I have come across another problem, when people submit their URLs and description for validation, the information does not appear in the Admin CP.

I have to contact the site again to get all this info. and enter it via the CP.

I'm sure he's looking into all these problems, I hope things calm down with the issues at his job very soon. :)

I think I have installed all the upgrades and have the same errors as everyone else. 2.0 went ok--- but the 250 build not.

Ok, I am having problems installing this - what do you mean about this:

.: Upload vbldir_install.php to your admin directory
++ .: To Install, Click new Installation, and follow on-screen instructions
++ .: To Upgrade, Click Upgrade, and follow instructions
++ This will add tables, settings, and templates
++ *NOTE IF YOU ARE UPGRADING*
++ -delete all templates in your template set with the prefix "drkslinks_"
++ you must do this, so the installation will work.

In your browser window type in:

Substitute whatever your admin directory name is. Then follow the instructions

I will be releasing a beta very soon to a select few people. I'm in the process of writing an install script now. This will only be for new installs and once the beta testing is over then I will work on adding to the install script to upgrade from 2.0.

I will take 6 beta testers and will notify them via PM. The install script is nearly complete and I did manage to find a few small bugs that need to be attended to so expect this sometime early next week.

I'm willing to beta test as well. I have never installed the hack, but have been planning to for some time now. I'm on V2.3 vB, with vBindex.

i would love to be a beta tester as the one i have installed doesn't work and it would be great for the long term plans i have for my site.

Just about ready to send this out to the beta testers...one of my prerequisites is that your site must be open to the public and updated in your profile otherwise some else will get the honors...

Okay, updating now. Have a busy vb with almost 900 members and about 100-150 posts a day. :)

Count me in as a tester! Though I recently had to limit who may post to our site (we previously had about 200 more members than we do now), it is open to the public, and you can see the number of hits the links have received.

Ready and waiting here to beta test. I've got an active vB with 5,000 users. I also have a test server that I can test this on before putting it into production (not that I don't trust you, but... I don't trust you ;) ) Just let us know when you are good to go.

That's the one we want to replace. CSS looks fine to me. Green matches the site but doesn't in show in Moz.

He means, it must be visible to all users in your profile, eg they can click the WWW button, or click on your profile and see the url to your site.

Sure, just make a php page that pulls out a template and add the html to the template.....

You guys are getting way off topic... but, the bet way I've found for the dynamic age is vBindex. It is very simple and easy to hack to your liking... some of the others are overly complicated. Take a look at my site... all the non-forum pages are driven from forum content that I've twisted into the way I want it from vBindex. Use the nav bar up top to see them.

Do a search in the hacks portion of this site for vBindex. Read the support thread. You'll find what you need. I posted a lot of what I did in that thread.

I'll have to look at what I did for that page you mentioned. I think it's just a copy and template rewrite of viewthread, but I don't recall at the moment. This is really getting way off topic here, so please start another thread if you want to continue discussion, or move it to vBindex thread...

I just installed this. Went very smooth and was done with the setup in under a few minutes. I am still very new to adding hacks found it very easy. Its going to be a big help for me on my site. Thanks!

Just a little feedback:
- For newbies like me, you may want to include a reminder note in the directions to upload the rest of the files other than the vbldir_install.php.
- I wanted to adjust spacing of things in the footer and if possible, you might want to consider one template to run the bottom links and credits. I wanted to remove some breaks to tighten it up a little and found I had to go into a bunch of the other templates to make the same changes across all the Links related pages.
- I found that I could add links through the Admin CP fine but links added from the links page were not showing up on the public pages. I applied MarkB's tweak that corrected the problem found in this post:
