Dear all,

I wanted to make a quick update to you in order to let you know that the chatbox development is still undergoing.
I have moved to a new flat with my new gf recently so haven't had much time playing around on internet.

So far the final release of the next version was a almost 80%, I'll do my possible to get the 20 remaining % ASAP.

I know some of you are getting a bit pis*** off since the last version was released long time ago and I apologize for that.

Got this installed, did the language update, but the only phrase it hasn't changed is one of the major ones. On the text box, before you click to type onto it, it still says "Entrez votre chat > >". I need this changing to English but I am unable to locate which phrase it uses (if any). Anyone know how to resolve this?

This is mod configuration parameter , not phrase

All he has to do is type in the new option in the settings and change it... "Enter to chat".

hi,

installed and works great. pretty awesome. i had a quick question...i created a sidebar in my forum layout. can this be added to the sidebar? maybe as an iframe or something?

Is there a way to enable this for all usergroups in one click? I was left with a mess of usergroups (hundreds of them) and going through and enabling the chatbox settings in each usergroup individually sounds like a bear.

Sorry to say, but this is why all the sites I run/manage/am hired to clean up, is the BIGGEST NO NO! Anything more than 15 groups and you can debate with me in the face until you have a chocolate bar come out the other end and you still won't win....

Cut your usergroups down....If you have more than 30, it's time to merge. ;)

VbDev might know because my brain is fried....

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A dB backup BEFORE you do any of that. ;)

I've got everything running well (pretty sweet little plug-in, nominated for motm), with one weird exception.

When users go to their usercp and click on "edit options" they get the following error.

I wasn't aware that MGC did anything on the user options screen of the usercp. Any idea what's going on here?

Has anyone else run into that problem?

Ok, this I fixed this by creating the "mgc_cb_evo" folder inside of the /includes directory and copying the class_display.php file (from the download, but in the mgc_cb_evo/classes folder) into there.

Not sure why those files were laid out in the wrong place in the upload, maybe because I'm using VB3 and the filesystem is set up for VB4?

What you report is odd, the plugin attached to profile_complete :
"User option add in profile vB3"

is hooking to the profile.php file, no reason to have it point to includes directory.

Which vB3 version are u using ?

how do i get it to show up on cms home page?

I don't think VBDev has rights to do the CMS unless he codes it from the ground up or someone else gives him permission to since others already have made it for previous versions. Dev would know....

I have a question. Is there a way in vbulletin to update every users timezone and daylight savings time settings at once? I have over 5000 users and really don't want to have to do each on individually. Thanks!

Goto Vbulletin. This has nothing to do with the plugin. You need to run a sql query and if they aren't in the same time zone, you will have issues...

READ THE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED PLEASE. It tells you how to enable it.... Each usergroup you have to enable it for (another reason the people that have 15+ usergroups need shot. LOL) ;)

For longer text messages (2 lines) the name of the poster is displayed in the middle of the 2 lines! Is it possible to correct this that the name is always at the first line??

I have got it working as a vBCMS Center Widget all i done was make a template called shout_box and put in it and saved it.

Then i made a Section Navigation- JS enhanced widget called Shoutbox and put the template name shout_box.

I am not sure if that was right as it does not look perfect but it does the job for us :) the only problem i have just found is on custom styles i can not use the smiles in the more smiles pop up box.

You have to copy the images files from the MGC zip to each custom style.. I think there might be a few calls in the JS file as well.

VBDev is almost ready to bring a beta version to me and the other beta testers which already enables this feature....

I had to reinstall my chatbox, but right now all it is saying that it's Loading... and none of my members can type anything in.

Running VB 3.8.3, just downloaded latest MGC (a fine piece of work which I have used on other installations with no problem) but now I get a blank page when going into the usercp>edit options. Disable the mod and it comes back.

I disabled the rest of my mods (post thanks, sidebar) and left mgc enabled, no love.

Downloaded and re-upped all the files, no love.

Any tips? :)

This is why you ALWAYS DO A BACKUP OF THE DATABASE

READ the un-install info and follow it. I can't stress how many time people miss files.

BUT THIS TIME JUST REINSTALL IT.

RE-INSTALL, making sure to copy all the files. If that still doesn't work, it's the Mod_security issues. And that means it's an Apache box.

Sounds to me like you forgot to copy ALL the files over. AGAIN, YOU PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN TO DO DATABASE BACKUPS.

Fully uninstall it via the instructions, reinstall, and try again. If that doesn't work we'll go from there.

Same Problem with vB 4.1.8

I did a full uninstall and re-install.

As soon as I enabled it for a usergroup, the blank control panel-general options white page problem comes back for that usergroup. If I disable it for that group, the problem goes away.

I think I may just pull the hook(s) for control panel options....

When I disable:
User option add in profile vB3, profile_complete
The page loads again, but it's slow.

When I also disable:
User option update, profile_updateoptions
The page loads again and expect rate.

I don't really care if users can play with these options in their profile. They can collapse the box if it bothers them. So, while this isn't "solved", I've got a workaround. Thanks for your response Ranger187.
