It works for the blog owner for the initial post, this is the best that can be done without hard coding, from what passivevid said in a much earlier post

A couple quick questions:

1. Does this work for video links that were posted PRIOR to installing this mod? So if I go back and view old posts, will the videos now be embedded?

2. Does this have an effective on site performance (speed)? Will the users notice the threads displaying more slowly because of the parsing that it has to go through with this mod turned on?

it would be a good idea to actually Uninstall the previous version. So the new default settings appear in the ACP.

As for performance decrease its a matter of 100MS on showthread.

I installed this and so far have only tested a YouTube video. It embedded and played properly, but the URL is displayed on top where the title should be. I read through the other posts and the impression I get is that I need vbSEO to get the actual title. Is this correct or is this a bug? Thanks, this will be fabulous once I get the video title in there.:)

Its not a bug, that the link title is not changing. (you can however manually title the link and it will work). vBSEO does this for you already.

If im feeling nice i may look into actually creating something that does it so you dont need vbseo. (just for video sites though)

I installed (overwrite) the new product and all files on server.
I do see the Settings in ACP but when I post the link nothing happens.
It posts the complete link not the video. Do I something wrong?!

Perfect, but you should make some changes and make the module NOT work inside because if we want to provide some kind of code with the link to the users we just can't...!!! :-)

And something more. It would be nice to have a button too and enable disable the automatic work of the module. :-)
It would be nice for the admin to configure what user groups will have the automatic function enabled. :-)

This is an awesome hack. I installed (and marked installed) and it works great. Except myspace vids aren't working for some reason, but that's no big deal - we don't really use that on my forum.

I want to get the most out of the hack. Can someone explain what these two features allow me to do? How would I use these?

Hmm, the embedded vids on my forum all went back to being links, and posting new video url's won't change to embedded vids anymore.

I can't think of any settings I changed. Anyone else have this happen?

Add: uninstalled 111, and installed 112, same thing, no embedding.

Are there any settings in vB Options that are required for this work?

After a new post with a video url is submited, the embedded video starts to display for an instant (just the area of the video, filled with grey), but then it switches to the raw url.

i see your issue... u need to put 6 in the usergroups (last field) and you should enable custom replacement.

and no user group 6 doesn't need to be set, its just because your user group is 6 (admin)

i cant find a normal myspacetv link.
