Any chance of the original Curveball being posted.?
The version posted has the batting sounds and the bonus messages removed, and all together really lacks the quality that the original had.. Sorry to be picky, I told you I only add worthy games.. :nervous:

Member, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Any ideas as to what I can do?

I'm having the same problem. Please Jhon, can you give us a hand?

Thanx

Thanks.

Sounds like the IE language problem.

Does it work for anyone else?

No, sorry.

The only reason for this is that the instructions weren't carried out correctly.

Guys if your using my test account for like 5 days and still have not registered on the site then plz register :).. lol no one likes a guy with a top score with a name of test. And there is many various of ways of cheating. Programs such as memory searchers and etc..

MaDCaT75 01-23-2004 08:39 PM

Obviously, there's no way to combat that - it's just a case of hoping that there aren't any people sad enough to go to those lengths!

The sounds got lost in the conversion, there's no way of getting them back unless you can find a copy of the original source. :(

Ajay 01-23-2004 08:46 PM

John, do you think you could write a tutorial on how to modify games to work with v3 Arcade? Like what vbProArcade has.

I'll be posting one within a day or two.

Any fix for that bug I mentioned for Maede a few posts back yet?

if your talking about my forum then :ermm: but it is very very easy to find the values of a game into flash. I will show you if you have aim.. Its a 5 minute job. Obviously you cannot change your score due to your security or what ever. But you can change the motion of the game. Say the shooting game. You could stop the timer for 5000 sec's then put it back on.

zenmasteril 01-23-2004 09:58 PM

From some reason the trophis are not shown in the champions' post bit :ermm:
Also can't challenge people (only the champions from the arcade section) - there's no "challenge" in the drop-down menu...
What should i do ?

Dart1337 01-23-2004 10:01 PM

my "News & Events" area was working earlier, but now it's empty. I haven't modified anything since. Now it just says "News & Events" in the table. Does anyone have any idea why?

You can only challenge people who have enabled it in their arcade settings.

Nope. Something must have caused it, I can't help without any more information.

Not yet. The only way I can think of is to remove the end of level bonus completely.

and what about trophis shown in the postbit ?

Is there no way to make it, so that if someone moves the mouse out of the play screen during the level sequence, it automatically becomes gameover?

I know I keep bringing that other problem back up and I'm sorry if it's bugging you, but because the arcade is working in every other way perfectly without a single error, I feel this must be some kind of bug, compatibility issue or something, but I keep finding new things out, so feel if I share them then hopefully we may get to the bottom of it and fix it...

I've been able to re-create the problem a couple of times myself now, what seems to happen, is that the game just freezes at the end and either goes to a black screen or just sticks at game over. It doesn't seem to be transmitting the data to the database when that happens. The times when it seems to be mainly happening are when someone scores and high new top score or when the game last for a long time.

AutomatikStudio 01-23-2004 10:56 PM

I keep getting this error
Code:

Parse error: parse error in /home/user/public_html/boards/includes/functions.php on line 1768

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: exec_nocache_headers() in /home/user/public_html/boards/admincp/global.php on line 37

I made all the file modifications and then uploaded them and when I tried to go to my control panel I got that error in the right frame. I have made not file modifications prior to this as this is the first hack i've tried to install for vB3. I am trying to do this on RC3.

Doesn't seem to work for anyone else. People are playing but its not recording any scores. Unless everyone else has the same IE Language problem. I don't think I'd have a problem with my IE because I only have 1 language installed which is the default English (United States).

The default is off. If that's not the problem, you should find out what is... because there's no champion specific challenge code.

Trophies in the postbit aren't working because either:
1. you didn't make the modifications to the postbit template
2. you made an error in the modifications
3. you're using postbit_legacy on the forum, and you applied the changes to postbit.

AutomatikStudio 01-23-2004 11:21 PM

In response to my previous post...i removed this line from functions.php:
Code:

$debughtml .= " (<a href=\"" . htmlspecialchars_uni(SCRIPTPATH) . iif(strpos(SCRIPTPATH, '?') '?')'?')'?')'?')=== false, '?', '?','?','?','?','&amp;') . "tempusage=1\">Template Usage</a>) (<a href=\"" . htmlspecialchars_uni(SCRIPTPATH) . iif(strpos(SCRIPTPATH, '?') '?')'?')'?')'?')=== false, '?', '?','?','?','?','&amp;') . "explain=1\">Explain</a>)<br />\n";
Is that needed? Because removing it removed the error...

Check the gamenews table in the database and see if it's empty.

Using Dreamweaver to edit your code by any chance?

I'm *so* glad that people read through the first post before installing the hack... :tired:

If it doesn't work for anyone else, it's either:

1. Another hack is conflicting with the Arcade in some way.
2. You haven't installed everything properly.
3. You've stumbed across some unique bug caused by your forum setup. Have you got anything set vastly different to normal settings?

Nope, it has data there... so I guess it has to be something bunk with the template? Here's what I have:

Code:

<fieldset class="fieldset" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0px">
                <legend>News & Events</legend>
                <div style="padding:0px">

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" align="center" width="100%">
<tr>
<td width="100%">
<table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%">

$newsbits

</table></td></tr></table>

</div>
</fieldset>

This is not basic HTML John, which is why I asked with the <br> comment question.

The problem is if I put a <br> or any other type of line return, I'll end up with a <br> after the user title for people that don't have a championship under their name. Also, if it were so basic (and perhaps I am overlooking something), would it be so unreasonable as to ask, and receive an answer that was perhaps a bit more definitive?

I have vbAdvanced working fine and also a small sidebar hack. A similar site to mine has those hacks installed as well and his arcade functions properly. I also have vBXirc. I will double check my installation but im pretty sure i went through it line by line following every instruction. If I come across something i will let you know. Thanks.

restless 01-24-2004 02:36 AM

john... wanted to let you know that i have this installed, it's working perfectly and my users LOVE it.

that tutorial on converting games would rock the casbah.

Thanks..

Try
Code:

<div>$post[arcadeawards]</div>
instead

Shoto 01-24-2004 05:19 AM

I have the same problem with the highscores.
But I do not know to what language I should set my IE.

Other people from my board can however add their highscores.
So for somepeople it works for some it doesn't.

No other hacks installed.
