I need to know how to manually remove this field from my forum's mySQL using phpmyadmin. I can search for this and am able to find it, but there's far too many variables inside for me to simply delete something.

UPDATE: Copying the tools.php file from the original installation do_not_upload folder into your admincp and executing will allow you to select the option to rebuild the bitfield cache. No other editing is necessary.

I'm a big fan of this mod, but this is the 3rd time I've tried to install it, each time having disasterous results. While a really cool idea, I've never been able to get it to work. I don't recommend (sorry.)

If it's Beta at 1.0.7, what was it at 1.0.2?

Beta or not, I've never had to use the vBulletin tools to recover my database on a mod.

I'm simply posting my feedback of it; I would've appreciated the same had I seen it before this install.

Guest190829 10-24-2005 02:16 AM

It's will remain beta, untill the "BETA" doesn't appear before every version number...

ReadOrDie 10-25-2005 01:22 AM

Now when people apply to my affiliates it's not appearing. I did it through the admin CP and nothing is awaiting my approval. Can you somehow make it so this hack adds the affiliate immediately instead of having to wait more than two days?

Guest190829 10-25-2005 01:34 AM

The hack doesn't wait one or two days, it get's inserted instantly. You're database is strange...

I agree, I could REALLY REALLY use a hack like this but installing it was a huge hassle. And now it's installed but my affiliates aren't appearing. It's a shame because I was gaining alot of members with the affiliates hack. Now I'm going to have to cancel all my affiliates. Please kirbyde do something. :(

I don't get why people don't understand about this hack being a BETA. Beta are to be installed for debugging purposes only, not live productions sites. Anyone who installs this hack on a live board without knowledge of php should not being posting how this hack is "not reccomended."

ReadOrDie, I've held my patience with you for a long time. And I'm at the breaking point. You've done nothing here but whine and moan about this hack. If your so dissapointed at the bugs of the hack, you can go and learn PHP and fix them.

I have other more important things to do then work on this hack. And going to this thread and seeing ungrateful and disrespectful posts doesn't give me the enthusiam to work on this, and maybe some of the other hacks I plan to release here for free.

For those who still can not grasp the termonogly of releases here you go:

Right now this hack is in BETA, also known as the "stage when it is actively debugged."

Danny, being a coder myself (although recently new to vbulletin) I can understand a level of frustration. However, being in beta, which has been made apparently clear, hopefully to everyone reading, please take a level of criticism with it. You cannot simply put out a beta and expect people NOT to whine about it. I had complaints, yes, agreed, however, I have resolved most of mine aside from the ones I posted prior to this posting. I can live with these and when I have appropriate time, I may delve into the code to find what conflicts may be as at the moment I have no time to do so. I'm still taking in the differences between this software (vbulletin) and what I'm used to. I also have web designing to do, work at my job, and a newborn baby to help take care of. This adds to my client-side frustration as I feel others may have as well in different circumstances.

Having said that, as a coder yourself and with a project in BETA stage, calling someone's database "strange" because you haven't been able to duplicate their issues doesn't mean their issues do not exist. I, myself, experienced a similar situation which was corrected with uninstalling the hack and reinstalling it. If you have a problem with one of the members, please notify a moderator. Otherwise, accept the issues that clients run into as an issue that needs to be addressed rather than dismissed.

You are NOT going to have all the answers, nor the time to answer everything, which is understandable, but please, have patience with people. I'm sure this hack and others you will do will be great ones, but it takes time and patience dealing with clients on their issues. You are in a position of professionalism and your responses need to reflect your position.
