Thanks for sharing the fix Disco Stu.
I will try it tomorrow and give comment later on.

vetty 08-02-2012 08:12 PM

Thanks for the fix Disco_Stu.

I have freshly installed 4.2.0 PL 2 (Default theme),
Everything is working fine without editing any codes in the plugin.

But when I was using 4.1.11 it didn't work.

Also,

This didn't work: :(

Quote:

If you want to get rid of the "Sub-Forum" heading then comment out or delete this line of code at the top of forumhome_subforums.
I still see "Sub-Forums" on top of all the listed sub-forums.

This worked: :)

To add the forum or sub forum icon at the top of a thread do this.

Disco_Stu 08-02-2012 09:35 PM

Try scanning for "{vb:rawphrase subforums}:" but make sure it's the one you want because that heading is also displayed in the sub heading when you click on the main forum and I don't know iof you want that one displayed or not.

fyi...I'm working with my custom style so it may be different with the default style

I am sorta of new at this so bare with me. I have the newested version of VB and I installed your mod. I can get it to work on first level forums. I just can not get it to work on my second and third level subforums.

I thought what you posted on post 677 included a fix for this, so I tried the first method you talked about and I still can not get it to work.

Am I doing something wrong, or can this not work on second and third tier subforums?

Thanks you in advance for your help!

Bojangles 08-25-2012 12:47 AM

I have installed this mod and done the necessary template changes.. but for some reason when I go to Forum Manager, I am not seeing the option to actually pick an icon for any of the forums.

Something I am missing on this? Using 4.2.0 PL2.

Edit: Nevermind.. I'm an idiot. Have to actually edit a forum and not a category!

Is there a way I can make the icons to be also be transparent when it's a guest viewing the forum?

Mr von 09-26-2012 09:10 AM

Double Mark forum as read does not work properly. All forums will be marked as read. :(

Unfortunately for two style not suitable.

Looks like you might be missing an ending quote or terminating tag just prior to "<img" I would check that code again

I also get this error above when editing a forum now. This is the first thing I've installed on my newly installed forum.

** Added the pictures to the icon folder and it doesn't have the error anymore..

Now I have the same issue on 4.2.0 patch level 2

Forum Icons don't display Level 2 Pages down.

Can pick the icon, but will not display.

I never preformed the manual edits with 1.2.4, therefore I did not as well when upgrading to 2.0.0

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

ADM > Settings > Forum Category Icons > Category Icon Sizing

Usage: Select "Globally" and use the settings below as it applies to all icons or, select "Forum Specific" and set it individually in each forum.

It's very easy:

- Open "product-forumcategoryicons.xml" with Notepad
- Find "['forumhome_forumbit_level2_post'] = str_replace($find1, $replace,"
- Replace it with"['forumhome_forumbit_level2_post'] = str_replace($find, $replace,"
- Save and import the product allowing Overwrite.

The variable "$find1" is no longer necessary in vb 4.2.x, you've got to replace it with "$find"

I hope this will be helpful for many users ;)

That'd work if what you said wasn't already changed to $find.. However $find1 is found on level1_post.... So were we suppose to change the level1 to find? or level2 to find1?

Need to change level1 to find.. Correct on changing things to find just wrong level..

If you check my post #677 you will see that the first change listed will provide the ability to display the icons on sub forums.

I also list other changes in the same posting to allow you to display the forum/subforum icon at the top of a thread

I've provided screen shots in previous posts showing that this works

Netjummer 11-09-2012 08:12 PM

is not working with vb 4.1.10

Disco_Stu, you have been very helpful throughout this thread, but your guidance affects the Forum Home Page "only"

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Not interested in changing those...

I'm interested in regaining the option for changing Forum Icons for Level 2 (down)

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Any additional guidance would be much appreciated!

Your response to Jackone gave the appearance of a question, rather then confirmed solution...

I will now make the change and follow-up, if indeed this does resolve.

Burnt 11-13-2012 08:23 PM

Yes sorry little confusing but I changed everything in my post on what you are actually suppose to change to get it to work.

I'm note sure what you're talking about. My change works for all levels. I just added a test sub forum then added another test forum one level below the first test sub forum. The icons displayed fine for each forum on each level.

SiteTalkZone 12-06-2012 02:07 AM

when adding a forum, I can add an icon, but when I edit a forum I cannot change it, the "forum category icons" block (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...5&d=1276552574) was not there when editing a forum.

Anbieter 12-06-2012 11:02 AM

Slows down the page speed extremely.

This was the original code :

Code:

<div style="width:65px;">
<center><a href="{vb:link forum, {vb:raw row}}"><img src="images/{vb:raw vboptions.forumiconimg_folder}/{vb:raw row.forumiconimg}" /><br>{vb:raw row.title}</a></center>
</div>

ICONE_SEZIONI in which part of the code I have to paste it?
