OSanchez 12-24-2009 03:43 AM

I did.

cheat-master30 12-24-2009 04:37 PM

I did as well. Still didn't work.

runwtdevil 12-28-2009 03:44 PM

Yes I added them.

ProFifaLeagues 12-28-2009 05:04 PM

Same for me ive added the keys etc in admin cp and can click to (twit this thread) but it still doesnt show on my twitter page, any ideas guys?

AndyMP 12-28-2009 05:23 PM

Same, I did a completely new installation (never used the modification before) following the instructions. But there is no place in the Edit Options for a user to put their username/password for twitter and when I click the authorize link, twitter doesn't seem to recognise that a user has been added because in the twitter/application settings it still shows "0 users".

King Kovifor 12-28-2009 08:06 PM

I will attempt a new install soon, since the process must have changed at some point.

Did you go to User CP->Edit Options->Scroll down to vbTwitter????? It should take you to twitter.

In my case it all works except when Tweeting a post.

ProFifaLeagues 12-28-2009 10:53 PM

Same here all working well apart from when trying to tweet a post it acts as if its been done but doesnt appear on my twitter page!!

AndyMP 12-29-2009 09:25 PM

Ok, something happened today ! I logged onto Twitter and my account had a message saying "I have successfully set up my account to work with vbtwitter at one of the sites that I visit - this message means that it was successful".

And sure enough, when I selected to tweet a thread it appeared on my twitter page. So everything seems ok after all, except that while I can tweet a thread I can't tweet an individual post.

hogan00 01-02-2010 08:42 PM

I know this is a stupid question..but...what folder do I upload the "upload" contents to???

cheat-master30 01-03-2010 12:37 PM

^Whatever folder your forum files are in. So if a file was in 'upload/admin', you'd upload it to the forum admin folder, etc.

MotMann 01-04-2010 02:21 PM

a) What i must set by the Question:
"Use Twitter for login"

kevcj 01-09-2010 02:11 PM

Does this work on vB 4.0.1? forum and CMS?

steeler7 02-18-2010 06:53 PM

The last part in the directions regarding the tp.php file is that for 3.5 users or something that needs to be done? I'm not getting "tweet this post" to show up

Speysider 02-23-2010 01:53 PM

In the zip file, I get weird files in it.
Which ones do I extract?

vbreal 03-03-2010 01:14 AM

z0diac 03-21-2010 08:01 PM

There's an application signup question that your instructions don't mention :

Use Twitter for login: [ ] Yes, use Twitter for login

...so I'm not checking that box for now. Hopefully that's what I'm supposed to do.

mykkal 03-22-2010 01:54 AM

Does anyone know how to get it to tweet the name of the post instead of "Check this Out"?

Yes, please leave that unchecked. I am not sure what that can do to your board, since no support has been coded.

There is unreleased experimental code. I have restructured my release goals, with the hopes of a faster release.

windrider07 04-05-2010 09:16 PM

I can't get posts from my forum to show up as tweets on my twitter site.

On the Connections Tab in my Twitter Profile Settings I see a "No applications have been approved to use your account." message but I can see the application settings when I go to http://twitter.com/apps.

Any ideas on why my posts won't show up? I got the keys and put them into my vBulletin admin settings.

EDIT: Got it to work. Had to edit my User CP options and set it up to allow access.

"Once a user defines their Twitter username & password within their vB Options (User CP -> Edit Options), the Tweet This X links will appear."

That should be in bold print and underlined lol....in order to make this mod work, make sure to do this....:P

I'd love to have this too and maybe the first few words from the post.
so the 160 twitter limit is filled up automatically.

ok after playing little bit around with this add-on I have some feature requests *g*

Tweets like this:
breadcrumb - title - post teaser - link
filled up to max 160 characters
and the possibility to preview and edit the tweet before final submission

link (for the tweet) changeable in admincp settings for being able to add own, alternative short domain name

instructions for url rewrites via mod_rewrite

I would really appreciate that

John Streetz 05-23-2010 03:58 PM

Any chance of getting this for vB4.0.x? That would be awesome. Currently it messes up the edit profile setting page if installed on vB4.0.x. I didn't get far enough to see if it worked once the twitter account was set up in UserCp.

Speysider 06-07-2010 10:04 AM

I have a question. When I download the .zip, I get loads of duplicate files. Which files do I upload to the server??

/me marks as installed

Patricio Murphy 07-02-2010 06:07 PM

I get to the point where I see the Tweet this! over the message creation box, but when I click it nothng happens.
In my User CP I only find a "Setting up integration with Twitter through this forum will turn on any "Tweet This" feature on this site. Setup integration by clicking here." I click, get the message asking if I allow it, say OK, get redirected to my forum, and nothing more. I don't find any place where I can add my Twitter account info to my vB account.
Any suggestion?

Patricio Murphy 07-02-2010 10:24 PM

Finally worked!
I had set up by mistake "read only", no wonder it didn't work...

appsfinder 07-13-2010 08:29 AM

hi installed ok but do not see link to tweet this post in my post can you help?

04Venom 08-05-2010 02:42 AM

I was going to move on installing this. However it looks like a stable version has been released for vBulleting 4.0.X as yet.

Is this a true statement?

I don't see any options in the CP -> Edit Options either.

I installed everything, made temp changes, entered the auth codes, see them in my database. When I clicked Tweet This under Thread Tools the first time, I get taken to Twitter asking me if I authorize this action. Everything seems to be working except nothing happens when I Tweet This and there are no option in the Control Panel.

vB 3.8.6 patch 1, PHP 5.2

Like some of you I was looking for another forum software after trying to deal with vB 4.0 but gave up on it after consulting the forum members on changing the forum and I don't have the time to make it look the same now.

Would love to be able to Tweet from this forum.
Thanks in advance for all your hard work.

abhisays 10-22-2010 04:01 PM

Thanks a lot for this mod.. Just installed..

Abfabmedia 11-22-2010 09:57 AM

We are getting the following error on our General Settings page - can anyone offer any advice?
