Remove Zoints SEO?

Factory Ten 11-03-2006 03:12 PM

The install instructions on this are a little vague. Can someone tell me where exactly I'm supposed to upload all of the files?

The Forum files go into your forum.

The Groups is it's own folder. So it can either go in your forum folder as Groups or parallel to your forum.

ie /forums/groups or

../forums
../groups

Rebuild Bitfields ?

Thanks. I'm still running into the Permission Denied error. I just uploaded another Product and I can access that one thru the Usergroups. I can't figure out why I can't access GRPS though. :(

I have the various admincp files loaded into the forums/admincp directory.

On a whim, I checked out one of the GRPS admin files. I has a line like this: require_once('./includes/functions_databuild.php');

Now this file is in my forums/admincp/ directory. Yet inside that directory there is no includes/ folder, nor a function_databuild.php file anywhere. However if I go up a level, then there IS an includes/function_databuild.php direction. So what's going on? Does that line need to be changed to ../includes/functions_databuild.php?

Edit: Just to be sure I ran stuff from the tools.php script, but it had no effect. :(

Exitilus 11-03-2006 07:36 PM

Hmm..... Do what I do when I have problems. Go through the installation again step by step. I usually find I screwed up somewhere.

Also make sure you didn't upload the groups files IN the forum directory. All the group files need to be in there own directory / folder.

Yeah I've reinstalled twice now. I've gotten a little bit further (in that now I at least get a permission denied message instead of a PHP error.) I've verified that all the group files are in their own directory: www.mysite.com/groups and the forums are in their own: www.mysite.com/forums.

The grps_* files are in the forums/admincp folder as well. Hmm....I do wish the readme that came with this hack had more specific instructions on installing it.

Exitilus 11-03-2006 09:25 PM

What is this set too.

groups/include/config_grps.php

chdir("/home/.kishi/factoryten/factoryten.org/forums/");

When I changed it to that from ../forums/ it quit giving me PHP errors and gave me the Permission Denied error. So I am making progress, slowly! :)

Exitilus 11-03-2006 09:29 PM

When you say "permission" denied do you mean the Vbulletin one ?

Yes. I've attached a screenshot showing what I see when I go to www.foo.com/groups

nexus851 11-03-2006 11:15 PM

Before i install, will this conflict using Zoints SEO?

i rather know now before i spend hours debugging =P

If not, will the next version (2.02) make it compatible with vb or Zoints SEO?????

bo0oost 11-04-2006 12:15 AM

Everything looks to be working ok... even with changing the urls, and styles, some images refuse to work. I'll fix these manually. On to other things:

1) The main description says:

Last edited by admin : 11-04-2006 at 02:02 AM

How do I make it so this does not show?

2) How can a user set his own group picture?

Turn the group photo off then use BB Code to display your own.

You *should* have a option under Usergroups (each usergroup) to set the permissions.

Yeah. I should. But I don't. All the other hacks I've installed display one. Just not GRPS. Weird, eh? When you installed yours did you have to change any of the .php files aside from the config?

Hmm Odd ...

Try this

http://www.yourdomain.com/admincp/in...buildbitfields

Factory Ten 11-04-2006 01:23 PM

I ran that, and it rebuilt some stuff. There's some info from other mods that's now available but nothing for GRPS. :(

Let me ask you this: if I'm running my groups/ directory parallel to my forums/ directory, is the only file that I need to change my groups/includes/config_grps.php file?

Exitilus 11-04-2006 04:00 PM

Should be. That's all I changed.

Now you ran the installation file right ?

Factory Ten 11-04-2006 05:12 PM

Yup. I even dropped the tables and reran the installation file to recreate the MySQL database. Hmm....

Exitilus 11-04-2006 08:01 PM

The only thing I can think of is you have some sort of Plugin causing the problem. Obviously I'm not the Dev here just figured I'd answer if I had any idea of what is going on (So hopefully i'm not stepping on his toes).

bo0oost 11-04-2006 08:26 PM

Trying to figure out how to automatically set the group leader avatar to 100 width. I was able to find the template to change for the members, but not the group leader. Anyone know which one to change?

Also, if someone logs out in the groups, it returns a blank page. Is something set incorrectly?

Thanks!

bo0oost 11-04-2006 10:47 PM

One more question...

I have everything in /groups/ for the navbar, automatically replace /forums/ with http://yoursite.com/forums

Do you know why it's doing this? I tried the find/replace options, and also playing around with the chdir("../forums/"); but it didn't fix it.

Other than that, works great... thanks!

bo0oost 11-04-2006 10:58 PM

BTW, I can't get the postbit info to show up either.

Is there a mod for this for their profiles?

This doesn't help me at all, it still doesn't work...

Any suggestions?

TheBlacki 11-05-2006 01:18 AM

I have problems with viewthread.php

Have any of you any clue how I can overwork it?

Thx

TheBlacki 11-05-2006 09:55 AM

I found some part solution for Zoints SEO.

You go to groups/includes/config_grps.php

and then you add at the end:

define('VBA_PORTAL', true);

The Zoints Parser Pluging is now not anymore going to replace the URLs.

But I still working on a solution. Maybe someone has any idea?
Because the links in the templates are still replaced by Zoints Seo!

Thx

Melissa Miller 11-05-2006 02:45 PM

Yes Sabre!
That Gallery would be great. :) :) :)
The need for attachments is, if you are having a discussion in a group, sometimes you want to illustrate your point with a photo. Like you just did w/ me.

Well this was the first plugin I tried to install. I think I'm going to reinstall one more time and see what happens.

Factory Ten 11-05-2006 04:13 PM

Ok. I reinstalled it again and now stuff is appearing in the Usergroups options. Perhaps before I'd missed a file or something but it seems to be working now. Thanks. :)

Edit: Some of the images aren't showing up, though. The groups-related images do, but the ones from vBulletin (like my logo and whatnot) aren't.

Edit edit: I'm getting an error message when I go into the Usergroup Manager:

I understand that some users are feeling very neglected and i apologise for that, rest assured that with the moments that present themselves the opportunities i am indeed working hard on GRPS. sadly what i've been doing since the last update will go unnoticed by most as it was a matter of cleaning PHP errors caused by the product. this is in preparation of taking the product forward as much as possible, not that there are any firm plans. At the moment however i'm busy fully phrasing the thing, i am hoping to have it fully phrased and released by tomorrow afternoon. Again i apologise due to the fact that as a cause of all this i haven't been very active in this thread or able to provide support. Please note that if i had the time, i would be here so Private Messaging me or Instant Messaging me in the absence of a donation is a little much, while i'm good natured and will help if i can, i really hope etiquette will suppress the requests of private assistance in lieu of no financial incentive. Of course, i will read through this thread before release and curb all the issues possible making sure to fold all fixes into the next release, that goes without question.

Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate your assistance and good luck on that.

I'm intending on making your product a public release on myetalk.com very soon :)

(once you answer this question :p)

When I try to edit a group I add the group name in ACP and get redirected to a blank blue page?

Any ideas?

You need to enter the group ID, not name.

Is there anyway you can have it redirect back to the edit groups (after a group edit) instead of redirecting back to edit category? same as delete group, it redirects back to delete category instead of delete group....

Also, are admins not supposed to see what the groups are posting/or post without asking to be a member??

evenmonkeys 11-07-2006 07:58 PM

I'm having quite a few problems with getting this to work. The first problem I'm having it that none of the images are showing up that require css. Instead of showing as http://website.com/images/whatever.gif it's showing as http://website Groups.com/images/whatever.gif. I can't find where it's replacing that at. >_< The other problem is that my navbar is showing no images whatsoever. I'm assuming that's because of the css... but yeah. Oh yeah. The groups that are in the three columns won't center align either. AHHH!

Help me. I'm going to cry soon.
