Just give me a week, i'm finishing my paid work at the moment.

terry123 02-21-2006 07:54 PM

Code:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="forumdisplay.php?f=$vboptions[gal_cat_id]">Gallery</a>
</td>

In your installation instructions you quote the following in relation to the above code.

'5. Replace 'x' with the Id of your Gallery-Category.'

Now I cant see any 'x' in that code, could you please help me in finding what needs changing because when I click the Gallery button in the Nav Bar I get the following error:

Code:

Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator
Also how do I change were it says 'Galerie' to english and say Gallery?

Thanks in advance, to anyone who can help.

T

The Id you need is the ID from the Category you did set up for the gallery.

If you wish to change the phrases, you just have to change all phrases starting with gal_

Big TIME stuck at the moment. I got everything up and working. The only problem is when I add the navbar link. This is the error I get:

Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator.

I have no idea what i am doing wrong...

This sounds dum but I can't locate this code in forumdisplay.php. I use vb 3.5.3

PHP Code:

$thread['hiddencount']++;
}

eval(
'$threadbit .= "' fetch_template('threadbit') . '";');

DrewM 02-27-2006 09:05 PM

can you give a link to the site?

Try searching for:
PHP Code:

eval('$threadbit .= "' fetch_template('threadbit') . '";');

If that doesn't work try shorting it.

Harald_T 02-27-2006 09:21 PM

It may sound crazy, but it depends on the editor, you are using. The normal Windows Notepad isn't be able to find the whole string. As Larry said before: Try to shorten it a bit.

Annie^.^ 02-27-2006 10:55 PM

yes that worked, thank you

sounds like you have the wrong forum set as the gallery.
it's been a while since I messed with mine, but i remember i had to go to my SQL and see the forumID and place it somewhere,, I'm sure the instructions will say..

Regards..

Any ideas? Attached screenshot...

I had the same issue. Mine was due to my not having any attachments set to be shown as thumbnails.

I had to do this at ACP -> Attachments -> Extensions & Sizes

I did it for bmp, gif, jpe, jpeg, jpg, png

She's all working well now though, thanks for a top hack. Fits so smoothly into my theme. My next step is to try and integrate this with the VBForms hack, so that I have one place where people can post a news story to my CMPS and have an attachment come through with it.

I doubt it very much... I imagine this would be a very complicated migration due to the inherent differences between the two galleries.

oz_moses 03-07-2006 11:44 PM

has anyone else noticed very strange behaviour of the radio buttons when you add a new forum?

If I click yes or now for the 'Act as a gallery?' options, it selects the corresponding options for the 'Gallery-Category?'!

As a work around, you can just use the left/right arrow keys to make sure the correct option is selected, but even then it scrolls through all four radio buttons as though they are part of the same option-group.

Harald_T 03-08-2006 03:51 PM

Oh, this is a bug, a function, which was initaly planed, but not needed any longer. Will be removed with the next version.

OpticalSerenity 03-10-2006 04:30 PM

Thanks, hacks like this make my day!

oz_moses 03-10-2006 11:43 PM

no worries, it seems to work well in IE, just not in Firefox.

btw I'm loving the gallery

SpecOpsX 03-16-2006 04:14 AM

Hi this is an awsome mod but im having a problem trying to get images to display. I get the following error.

http://img161.imageshack.us/img161/7...titled4nw1.jpg

No picture shows up

Harald_T 03-16-2006 06:41 PM

When i remember right, this is a problem of your attachment-settings. Please check, if you have set the rights to view attachments and if the attachment-system is used.

puertoblack2003 03-16-2006 10:18 PM

good day, harold great hack and been installed but one thing one of my members noticed that in IE in the forum page where i have the the gallery and random gallery in F.F is fine but not in I.E after reading through this thread i made sure i did everyhyting possible and yes every features is activate since the problem is in ie how can i fix that problem with the x part..apparently that happens when the user is not logged in only..i went that when they unregisterd view forum they can see images in forum home only...

thank you in advance.

I've look threw the acp and in normal threads can view attachments no problems. Which sections of the acp in specific should I look through?

kanechart 03-23-2006 01:03 AM

Sorry but um aint this english forums 0.o? mine aint english lol

http://mmoforums.com/forumscreenshots_23/

also when you click the link aint it suppose to show you more?

Magle 04-04-2006 10:13 AM

This is a great hack, I've installed it on my test forum and it runs fine. However, I have one question/problem:

I'd like for guests to be able to actually see the thumbnails in the gallery-forums (instead of the "you need to register" pic), though not being able to click and see the full size images.

Is this currently possible (using permissions)? or would I need to change some code? If the latter, I'd like to suggest it as a feature.

I'm sorry if thsi has already been answered, in that case I have missed it in this rather long thread :)

Magle 04-04-2006 03:44 PM

Just an update: I have been experimenting with all possible forum permissions, but nomatter what I do it seems that guests cannot see the thumbnails on the forumdisplay pages. (I'm on 3.5.4 btw).

Please, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Everything else works like it's supposed to AFAICT. (though I had to manually edit the phrases, but that's no biggie). I'm of course using the latest install downloaded form here.

Harald_T 04-04-2006 05:42 PM

@Magle:

The next update (coming next week) will have this possibility, you were asiking for. Just look at my new site here: http://www.sf-galerie.de

I guess this works the way you are supposing it to do, right?

Magle 04-04-2006 06:45 PM

That's great news! And exactly what I was looking for - that way the thumbnails can work as a "teaser" inciting people to register on the forums.

Thanks for giving us this mod, Harald_T!

DrewM 04-04-2006 06:47 PM

Is this forum what It will look like:
http://www.sf-galerie.de/forumdisplay.php?f=9

Harald_T 04-04-2006 07:00 PM

@Larrysw: No, that's not my gallery. This is the tutorial-section build up with vbgeek.

Or do you need an option to have the gallery look similiar like this?

DrewM 04-04-2006 07:15 PM

I would use that!

tuanluu 04-05-2006 01:23 AM

When is he next update? This is a very kool mod I like it :)

mossss 04-05-2006 07:19 AM

I have Coppermine, it's possible to migrate at this gallery?

Harald_T 04-05-2006 03:57 PM

@tuanluu: I've started working on the next update and also thinking of new feature for this hack.

@mosss: Atm there is no possibility for this.
