By the way Cybernetec, your hack provides 11 different statistics, what if one want to show them all?

Why you allow maximum 7 statistics to be shown?

Please add one more Row.

pspcrazy 04-11-2007 02:49 PM

It seems that the new version of this hack 5.0 crashes servers by putting a heavy load on the site. At least it does this for big sites. Disabled until this problem is solved.

voter 04-11-2007 02:50 PM

In addition, to those who would like to switch off Latest Posts by editing Template: cyb_topstats_stats, don't forgot to change colspan <td class="tcat" colspan="4"> to <td class="tcat" colspan="3"> in case of switching off Latest Posts like I suggest in post 673.

Removed to save space vertically.

Mouse-over anything in the Stats table and it will tell you what you are looking at.

I see no reason to enable them all.

Some forums have disabled Reputation and of course they will never need stats for it.
Some forums has no MySQL 4.0.4 and they can't use Top Thread Starters.
Some forums has no "Post Thanks" hack and they will never enable stats for it.
Some forums has no "News" forum and they will never enable this column.
Some admins simply wan't to show all statistics.
Some admins will never enable all stats because it means 11 new queries.

And no one asked for help to enable all stats which means that probably no one need it all.

007 04-11-2007 04:55 PM

This hack still shows threads in private forums in the most popular threads areas to people who cannot see them. I logged out and viewed my forum as a guest and sure enough I could still see links to these threads.

Will this be fixed?

aberg 04-11-2007 06:27 PM

If users choose to turnoff the Advanced Forum Statistics they can't get it turnon.
So back to version 4.9 and wait for the fix for this issue

Mattikana 04-11-2007 06:43 PM

I like the new layout, the old layout was not compatible with the Kirsch style.

Anyway, when I set "Number of results to show in Main Top Stats box" to 10 it still displays 5 as default on the stats page.

Neal-UK 04-11-2007 08:31 PM

When a member, including myself, turn this off, they / me have no way to turn it back on without clearing cookies, which I can't afford to do on my home computer at the moment.

How can I choose which forums are the ones for the latest news? I'm getting new posts showing in the latest news and latest threads / post columns.

By they way, I do like what you have done here. Very clever and very, very useful!

Bump on this one..

I'd really like to use this hack.. You stated in your 3.5 thread, that this version works for 3.5.x.. But it doesn't display the options correctly.

theres a option to keep certain forums from showing up in the stats...

KoC 04-11-2007 11:58 PM

The old version is better

aacircle 04-12-2007 12:14 AM

Great update! Love the new layout too with the rows. Thanks a million.

That doesn't solve usergroup permissions. Blocking out a forum ID disables every usergroup from viewing the thread title. Doesn't make much sense that way, does it? Check the CMPS Recent Threads hack - ideally, that's the way this hack should work. It shows recent thread titles based on usergroup permissions.

itsblack 04-12-2007 12:30 AM

I would like to say, that the new element in 5.0 version is inspiriting. But it lost much flexibility. And it is also not stable. So I, same as many other people, would like to chose to stay at 4.9.

That's not means cyber's work is going down, no no no, that's not true. I think most of us admire cyber and his great mods. It just need time to make the new version better. So we should keep patient and give cyber time to do that. Complaint means nothing.

ive been saying this for a while...i get all weird text where the selections should be....damn shame as well as this is one hell of a hack to use...

Valter 04-12-2007 09:43 AM

I didn't know that vBulletin Team hasn't implemented yet this way of constructing settings in 3.5.x. I'll see what I can do.

The Finman 04-14-2007 06:17 AM

Hi Cyb,

I've been a fan & user since last September.

I like the new choices and I've moved my stats from the bottom to just under the nav bar. I use only the first two columns (should that be rows?), with the third column(?) being disabled.

I would really like to add our number of members from "What's Going On?" from down below to it. Maybe you could add the choice of "What's Going On" numbers/features for those like me that would like to have them atop with the Cyb Top Stats?

Thanks in advance

Fin

TheBlackPoet 04-14-2007 09:06 AM

damn!!! this is the best yet!!!! you outdone yourself on this.. i think a few months ago, i asked if you could do it like this.. and BAM! this fits perfectly in the fixed forums... excellent job!

NightShado 04-14-2007 10:06 AM

i don't want text-decoration my Forum Statics Texts ... Can u help me ?

scart3r 04-14-2007 10:49 AM

Thanks - this was really easy to install - is a nice change :D

I am wondering if someone could tell me how to get it to sit on the left of the forum though - so that it is not on the bottom, but in a column on the left. Here is my forum - http://www.nettrafficchat.com

Is it possible? And if so - in simple words, how would I do it?

Cheers,
Cindy

Karabaja 04-14-2007 02:09 PM

Thx Cyb, almost everything fine. I just have one issue.
I have "remove bold style from usernames" set to no. And team members are fine since they are bolded. But I have a problem with registered users. Their usernames appear bolded as well. Even though I have nothing set in Username HTML Markup for that usergroup.

sportsoutlaw 04-14-2007 02:51 PM

I like the advancement of this, just a couple things that I would like to see changed/fixed

I am running windows vista (if that matters). When using firefox, the table/template, or whatever is used for displaying this information often shows up twice the size as what it needs to be, leaving half the space blank.

Second, on new members, I would like to be able to display the post count. It helps to track new members when they make a post somewhere so moderators can check to see if they are spamming the site, and/or posting in the proper locations.

JimmDaBimm 04-14-2007 04:02 PM

Great, i like it ! It works fine and i have more Infos and need that much space to show them, thanks a lot :>

WiseOne38221 04-15-2007 12:45 AM

Cyb, I love ya, man! EXCELLENT mods...here it comes, BUT the latest version does not let us set new user post count instead of a backwards date...I had to revert, man, because people were getting pissed at me, LOL. Just thought I'd let you know...

as7aab 04-15-2007 06:42 AM

I have a moderators forum that cant be viewed by other members,
how can exclude it from the "Latest forum News" in the stats

voter 04-15-2007 11:48 AM

People, do Top Thread Starters show at your forums the real ammount of Threads started by a user? It is not working correctly at my forum.

tehPARADOX 04-16-2007 10:53 AM

Thanks for the 5.1 version. I wasn't really liking the layout of the 5.0, I like it with only 1 row. Thank you!

Never mind. Missed the post above...

I guess you are using vBulletin 3.5.x?

If yes, then unfortunately there is no way to fix it.

This currently works only on 3.6.x.

vBulletin will not update 3.5.x to support such functions, I asked already.
