Offhand I can't remember exactly the ones I've personally run into but I believe the ampersand was one of them ("&" should be changed to "&" in any url reference). I remember the ampersand was definitely an issue for me if it wasn't coded as "&" I ran across this error a couple times when I was adding urls to the "extra-urls.txt" file.

Whenever Google would give me a sitemap error, my solution was to check my latest sitemap manually and see if there was an odd character in any thread/post title url. Usually I would find one, then I would just go to the forum edit the thread title, recreate the sitemap and all was good.

Also, do not use all the settings in vbseo sitemap.

Indexing the "post" settings as on, may produce considerable 404 errors in webmaster tools. That settings will list incorrect url's in sitemaps. (I am using pretty urls)

Thanks for your brief reply on your first post i agree with you because it was same case with me then i change the thread title when i catch error in manual checking but still google webmaster make me anger and i am not indexing posts

The sitemap scheduled runs at 2AM server time, can this be changed to another time? My server has high load at this time. I am unable to find the option anywhere. Please help

Under AdminCP - Scheduled Tasks - Scheduled Task Manager:

Look for "vBSEO Search Engine XML Sitemap". When you find it (it will probably be near the bottom of the list) go to the far right and you will see "Edit" already selected in the option box, click the "Go" button underneath it. From there you can change the time.

Yes, vbSEO is dead (and has been as far as support for over two years now). DBTECH is working on an SEO product called DBSEO which is in its beta stages and will expand upon what vbSEO offered. DBSEO will also import your vbSEO settings with the click of a button. Then a quick change in your .htaccess (basically changing vbseo to dbseo in two spots) and those who were running vbSEO will have DBSEO up and running.

Like I said it's still beta but coming along quickly. It will be nice to actually have a supported SEO product for vb once again.

bosanci28 11-22-2013 04:30 AM

Hmm, hopefully DBTECH , will come soon with a release...Thanks for the info.

At the moment, I think it's a good thing to wait for DBSEO, as vBSEO is no more.

Expetect for $$

wow

Alan_SP 02-08-2014 10:51 PM

There would be light (free) version soon. Also, you can go with full (pro) version, with 3 month of upgrades (I think it's $70).

Also, compare it with vBSEO who had price tag of $$ and so much per year. After three years DBSEO is better deal.

On the other hand, we all have our own math what is bargain and what isn't.

I've edited your posts gentlemen, remember that we do not discuss pricing in mod threads, for the paid version of said product or competing products.

You're more than welcome to discuss that here though - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=304107

Hello! Great mod!

I just noticed that the Custom Priority doesn't work. I mean, it doesn't read the *per-forum* priorities set in the vBulletin XML Sitemap Manage Content Priority section.

I set certain forums to have 0.4 priority while others to have 0.9 priority. But when I check the generated sitemap, they all have the same value (the minimum value range set in vBseo search engine sitemap mod overwrites those custom values set in vBulletin Content Priority).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

khalled 04-12-2014 08:56 AM

when i try to submit sitemap (vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_index.xml.gz) greated by vbseo to google webmaster i get the followin error
our Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit.

http://www.web-site-map.com/ generates an XML sitemap for you absolutely free, they also have links to their broken link checker ( 3000 pages checked for free).

Hello,

since a few weeks, I get this database error every day:

Code:

Datenbankfehler in vBulletin 4.2.2:

                                'Google Sitemap Created',

What's the matter here? Is there a problem with the connection to the MySQL server?

Thanks for your help!

Looks like your php or mysql processes are probably set to timeout at 120 seconds. You're sitemap processing probably just became long enough to go over this limit and cause the errors. Try adjusting timeout limits in php.ini.

GPOClan 05-20-2014 08:17 AM

Hello,

thanks for your answer! I set the timeout limit to the highest possible value my hoster permitted, but I still get the database error.

EDIT: I uninstalled vBSEO due to several problems. Thanks for your help.

Ghostt 06-24-2014 02:57 PM

i have this problem since years.
my sitemap has #370 Files

1. this url NEVER worked.
Sitemap Index: /sitemap_index.xml
only this worked sitemap_index.xml.gz
BUT only when sitemap is finished. when cronjob make a new sitemap. all files get deleted. and
google webmaster tools display a error ....

how can i finally fix it? its very important.
i would also pay someone who can fix it.

Sitemap generations started giving Internal Server Errors (500) when generating a new sitemap. After trying a ton of different things to try and resolve it, I was finally able to get a sitemap to build without error by turning off "Auto-Notify Search Engines" in the settings. The time for creation of the sitemap after doing this went from an average of taking about 12-14 seconds over the last year down to taking less than 1 second (still getting all the links) with the auto-notify off.

Thanks, this was driving me nuts!

MARCO1 07-25-2014 06:38 PM

Waw, I remember these days :)

You will not pay anyone :) I'll make a vBSEO rewind for your for FREE :D

The correct sitemap URL is the second not the first, Always use sitemap_index.xml.gz as your sitemap URL.
This URL contains all of your generated sitemap.

dknelson 11-29-2014 10:39 AM

Getting this error. I get it every night when the the VBSEO cron task runs. Am told that VBulletin 4 does not even had a tagthread table so why is it trying to do this?

TBH I would just ditch vBSEO and go with DBSEO instead.

dknelson 11-29-2014 11:09 AM

Yep, I think I'll do just that.

ozzy47 11-29-2014 11:10 AM

Just remember, do not remove vBSEO till DBSEO is completely set up. :)

dknelson 11-29-2014 11:26 AM

Will do. Not 100% sure yet. To be honest, DB seems to be dropping the ball lately with their support. Hard to get an answer from them.

ozzy47 11-29-2014 11:27 AM

Well if you ask on here, it will be few and far between to get a answer, best bet is to post on their site, in the mods support thread, it gets answered there much quicker. :)

dknelson 11-29-2014 11:40 AM

I posted on their site about 3 or 4 days about about a database error in the Gallery and have had no response at all.

ozzy47 11-29-2014 11:44 AM

Strange, Belazor is usually on top of that stuff.

Brandon Sheley 12-04-2014 03:39 PM

Does anyone know if this xml sitemap will work with DBSEO?
DBSEO has a .php sitemap but nothing to manually submit to google webmaster tools...

Or if there a better sitemap that will work with DBSEO?

Thanks

dknelson 12-05-2014 12:36 AM

I read somewhere in this long thread that DBSEO will not work if your forum is installed in a folder. Is that still the case? If so, I don't even want to bother with this.

ozzy47 12-05-2014 12:40 AM

Well you would be better off asking about that in the DBSEO thread. :)

www.nofal 12-09-2014 08:22 AM
