I still have something strange there... Got 2 screenshots now :

1) this is the normal setup I think, I can see tournaments competitor and can delete those through the small icon (only 3 players registered there => I can see them!)
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

2) this is the "bugged" version, when more than 10 competitors are in the list disappear and I can't remove players (they can't remove themselves neither, here I have 25 registered players so far) :
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Is there a fix or is it me who's got a wrong setup somewhere?

Thanks a lot

rob01 10-08-2008 05:51 AM

one question, i keep getting this error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function cal_days_in_month() in /home/robtbs/public_html/forum/tournament.php on line 749

and someone already told me , i should install calendar-extension

but my webhosting dosnt support it...

so what else i can do? for fixing this error :(

Spencey 10-08-2008 08:36 AM

I'm getting this message? Any help?

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2949120 bytes) in /home/sites/site.com/public_html/forums/tournament.php(2029) : eval()'d code on line 1891

OcR Envy 10-08-2008 11:26 AM

First off, voted for MOM. I've told you before but I've been waiting years for a decent script like this.

I've reported this one before but if you turn on redirect messages in vB Options - Cookies and HTTP Header Options - Remove Redirection Message Pages - No
You get this error when submitting certain commands on tournament.php "Could not find phrase ''. redirect message"

Also noticed a few styling issues, might just be me. The edit button goes to the default image directory not the dynamic skin directory. When removing a team from a tournament it refers to them as "player" a bit confusing.

Suggestions:

1. Map & Gametype Randomizer
2. Cut off date for signups - If the max number of players/teams isn't reached by a certain date registration closes and the tournament starts on the scheduled date regardless of if enough players have joined.
3. Notifications, I would love love love too see things added to vb 3.7 notification system. Such as request for players to join your team or to approve a win/lose etc..
4. Full ability to edit tournament details. I hate clicking the + or - to change the slots, give me all the editable options on one nice and neat page. When setting the time don't make it GMT+0 make it the tournament creaters time zone.
5. Ability to close comment system on a tournament
6. Ability for teams/players to report a win or lose and have a tournament mod OR the opposing team/player confirm.

You could rename the file to something else 'competitions.php'?

seems to be missing from the file package (wouldn't load, couldn't find it so jacked from your demo site. lol)

BUG?
Ladder combined script with tournaments is great... but since I upgraded...
creating new ladders doesn't create a new thread :(

The image tree_ltr.gif came with vBulletin i downloaded so it should be on your forum. atm, only tournaments create new thread.

This might be a very stupid question but unfortunately I am not a "games guru" like most of you out here...

I installed the mod but I am not sure how this thing works??? I went through all the posts but did not get much idea except that there are two modes i.e. LSM and 1v1.

My main question is, what GAME are the users competing against?? Does the user who creates the tournament, adds a mult-player game where people can compete against each other??? If this is case, where to download these multi-player games??

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks
Wicked80

Guys, atleast provide some starter links :(

this mod allows you to manage signups for tournaments, the games/ matches will be played elsewhere and the results put in mod.

lms: The last man standing wins the match / player with highest score
1v1: single elimination- loser of each match is out until 1 player left

JAnders 10-08-2008 04:08 PM

an option this mod desperately needs is the option to drop out of a ladder.

but so far it's an awesome mod and I'm sure it'll be Mod of the Month in the near future.

Thanks a lot BananaLive....canyou just check if my understanding is correct..

So lets say, there is a big HOCKEY GAME tournament being held in toronto this weekend, so i create a tournament in my site as well. But how are the winner's mapped to that tournament?

Do I have to create questions like "what will be the scoreline"..and then at the end whoever is closer, moves ahead to the second round???

A perfect world example would be really amazing as I want to use this MOD and also nominate it for MOM.....

Thanks

Stifmeister2 10-08-2008 05:04 PM

I want to remove those tournament stats from postbit! I like them in memberinfo but I hate them in postbit. :(

I run a few of websites dedicated to PS3 online gaming. We run tourney's on games such as Call of Duty and Socom. I currently run an antiquated ladder/tourney script in a seperate directory from my forums. This script allows you to set up tournaments or ladders directly on your forums.

For example, I am about to launch an 8v8 tourney for Socom: Confrontation. With this mod, I can have the clan leaders sign up for the tourney, invite members to thier team, and set the individual matches up directly on the forums. When the tourney starts, the teams play online, and record the required stats in the mod, and the winner advances. No need for the extra script in the other directory. It combines both elements of my lsite into one.

Hope this helps a little.

If you had gaming forum, then your forum users would signup for the tournament using this mod then play their opponent and put the results into the mod

looks like you're missing a column, can you check the usergroup table and see if you see that column there?

Ninja Tom 10-08-2008 11:21 PM

Can you get a Double Elimination and a Pay-To-Play bracket on here, too? This mod is awesome and I can hardly wait to install it!

Can a ELO type of system be introduced ?

CFodder 10-09-2008 08:45 AM

We have run a couple of tournaments for clans in region, generally have a round robin match where everyone playes each other once, then top 8 go into the main finals and bottom 8 into the plate finals which are divided as per the stand quarter, semi and final system. Would it be possible to do this?

Is definitely a great mod with what you have already.

I can start working on a Level-Based scoring system, which uses a teams current score to talley points for wins and losses, based on their opponents total points. The end user will see that the higher ranked team you beat, earns you more points, and the lower ranked teams you lose too, loses you more points. I am also going to work on tracking game specific stats, and maybe add a map generator, and a "Best of" to the challenge system.

KHALIK 10-09-2008 11:16 AM

Nice one djlotus, I shall be looking forward to the ELO based system.

Chris11987 10-09-2008 11:36 AM

Awesome, djlotus.

djlotus 10-09-2008 01:44 PM

I should point out that I will wait to have a stable product installed before I start testing it. Since I am not a coder by trade, it may take a bit to get the hang of vB code structure, and since pages may need to be added, I may need help with that.

Under latest Tournaments it would be a great Idea to hide finished tournaments and place them under tournament history link.

Can we get the forum jump menu to be accessible from within the Tournament and ladder script.

Also, The product.xml which bananalive uploaded to move the stand alone ladder tables into the tournaments and ladder combined Script works fine. Thanks for the Product :D

I've implemented elo rating system, but I'm just tweaking it a bit. You can see it at my test forum/ demo.

I'm not sure why it didn't create the entry for you. I have uploaded product file which should create the entry for you.

Rules fix updated here

powerbook 10-09-2008 04:27 PM

Thanks, For some reason it didn't want to create the rules table but I added that manually and then imported the xml you posted :up:

How would we go about adding the rules fix?

Just import it like a normal product. Once it has installed you are free to uninstall it, to keep your product list tidy.

gamerscms 10-09-2008 05:00 PM

I tried that and got the following error:

With the ELO system will you be able to add give points and take away points? for example double XP weekend etc.

Also be able to change the point type: XP,points and so on.

djlotus 10-09-2008 07:58 PM

Thanks for the rules fix. It is a big help.

Has the issue with the Tournament description breaking the style been addressed yet?

Request/Suggestions:
  • **Double Elmination!!** Pretty PLEEEEEASE!! :)
  • **Calendar integration**
  • HTML markup for tournament/ladder titles in List (hard to read or would like to highlight some)
  • Ability to sticky for Tournament/Ladder Lists
Team Logos
  • upload team logo when create new team (currently can only do so when edit team)
  • team logo thumbs on Team List
  • ability to choose from stock logos (maybe link to vbulletin avatar?)

Additional Requests: (Don't know how I forgot these)
  • *Notification and/or PM when CHALLENGED on ladder and when tournament round is completed.
  • *New comments also shows on New posts.
Right now the biggest problem people are having is that they don't know if someone challenged them!! (they don't instinctively check the challenge page or by habit).

Notifications are an essential and invaluable feature area, imo.

PS. Sorry... for the multiple requests... you are doing an incredible job!! Just putting them out there in case you get a chance ;) Thank you for your hard work and updates--- hang in there! :up::D)

Great work so far m8 and with the ELO systeam being added this is turning out to be a GREAT mod.

I have a other segestion for you:
Must leagues and cups now use xraygaming (aka xray anti cheat)
on there site there is a php code that will allow you to link your xray profile to your website.

Is there anyway you can add this in as well so when a use registers he must submit his profile info as well but you the opiton of turning it off.
Also be it be nice so that it will say his info so that he dont have to keep typing it in ever time to play a cup but be able to edit it if needed.

Here is the code that on the site
Code:

<?php
  // Grab the link to a user's XAC Screenshot profile
  $guid = 'GUID GOES HERE'
  $xacprofile = "User has never used X-ray Anti-Cheat";
  if (strlen($guid) == 40)
  {
    $xacurl = file_get_contents("http://www.xraygaming.com/screenshotlink.php?guid=" . $guid);
    if (strlen($xacurl) > 0 and $xacurl != "NONE")
    {
      $xacprofile = "<a href=\"" . $xacurl . "\">Click here to view</a>";
    }
  }
  echo($xacprofile);
?>

For more info you can see http://www.xraygaming.com/index.php?pageid=xac-linking
But this would be a GREAT added and i am sure a lot of other people would like to see this added

butler312 10-10-2008 02:57 AM

I have a member on my forum who is creating tournaments himself and then advancing himself all the way through so he gets the win, just so he can be in the top of the HOF. Is there a way I can:

a) prevent him from creating tournaments individually. I know how to change the permissions for a certain group, but not an individual

b) remove his wins. Maybe have it so that when the tournament is deleted that all the stats for it are removed?

Also, in the future it would also be cool if you could set it so that the results of a tournament effect the ladder rankings. Each match could count towards the rankings and then the winner (and runner up?) would also get bonus points, based on the amount of people entered and the average rating of everyone entered.

BlackLava 10-10-2008 06:20 AM

Any news about my bug? the one with screenshots there https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=682

Are other members seeing all registered players even if there are more than 10? (That's my bug, listing is showing only if there are a few registered)

If you allow everyone to create tournaments this is bound to happen. :( There are always kids out there... The best way is to let only adminds and mods and other people you can trust create tournaments imo. ;)

Or make a special group for this one mofo. :p
