I get that error message at the end of the install. There are no files to edit.

Guys...as you can see, this is a on going problem, yet there have been no TRUE fixes for it for 3.0.7!
I have given up...this is a great asset for any board and it shows that alot of boards use it, but NO ONE HAS MADE ANY EFFORT nor REPLY on how to fix this problem... This is not good business!!! Yet either way I love vBulletin and vPortal 1000% and will continue to use them! |
This is the second shoutbox that I have tried to install. In both situations, another vbb user and I determined that it doesn't work right in 3.0.7. I didn't realize it was so bleeding edge when I bought it.

PS...if any of you would like fo rme to help ya out i would be more than happy to edit what needs to be edited to get this working for ya....i know its hard to trust someone especially with all the peeps that hang on the internet...but i am here for ya if you all need help...i have become real good at editing what needs to be edited with the codes and look real good for anything i have maybe made a mistake with and correct it...the peeps here at .org are very very good peeps and provide alot for all of us to run their boards...but they do get busy busy...so some of us a smembers have to try and offer up help to each other.....so i offer up help to anyone...i have installed arcade and shoutbox flawlessly without any errors...but i am sorry if i myself cant assist you all any further by way of troubleshooting....but i can edit some code damn well...good luck to you all and i will try my hardest to troubleshoot the problems you guys are having...;)

hmmm...they are actually in the installer itself...if im not mistaken, at the very end you have to look real close because the edits that are necessary are via small print hyper link which then displays the files to be edited upon clicking the link...its kinda tricky in the way that you have to really look for that link...and if im not mistaken it is at the very end where you say no files to be edited...just below the first phrase i think

Hey Lizard... will this fix my current situation as well? As my forums, noone can even get to posting...? I uninstalled the hack completely, but still, the damage has been left behind and its crazy. lol
I understand the coders get busy, no problem, just if anyone can point those that are lost here in the right direction, that would be great!!!! |

Ill give it a try to night...Im right now had it with all my hacks soo Im re-uploading all the vB files over the old ones...this way I get rid of all the hack and then Ill try this...

Well I tried to uninstall the shout and here is the following errors:
Warning: halt(./includes/functions_log_error.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/vman/public_html/forums/includes/db_mysql.php on line 389 Warning: halt(): Failed opening './includes/functions_log_error.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/vman/public_html/forums/includes/db_mysql.php on line 389 I can't get past this point to re-install then use the above suggestions.... How do I fix this? |
This is goin too sound to noob like...but im so lost... Im an admin to a forum but I dont have any chance of getting to the codes or anything... The first step says
to go to 1. Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forums directory. I cant even find my forums directory in the admin Panel...Is it there or not? After I have that I should be fine. But thanks for any of the help. |

OK, I have really given up...I have tried everything step by step and now my board is all reversed...pictures, skins, blocks, everythings is now on the right side instead of the left....can't login, etc...
I uploaded all new vB files over the olds one....Ill wait until they fix this problem...OR find another type of shoutbox that will work... One thing I have noticed is I have not seen one staff member comment on this issue!!!! |

Since this one doesn't seem to work, can anyone recommend another good shoutbox hack? I can't find one that works.

I have tried it with that option checked and unchecked. It is actually to generate the template files, not a readme though.

Ive had the shoutbox hack installed for almost two years now and this morning out of nowhere, they were all gone.
We posted a few more, I checked again and they are gone. Is there something that needs to be changed or is it possible the hack isnt particularly secure from outsiders? Any help would be appreciated. |
Sounds like the same problem a lot of people are having. Unless someone says otherwise, chances are this hack is no longer supported by the developer.

I mean I just don't see why it would delete, lol. |
