I love this hack.

The only issue I have is that if a user goes to send a pm, they get the 'no permission' message after they hit submit. That means they can spend ages typing out a message only to be disallowed.

In my opinion it would be much fairer to give them the 'no permission' message when they first hit 'reply' or 'send pm'

Version 3.0 - May 31.2006.
-Bug fixed. Usergroups who are excluded from "Forum/Thread Permissions" will be able to see last post info in forums where you have choose to hide it.

Didn't think of that. I guess it's cos I don't let any usergroup bypass the block. I still think some sort of warning message would be nice though.

It's not on to-do list but if I make something like that it will be the separate product.

Valter 06-03-2006 08:47 AM

Version 3.1 - June 03.2006.
-Added "Excluded groups" to PMs Permissions
-Users with no permissions to send PMs (except to allowed usergroups you choose) will see note on New PM page (see screenshots)

There's only an "allowed usergroups" option (very neat btw), but not an "excluded usergroups" one

Added in v3.1 ;)
