I opened a support ticket, but got no naswer. Maybe the lite version is not supported.
Let's pass on.

Could you please PM me with a link to your support ticket? I would like the opportunity to look into what could have happened there.

yes, it does it on a plain jane default style. Use 1650 x 1050 but have checked on other resolutions and it does the same.

Thinking it may be something else we have installed conflicting I started to disable each one. Right now it seems the issue is with your vbeditor tabs. If I disable it the delete popup works correctly. Enabled it is pushed over to the right side half off the screen.

We have 11 tabs for smilies categories and in the normal vbulletin editor they work fine, lower resolution they make two rows.

When in edit image in the vbgallery the vbeditor tabs are displayed but this seems to push the delete popup off to the right side. Now if they could be removed or set to not to show on the gallery editor things would be good.

I'll add this to our ToDo list, thanks :)

Please drag and drop the contents of the upload folder to your forum folder, this error means /admincp/dbtgallery.php was uploaded to the forum root, and not the admincp folder.

I use VB Gallery at this time and looking for other software and DB Gallery looks good and for the same price I can get life time support.

The one thing that I used VB Gallery for was to pick certain users images from the post and add them to the gallery. VB Gallery has an option that will allow you to place the images on the main page, now my question is does DB Gallery have this option to do the same thing? If so I will purchase this software

I am using vBulletin 4.2.2 and I installed this today. Although the importer recognises the thousands of images we have in Photopost and the categories, when it comes to import them I get a message for every image that it has been skipped. Is there any way of resolving this?

Excellent mod! I love this!

kvnband 10-06-2015 04:50 PM

How can we disable ratings? I'm looking through the settings and I don't see a way to do it. I'd rather not go through the templates to remove the stars because we'd have to do it for all of the themes. If this isn't possible through a setting change / usergroup permission, we'd love for it to be added.

Thanks in advance.

Will this place a five or six picture gallery across your forum home page like photopost?

No help here with a simple question, photopost is long gone so is vbpicgallery.

DragonByte Tech 10-15-2015 09:41 PM

There is a Forum Home block above the forum list with the latest pictures :)

So just tried this on another site that has photopost pro also and when you click on gallery import the only thing that shows is vb Albums. Does the importor work for photopost pro?

There is, and it shows up for me, however it shows these images at full size so I can't use it. I tried changing the Instance thumbnail settings and max image settings but no change.

Any suggestions for the above issues?

Halfhidden 11-17-2015 08:24 PM

I can't seem to see the answer to this in the forum so here's the problem.
I'm importing images from vbgallery (I've already imported categories) and the images seem to be importing to a maximun size of 400x 400 even though the original image is much larger in VB gallery.
I set the parameters (DBTech settings) to thumbs 200x200 and max image 2048x2048.
But no matter when I look at the image in the gallery it is still 400x? even if you tick the box to enlarge the image nothing happens.

OK the other issue I have is that the categories aren't showing up in the drop down menu after import.

Thanks for a great mod, this is a life saver. I also wish to upgrade to the pro version as soon as possible.:)
** Edit

I've looked through the old VB gallery and the image sizes are larger than the ones imported to DragonByte Gallery. Is it possible that the import script has imported the medium size images rather than the originals.

Halfhidden 11-19-2015 10:12 PM

Is it best to uninstall the light version? I have tried to contact the DBTech directly from thier website about buying the full version but it seems I'm blocked and my emails sent last week haven't been answered.
Can anyone help me?

Halfhidden 11-23-2015 08:11 PM

I'm getting a little concerned about support. It's been a week since I posted my first request and two weeks since I emails DBTech direct.

DragonByte Tech 11-23-2015 08:23 PM

Sorry, it's very difficult for us to provide adequate support over @ vBulletin.org as notifications are lacking :(

I can't seem to find your email, what was it regarding?

When you say vBGallery, do you mean the Album feature in vBulletin, or do you mean PhotoPost vBGallery?

Fillip

Halfhidden 11-23-2015 08:37 PM

Thanks for the reply.
I am refering to Photopost VBgallery. I have about 28,000 images and about 200 categories.
the issues are that I cannot seem to see the catagories and sub catagories in the drop down menu on the VBTech Gallery.
Also no matter what resolution I import images from the old gallery I cannot use the tick box to allow enlarged image on gallery view.

The email was sent via your contact form on VBTech site as I'm not able to log in. I have purchased software from you before. I wanted to buy the gallery version rather than use the light version.

Have you set the instance & category usergroup permissions after importing?

The importer will look for the following structures in order:
  1. Images stored in u/s/e/r/i/d/ directory structure under the ppgal_setting "gallery_filedirectory" folder
  2. Images called '<filename>_original.<ext>' under said folder
  3. Images called '<filename>' under said folder
  4. Images called '<filename>_thumb.<ext>' under said folder

It will select the first matching image.

Have you tried using the Lost Password function? You'll need to use your email address: s***f@n**********c.co.uk to obtain your reset information.

Fillip

Halfhidden 11-23-2015 08:57 PM

OK so let me get this straight. DBTech imports the original image, thums and file names. But the issue i have is that once imported I only get the thums and original size. So if you click on the image thumb you see a picture of lets say 6000x4000. I then tried to import the gallery again and set the size to 1024x1024 but that seems to set the maximun size the picture will ever be.
What I expected was a thumb, meduim image and tick the box in gallery view for larger image... is that the way it should work?

No, it imports ONE image from one of those directories, in order of priority.

If the new directory structure is found, it imports the ONE image it finds there.

If the old directory structure is found, it imports the ONE image it finds there.

If an even older structure is found, it imports the ONE image it finds there.

Lastly, if it only finds the thumbnail, it imports this as a last resort as the ONE image it imports.

PhotoPost seems to have at least 6 different storage methods used across their versions, and the importer tries its very best to find the correct image.

Fillip

Halfhidden 11-23-2015 09:08 PM

Right that might explain the small images I have. OK
I know you are busy so I just need to know can I set up the gallery as thumb, medium and large image. I'll try and look through the Photopost mess and see where it is storing the images and perhaps try and merge them before importing.

I'll buy the full version in the morning as well.

DragonByte Tech 11-23-2015 09:10 PM

If you can somehow figure out where PP is storing the full images for you, I might be able to update the importer to take into account your directory structure.

Fillip

Halfhidden 11-23-2015 09:18 PM

That's fine but to be honest it may not be so simple as that as some time ago we migrated from Photopost Pro to VBGallery as it was a far more superior script (it still had a lot of VBAdvance to it). I'm guessing that their import script simply made ne dirs and that is why I have what I have...
I'll plod along with this for now and upgrade once I can secure the originals.
Thanks for your reply

DragonByte Tech 11-23-2015 09:24 PM

Ah, yeah I think PP does some form of compatibility nonsense rather than migrating all images into their new directory structure, which is one of the major problems we've ran across when trying to import.
