I have the arcade/gamedata folder set to 777, owned by www-data:www-data, however I noticed theres no files in there at all except for a 0 byte index.html.

Will there be any incompatiblity issues if I have vBAdvance installed and/or have vBA set as my index.php?

Well, I've been waiting for over 2 weeks now on a simple fix for the Multi-color crowns. I have vBAdvanced, and all seems to work fine. However, the multi-color crowns don't work.

I don't understand why it should take 2 weeks for an answer. I check other threads and so many go unanswered over on the v3arcade forum. Maybe if you ignore them, they go away, but I and others would like to know how to fix the issue.

If the devs of v3arcade don't want to help, can someone else help? The trophies and gold crowns seem to work. It's only the multi-color crowns that don't. The code to pick up the random files seems to be missing, so it's only looking for forum/images/arcade/ instead of forum/images/arcade/crown1.gif and so on.

Sorry, but it just gets annoying checking every day and there's nothing. I started the thread on Feb 14th and still waiting for a solution :(

Ok when I import games from Mochiad or whatever they import fine, you can play them fine.

BUT when it goes to submit the highscore it takes me to a page and says "You do not have permission to view this, blah blah blah"

I've gone through all the settings and cannot figure out why it's blocking ME the ADMIN/OWNER to submit highscore?

OK, so shame on me. I guess they are working on 4.0 and issues like mine just don't qualify for a fix.

Honestly, I think it's just more of a golly they don't know and if they ignore it or keep asking questions, it will go away. I search through the threads on their forum, and they are just in the habit of ignoring or asking until the OP just leaves. I am starting to think the one with the info just doesn't visit the forums.

I feel sorry for those with major issue where other posters are having to try to help, because the oh so busy coders are just absent for a week. Looks like they are gone even longer on this thread. Yikes.

Sorry, but the it's free so take what you get isn't cool either. With only 47 games and poor service, I am understanding why so many are switchng back. I understand the coders have a life, but if you are ever thinking of charging for this, maybe change around your priorities a bit.

With all of the Mochiad issues, I don't even dare use any of those games. My forum will get messed up, and I'd have to just wait for a fix until they felt like trying to help.

I'm sure I'll get the "good riddance", but when forum owners are getting errors and things not working right, their members just don't understand the whole "We'll, I'm still waiting for a fix" after over two weeks. My members really liked the multi-colored crowns, which is why I was really trying to get it fixed. Telling me it's a minor issue and not worth the time doesn't sound good to my members. Not to mention that you haven't responded to many of the other posts, so they must not be worth the time either.

For v3A & Mochi games, no, since those don't go back to the generic 'index.php' script. For IPB games then you'll have an issue. This afternoon or tonight I'll write up a post with the manual edits you'll need to make.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but the problem I have is with Usergroup Permissions...

It would seem there's an extra line after the "Can Delete Any Scores" permission setting. There's no text, but a radio button selection where one can select "Yes" or "No"...but, like I said, there's no text describing what that selection is for. It then carries on with the ability to set the Minimum Posts Required to Play, etc.

Other than that...it's all good.

Is this a bug or coding error?

Seriously, though... it's a problem with the phrase. The phrase "can_override_permission_checks" should have a 'phrase type' value of "Permissions" and it doesn't so when viewing the ACP the option is showing but not the phrase.

Have ran into an issue and not sure if it's a recent upgrade to Firefox, or the mod itself.

The problem is that if a user beats their own high score and nobody else has played the game...it's not saving their highest score. It shows the high score in their Profile, but it doesn't register as the new high score for the game.

Using Fireox 3.6.3 along with a vB 3.8.5 install and v3 2.0.0 installation.

Any help?

I've seen a few people report this over at v3A.com as well (took the day off yesterday, catching up on my To Do list today) and I'll try to recreate this. I may be related to a problem that was to have been patched back in the 1.1.1 release but it may have had an unintended offset. :o

I went to v3A and saw there was a 2.0.1 release...so I downloaded it and overwrote all the files and re-imported the new product allowing overwrite...still no joy.

I've posted over there, as well...hoping some good will come from it.

BTW...I was also under the impression that this mod handled IBPArcade games...so I downloaded a few and imported them...and having the same issue with those, as well.

Anyhoo...can ya keep me posted on this...don't want to go back to the other arcade mod that's here at vB.org. That one isn't XHTML compliant...while this one is. That's one of the main reasons I'm using this mod...instead of theirs.

Just got done with tonight's batch of private v3A support tickets; am looking at new open issues now. I'm playing some games now trying to duplicate the with v3A 2.0.0 running on vB 3.8.5 (I don't have any older vB 3.x.x sites to experiment at the moment).

Should be no problems with IPB & IPB v32 games; I noticed you're vB 3.8.x so as long as there are no conflicting plugins (eg: making sure that the old IPB product is disabled and/or at least the old IPB plugins are disabled) then you should be fine.

I think you may have misunderstood me...

I'm no longer using the IPBArcade mod that is listed here on vB.org. Thad has long since been uninstalled and there are no product/plugin files associated with that mod installed in my forum.

I went to another site that has those games...and I'm not sure if I can mention it here...so, I won't. But a simple Google search ill direct you to those games.

I downloaded the tar files and uploaded them as specified in the Import instructions via the Admin Control Panel. The install went fine...it's just that the issue with the new high scores not being reflected as the actual high score. It will show the score in the user's profile tab, but will not record it as the new high score. It only happens when nobody else has played the game...and one beats their own high score.

I got ya'. ;) Tried duplicating the issue last night but with no success. But it may have been because I was doing a 'wipe all scores' first and then trying to get the problem to happen again (played an IPB game, got a score, played again and got a higher score, but the new score was recording fine). Still looking into it.

BTW...

I'm not sure if this is important, but because I'm not using the Mochiads I did not upload the crossdomain.xml file. However, I don't think this would cause the issue.

Hi Everyone I've been running v3 Arcade since 2006 v1.0.6 and its been running great.

I went ahead and upgraded from v1.0.6 to the latest and everything is great.

One slight problem is, I had the addon plugin to allow installation of games through IMPEX I guess v1.0.6 didnt have a good installation feature.

Now in my Admin Panel I see *[arcade_settings]* which is a left over from the older v3 Arcade.

How can I remove this? anyone know which files to edit?

I don't quite understand how I Install the games, I downloaded the games from www.mochimedia.com and got the Flash file, then uploaded into the games folder on my host, then went to import games, put in their location then import, then it says there are none to import, but they do not show up in the arcade. Any Help?

Installed and all was working just fine, but now I get this strange thing happening when I play asteroids. After about 5 minutes of play the asteroids screen says "transmitting data" and then it automatically goes to the score standings. How can I fix this?
