the rest of the forum. Our current galleries are arranged with sub-albums. Do you have a sub-album structure? We need 4-5 levels. Thanks! |

I've written an importer to load Gallery2 structure and images into Dragonbyte Gallery. Is this of interest to anyone? I'll be loading our site up in a couple of weeks as part of our 3.8.2 to 4.2.3 upgrade.
