Hi dragon byte I have one more question, which file do I need to remove the dislike bits from showing on the drop down on posts. See image.

I don't use the dislike buttons and have them unticked in ACP.

magiccen 05-17-2011 12:33 AM

Gracias, funcionando en VB4.1.3

That's not currently possible, sorry :(

deverill2010 05-18-2011 05:11 AM

So I can't even just edit it from the template? Grr :)

DragonByte Tech 05-18-2011 05:26 AM

No, because you can create and manage your buttons from the Button Manager, which means the template can't have the buttons hardcoded :)

deverill2010 05-18-2011 05:36 AM

Ah ok, can I make a request then please for any future versions :).

If the button isn't selected that it doesnt show on the post/thanks drop down on a users post. The dislike button isn't selected so doesn't show where the buttons are which makes sense, so it would make sense if it didn't show where I have highlighted on a previous image :)

I do love tg mod though and users seem to like it so a+ from me otherwise.

DoubleGlasses 05-18-2011 07:09 PM

I feel like I've done something really silly. I basically installed it. I see the postbit part with no problem but the interface underneath the forum posts to like or thank doesn't appear. In addition, when I go to the forum manager, it only shows the top level forums. It doesn't show any of the sub forums.

Am I missing something?

Could you ensure that you've enabled the "Can Click" permission to each usergroup in the Button Manager -> Edit?

Also, keep in mind you will not see the controls to thank / like / dislike for your own posts.

That's a limitation in the Lite version :)

What is the difference between the "Can Click" and the "Can Require Click" columns?
"Can Click" seems clear but what about the "Can Require Click"?

DragonByte Tech 05-18-2011 11:10 PM

When you post a new post in the advanced editor, checking "require thanks to see contents" enables the use of a HIDE bbcode to hide the contents until the thanks button is clicked.

Ali Bokhari 05-19-2011 05:42 AM

can i disable the Notifications of thanks? the alerts which i'm receiving ?

DoubleGlasses 05-19-2011 08:58 AM

Thanks so much for the fix - I got it working. Now that I see how it works - I really really like this mod!

Fillip

Is the HIDE bbcode installed automatically with the mod or there must be installed manually and separately?

DragonByte Tech 05-21-2011 04:02 PM

Automatic :)

Hi, I'm definitely interested in the pro version, but I was wondering how easy this would be to integrate with other mods, such as vBa Dynamics, that need to be installed in a folder under my main forum, (e.g. mydomain.com/forum/folder). I tried editing the vBa show post template with {vb:raw thanks_postbit} but nothing showed up.

DragonByte Tech 05-21-2011 05:31 PM

The postbit display is only designed to work with the vBulletin postbit, sorry :(

When trying to upload the XML I get the following message:

Quote:

/home/sites/lfc4life.net/public_html/forum/dbtech/thanks/includes/class_install.php appears to be missing!
What am I doing wrong?

DragonByte Tech 05-21-2011 07:31 PM

http://www.lfc4life.net/forum/dbtech...ss_install.php - returns 404.

Please upload the contents of the upload folder to your /public_html/forum folder.

Fillip

Diddy Kong 05-21-2011 07:54 PM

That's what I tried to do. Uploading the XML file in the pluggins section of the vBulletin site.

That usually works for the other mods I add.

DragonByte Tech 05-21-2011 08:01 PM

Well your web server seems to disagree that the files are in their correct location, and without those files there's no way to install the mod (and even if there was, it would not work correctly after install).

There's really nothing more I can do :(

Fillip

Diddy Kong 05-21-2011 08:12 PM

I don't understand how I can upload the chat moderation on here that I did last week, but I can't with this one.

Diddy Kong 05-21-2011 08:16 PM

Is it because I haven't had this mod before and it is only an upgrade?

Thanks for your help by the way.

DragonByte Tech 05-21-2011 08:23 PM

No, it's because your web server does not recognise any APTL files being present in the forum folder. I'm not familiar with every web server configuration so I'm not able to tell you why this happens :(

http://www.lfc4life.net/forum/thanks.php = 404
http://www.lfc4life.net/forum/dbtech/thanks = 404

Etc.

Fillip

Diddy Kong 05-21-2011 08:26 PM

OK thanks.

It's there, but for some reason it doesn't work for me. :( I'm not able to use hide BBcode, if I require click whole post gets hidden.

Mikevet1984 05-22-2011 12:41 AM

Today I bought the pro version of this mod the official site!

Thanks to ozzy47 for his support I managed to add the Hide buton function....

It must be added manually through template edit and one image ftp upload.

What exactly? Do you remember?

Mark Hewitt 05-27-2011 01:05 PM

Pretty good but a bit heavyweight.

I'd quite like to have the "Like" button as just another button, alongside edit etc, rather than having an entire section below the postbit. Attempts to do that aren't looking good so far :(

You can just have the Like button turned on, and you can (at least in Pro, not sure about Lite) set it to sit alongside the Edit/Reply buttons.

Alan_SP 05-28-2011 07:44 PM

In lite you couldn't place it there, but you can edit template and make it smaller.

MissKalunji 05-29-2011 10:29 PM

how does the "thank you" before viewing content work? i installed, I don't seem to see how to do it?

DragonByte Tech 05-29-2011 10:43 PM

Check the relevant boxes in the Advanced editor, then use HIDE tags in between the content you wish to hide :)

I don't see it? theres no bb code. Am I supposed to create it?

ozzy47 05-30-2011 12:21 AM

Yes you have to type the code.

HIDE /HIDE both surrounded by [ ]

I did put [hide]something[/hide]

but it remains UNhidden and my bb code shows in the post.

Do i have to create the BB code myself? or will the plugin do it?

ozzy47 05-30-2011 12:28 AM

try putting hide capitol HIDE

DragonByte Tech 05-30-2011 08:51 PM

- Advanced Post Thanks / Like v1.1.7:
Fix: In some cases, users would show up as guests when viewing their posts
Fix: (Lite) It was possible to receive an error about un-clicking when trying to click a button that had previously been clicked
