How can I switch of BB-Code for all users expect the Admins,Smods and Mods?
I want BB-Code to be active but normal users should not be allowed to use it.
By addind an if condition to a template I managed to hide the BB-Code button for all users
but they still can use the code like [color=#..... and so on.
I think I need to modify a plugin or? Please give me a hint!

Running vb 4.1.2. Followed instructions and set permissions. I don't see a link to the Chat...anywhere on my board.

The problem with this mod is there is no option to add a link to the navbar. This being vb 4.1.2, I'm currently at a loss for adding a link to the full-size chatbox in the navbar of the site.

I currently have the chatbox open, minimzed, on the forum home. However, I don't want that. I want a link in the navbar.

Any help with the coding?

If you edit the navbar template you can add a link. ;)

How do we get a side box like the one on the demo page ?

When updating counters through the admin cp, it says that the process is complete, but just loops and I can't stop it unless I close the page in my browser. Links do not seem to work in the admin cp while it is sitting there looping.

Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

I found reason, when on my chatbox are /slap or /me then this error is turning on. :(

Maybe problems have connection with my encoding? im using ISO8859-2

I had to uninstall this chatbox - it was slowing my forum down.
Host says it was causing killed sleeping connections.

Please add to new version function "sound is default disabled for users" - some my users like this sound, but some hate this too :) They dont know where is source (my site or other) of sound :PPPP

Has anyone an idea why the chatbox keeps pruning chats every xx days? The prune is disabled in the AdminCP and I even disabled its cron job. So why is it still doing it?

I did install right now, on vB 4.x. I did choose english language. But in the Admin CP everything is in french. I don't understand any word in french, so i cant edit the settings now.

How can i change the admin CP language to English?

EDIT: Never mind, i did find it. It realy changes only the english language. But on my forum, we use Dutch as standard. So i just have to switch my forums to english.

Now i have to find out, how the chat wil behave for the members, as Dutch is the forum standard...

Now, the problems are bigger. In the admin CP everything seems OK, but what kind of possibility to place the chat on the forums i do choose, there is nothing to see...

No error message's, no any corrupted view, just nothing. As if i never did install anything. The chat is set to active, the permissions are set right. Help, pls...

Edit: even this i did manage by my own. I did not see, that there are also permisions to be set in the usergroup manager...

I have chatbox enabled on all forums and pages but it doesn't show up on the search page/new posts page. Anyone figure out a way to do that?

I'm having problems getting the chatbox to display in the treads of a specific forum. I can get the chatbox to diplay in the threads but the problem is it displays in all forums, not just the one I want.

I have the correct forum ID (97) set in the display settings but it displays in all forums.

I am only having one issue, that may have been addressed before, however my search-fu is not working well in this mod.

For some reason in IE/Chrome the images for the menus are broken, it works awesome in FF, just not in IE/Chrome.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Seeing that you are using this in a dark style, I'm guessing it's a custom style.

You'll need to copy the mgc_cb_evo images folder into your style's images folder.

Example: copy from forums/images/misc/mgc_cb_evo, copy that entire folder into your custom styles folder, forums/images/Styles/(whatever your stylename is)/misc/mgc_cb_evo

Perhaps i have to setup something in the OPTION (Admin Cp) ?

Can anyone help me? I'm running vb4.1.2 with MGC chatbox latest version but whenever I enable the mod I get the following message:

This is the same message I get when installing MGC chatbox, VSA chatbox, or almost any mod that adds content to my forum.php page. Disabling the mods returns the forum to normal.

Now, normally I would just say the mods aren't compatible with 4.1.2, but I have had several users tell me it works fine with their vb4.1.2. I don't know what is wrong with my forum. I've been searching for a solution for weeks!

First thing I'd ask is did you follow everything in the readme file step by step?

If you are 100% sure you've got everything copied to the right place, I'll investigate further, but let me know this much for now.

I just checked my function.php file in the includes directory and my function.php file only has 2137 lines of code in it. Yours is saying you've got at least 4097 if I'm understanding correctly. *Someone correct me if i'm an idiot, please.*

Sounds like you've got some major additions to that function.php file that are messing with some calls in the main mod .php file. Only a guess.

1. In the admin cp, left hand side below "Styles and Templates" you 'should' see "Languages and Phrases." Click on that to expand it.

2. Fourth selection down should be, "Download / Upload Languages", select that.

3. The screen will be split into two sections. The upper section is "Download" and the lower half is "Import Language XML File", we are going to work with the lower half.

4. First option in bold is "EITHER upload the XML file....." and on the right hand side is the choose file button. Click on that and navigate to the 'Lang' folder in the list of folders for the mod. Assuming you are wanting the chatbox to work in English, select the 'English' XML file there. (You should see the 'Not_updated' folder and two DS_store files as well.) Only other file in that folder should be the 'English' file.

5. Skip down to overwrite language option, click on the dropdown menu and select English (US).

6. Skip down to 'Ignore Language Version" and change that radio button from 'no' to 'yes'.

7. Click on the 'Import' button. (and cross your fingers)

Let me know what you get.

Disclaimer: This is how I installed this mod on my forum and I had no problems with everything displaying in English. I can't guarantee what this does to your forums, just sharing with you what works in mine.

Oh and don't forget to set your usergroup permissions or else your standard registered users won't be able to use it.
