My apologies if this is mentioned already, I tried searching;

I'm running vb 4.0.2 and I've been happy with ESB 114. I installed the 1.3.4 version and my sidebar won't show up. It's activated, and it's not showing at the bottom either.

I've installed a fresh "out of the box" vb 4.0.2 installation on a dev server and it's the same result so I know it's not my theme or other plugins.

The default vb sidebar shows up just fine, but not ESB 1.3.4

Any ideas? And again, I've got a fresh install of vb, no other plugins or modifications added except for ESB 134.

Here are some screenshots.

I am searching for a mod that lets me show/hide sidebar based on users screen resolution.
Or, even better, have dynamic width of sidebar based on users screen resolution...
Would it be possible to ad this as a feature request ?

I would like to add ads into my sidebar, and maybe use those wide ad formats only for users with high resoluitons...

Same here. Willing to send a few bucks your way if you port it to 4.1, pretty please.

btlewand 12-16-2010 02:08 AM

So what's not working for 4.1? The posts seem to say it works for some and not for others. I'm not upgrading until this issue is resolved.

dannycutts 12-16-2010 06:41 AM

Profile page still has errors, wont display the background all the way down and the sidebar is at the bottom of the page :-(

amjadz4 12-17-2010 05:25 PM

This mod needs update for 4.1 !!

Please update this mod. It looks like a disaster on the profile page

tocheli 12-19-2010 07:29 PM

have same problem, sidebar is on the bottom :(

almannai 12-20-2010 04:14 PM

This mod will be updated to 1.4.1 version soon (hopefully before the end of 2010)

From now on the last two digits of mod version will represent vb version

so the next update is for vb4.1

hiker 12-20-2010 09:43 PM

Can somebody please answer my question, is the latest version 1.3.4 working on vb 4.0.2?

Pls check it by yourself, just import product, if it doesnt work then uninstall it :)

jdmst 12-21-2010 03:48 AM

Guys I got this working in 4.0.8 using the hack on posts 656

BUT

On the homepage the sidebar block is perfectly aligned but on every other section of the forum it's a bit high up and too close to the numerical page numbers. If I use sidebar.css to drop the sidebar block a little on every other section of the forum it unfortunately drops the block on the homepage (which makes the homepage sidebar out of line). IE: CSS is connected.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any pointers.

On my forum this mode show right side bar at bottom of each page, How can I solve this issue.

RichieBoy67 12-22-2010 11:03 AM

Try reading the instructions on the mod release at the top of the page..It explains all of that there..

I don't believe this mod works with VB4.1 so that could the problem if you are using it...Otherwise it is most likely due to custom templates etc...Read the top of the page where the release is.. you will find it all there..

I have, multiple times. I would just like to know if it was meant to work on 4.0.2

tocheli 12-22-2010 04:52 PM

it works on 4.0.2!

Are you guys even reading the instructions?? Do you have custom templates? It should work with your version. You may have to take a couple extra steps as the author mentioned in his instructions..

Not every mod is as simple as installing a plug in...would be nice though.. :)

Alfil 12-22-2010 10:35 PM

not works vBulletin 4.1.0 Patch Level 2, I tried disabled all others mods but the sidebar only show ok on forum home, on other pages show at the bottom of the pages. Uninstalling now waiting for a new version, great mod.

Yes, this mod is not updated for 4.1 yet.. It should be ready by the end of the year as per the authors post..

Thanks

mccollin 12-23-2010 06:15 PM

Looking forward to the version for vb 4.1... have a site upgrade that we need the sidebar everywhere, and this looks a lot better than trying to do something custom in the skin.

asylum119 12-24-2010 03:44 AM

Will mark installed when it works with 4.1

morrow 12-24-2010 03:37 PM

What doesn't work on 4.1 P2? I'm using it and the only issue I have is with my forumdisplay icons not being properly aligned. Other than that, it works fine.

I tried it on a fresh install, no plugins, default template, right out of the box. Here is my post from :https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=721

So, as tocheli says, it works on 4.0.2 but is this the 1.3.4 version?

SNATCH3R 12-25-2010 08:29 AM

When will the updated version will be relased which can support 4.0.8 and higher.....currently I had disabled the mod from my site..as the sidebar is appearing misaligned and appears at the bottom the page.....

mccollin 12-25-2010 07:31 PM

Just looking at this with firebug... it looks like there is some additional CSS that is not getting called in the content_container and content divs. The CSS that is not getting called is the #content_container CSS. If you disable this CSS in the forum home with sidebar, it makes the sidebar act exactly like the way the broken sidebar everywhere is doing now. I am not sure how to fix it because that CSS doesn't appear in the XML file anywhere. If anyone following this is good with CSS, maybe you can suggest how we can patch it until the developer comes in with a new release.

I'm pretty much ready to go live with upgrading my forum to vb 4, and really need this before I can proceed to maintain my existing ads that are already bought.

DefenceTalk 12-27-2010 01:20 AM

Thanks for the plugin!

Two questions:

How do I include php code or php file in the sidebar?

And can I use conditionals?

I upgraded one of my forums to 4.1 and looking for a solution to those two issues.

Thank you.

maryx 12-27-2010 05:14 PM

I use Everywhere Sidebar, a great, great mod. It works perfectly except for one thing - it does not display correctly on the forumdisplay pages. Instead of appearing on the right side it appears below the page data.

Anyone have a clue as to how to fix this?
Thanks!!

mccollin 12-27-2010 08:22 PM

Did you read the thread? The last page of posts explain the answer to your question. This mod is broken in vb 4.1 and the developer said they were planning a new release by the end of the year to fix it.

My bad! But I run 4.08.

I am thinking that this authors comment would help me, but I am a novice at this, and don't understand what to do with this information. Can anyone tell me specifically what to do here? Exactly what and where do I need to put something in forumdisplay in order to get the sidebar to show up on the side.
Thanks!!!!

Most asked question:

Q:I've installed your sidebar mod and it works fine except on the forumhome! The sidebar is showing at the bottom of the page. Any idea how to fix it?

A:It is either due to one of these:
1. you are using a custom style that is changing the forumhome look.
2. You are using another mod that is changing the content of froumhome before this ESB.

ESB needs to see this in forumhome
PHP Code:
<div id="pagetitle">
So to fix this problem you either need to make sure that
PHP Code:
<div id="pagetitle">
exist in the correct location or change ESB forumhome plugin to search for a new phrase.

mccollin 12-27-2010 09:04 PM

Actually, my bad... I was wrong and apparently didn't read those questions. The plug in is exhibiting the behaviour you describe with 4.1 everywhere, so that is what I thought you were referring to. Hopefully someone can help you find a solution.

VBUsers 12-29-2010 05:34 AM

Im looking to display images from the albums like this mod

Zweeper 12-29-2010 02:05 PM

amjadz4 12-29-2010 05:19 PM

DefenceTalk 12-29-2010 05:31 PM

It does work with 4.1...

Whats not included in the lite version?

mccollin 12-29-2010 05:37 PM

Looks like it doesn't include the Thread Display... also the Calendar isn't working for me, but the other Forum pages are working... nice. I'm on 4.1PL2

demonfatal 12-29-2010 06:07 PM
