- Consuming points by downloading attachments ("pay" for attachments) (plugin)

This is a product right? locate at addons/extra/

lingstar 08-01-2010 01:42 PM

Good news is, I upgraded my MySql, and the product now works. Yay!

Is there a vBExperience user's guide? I confess this is my first time in working with a points system, and I'd love some starting points....

Thanks in advance,

Barbara

Please click "Mark as Installed" to get support.

Edit the Award via AdminCP and enter the UserID of the user into the manual assign field.

I entered the UserID, and when I get the award, the image doesnt even show up. It just has a "5".

Upload them as you would upload a vBulletin Addon.

Great!
There is no user guide. If you need help with a specific problem or need guide with something - please ask.

Are you using a comma , in the title/description? If yes, remove it and click on generate.

Alright I fixed that, now when I view my awards, it has this image.

http://www.btd-pro.com/forums/xperie...es/nothing.png

I have the images set in the award as this and it shows it fine.

Phalynx 08-01-2010 05:26 PM

This image is beeing shown if you have no awards or no achievements assigned.

If you need further assistance with this provide me a temporary admin account on your board.

khalled 08-01-2010 07:57 PM

what about the effect of this product on the server load

when i install it the server load increase rabidly to about 600%

Phalynx 08-01-2010 08:03 PM

As there are calculations active you need to tweak it. Some optimization tips are included in the ZIP\readme_optimization.txt

I disabled it globally and then made my own link for it. That was the only way i could get around this.

Now i have a question.
I cant give awards from the award.php?do=manage link but i can when i am logged into the ACP. I get no permissions page. Thanks.
I am obviously Admin.

Currently not supported on navbar. If you remove the permission for guests on the memberlist, guest cannot view vBExperience.

There is no award.php in vBExperience! Manage Awards can only be done via AdminCP, Experience, Manage Awards.

Uninstall or disable it until I can take a deeper look on my own testforum.

Did you tried the tipp already to do the calculation once in the night?

This really depends on your server.

Phalynx 08-02-2010 07:21 AM

vBExperience has won the third time the Mod of the Month Award! Three times nominated, three times won. Thank you all who supported me!

vidan 08-02-2010 07:46 AM

Congratulation Phalynx, i knew it.

anyone install the plugin:
Code:

- New plugin for consuming points by downloading attachments ("pay" for attachments)
can confirm that this plugin work with your board and vbexperience?

apokphp 08-02-2010 08:59 AM

I'm on a shared server. I have installed successfully. I'm trying to recount.

I can recount all options except Update Experience points.

I have about 4,500 members. I'm starting with userid 1. The default is 150 per cycle. I continue to get a sql error:

Quote:

The error is causing by "Discussion Ender". Disable it by setting the points for it to 0.

Phalynx 08-02-2010 09:39 AM

Delete all issued achievements and recount achievements.

Also, I see that your members are mostly level 100. Please import another level product to fix this. Read more about this: readme_levels.txt

vbexperience_level_6_ultra.xml should be good for you.

apokphp 08-02-2010 10:22 AM

I'll try the above. Fooling around with it myself (and before I read your 2 posts...thank you btw)...I changed it to count only active users and set the time for 60 days. I did the recount...and it's working now.

Should I leave it like that since it's working? Or should I make the changes you suggested above?

Also, I actually have around 3,500 members. Yet Experience thinks I have around 5,200 or so. Why is this?

And given that I have 3,500...are you certain that level 6 would be more suitable?

Lastly...will importing a new level simply overwrite the existing level? I don't have to do any other changes (just upload the new level)? Seems too simple.

*edit*

Now it's saying I have over 6,420 members.

...few minutes late and it's up to 6,478...

http://www.onlinedebate.net/forums/x...o=achievements

I'm looking at the "Days Registered" stats.

Phalynx 08-02-2010 10:35 AM

Please click "Mark as installed", if you are using vBExperience, thanks.

By importing another level it deletes the other one.

I'm looking at the "Days Registered" stats.

There is something wrong with the achievements. I suggest to execute "Clear all issued Achievements and Logs" and do a recount on achievements.

Attention to vBookie Users:
There is a new version of the vBookie integration. It fixes the problems by using vBExperience as a cash provider.
Please download this product and install it.

Could you help me with this achievement?

1 Hot Thread (Thread has become hot because 100 people have posted in the thread you created)

in the settings:
threads worth 20
posts worth 2

thank you. i thought i had it, but i dont think mine is right.

This will not work this way. You cannot issue an achievement to a single thread. If you want to do such an Hot Thread achievement you will have to write a plugin and do your own calculation (f.e. searching if user has a hot thread) and fill the data in a field that the achievement will read it.

RollaJedi 08-02-2010 04:06 PM

dang, i wouldnt know how to do that. I'm sure you've got to have lots of programming knowledge to do it. I'd sure like to see examples (other than the default ones) that other people have created on their own using the conditions that are included in the program (or the addon conditions too).

Sorry about that. Done! :)

Also, since installing this, I'm getting spammed with sql error messages via the automated script to my email. Same or similar sql error above (sql server timed own (or gone away)).

I don't know if all of these are caused by the error you mentioned above. But 1) I can't find the area to assign a point value for the discussion ender, 2) I've since cleared achievements/logs and recounted and the numbers have come back down dramatically (as far as # of members) so maybe that will do it. I'll keep you posted on this particular issue.

Just need to find where to modify points...

*edit* Where can I modify the value for infractions?

AdminCP, Settings, Options, Experience: Points. There you will find also the point values for infractions. A 0 disables the calculation of this. Discussion Ender needs much CPU.

GAP does not eat ressources. Just disabled that points that you don't need (set to 0). Achievements needs also more power.

apokphp 08-02-2010 08:40 PM

Found the points area, thanks. I optimized what I could (by changing point values to zero on some activities...if that does anything).

However, a few questions:

1) When do you recommend recounting the Achievements? How do you know when you should recount them?

2) Also, for the option "Limit the Award to a position in query; Use 0 for GOLD Award, 1 for Silver, etc..."...where you can select Gold, Silver or Bronze, what exactly does this mean?

3) For the "Referrals" activity...the award is not matching up with what shows in the statistics. The award winner isn't even close to being in the top 3. What's going on?

btw, thanks for the terrific support. Like others have said...it's probably the best supported mod here.

In normal case - never. This is just required if you changed something, for example added a new achievement.

How many awards did you enabled for one user? Depending on that setting it can be that a user gets another award.

It seems your server or just the SQL server is not able to handle it. I got this "server gone" error whenever MySQL reached the limit for open connections. Did you tried already to use persistent connections? ("usepconnect" in config.php)

Phalynx 08-03-2010 10:29 AM

I've updated the ZIP with the working vBookie integration.
If you want to use vBExperience as a cash system for vBookie, you need to install ZIP\extras\Addons\vBookie.xml
Existing installations can be upgraded.

No other changes have been included, so no need to update the main product.
