Version 1.22

The "Most Ever Guests" option has now been added directly to the modification instead of needing the seperate ME product.

Masiello 10-05-2007 07:27 AM

Thanks for the update Paul, installed.

If the seperate ME product is installed for your other add-ons, will leaving it installed and installing this updated add-on cause any issues?

KURTZ 10-05-2007 12:29 PM

updated! (thx paul)

Nope, if you have the seperate product installed still, this will detect it, and leave the display & updates to the old product.

JFYI - as posted in the ME product thread - I will be updating all four modifications that ME was written for (over the next few days) so it will become redundant.

Canis Firebrand 10-05-2007 09:59 PM

Glad that they will be incorporated. I assume at that point, it will be a simple removal of that extra add-on and just use the four modifications in their updated state.

Thanks again for all these plugins as they give you a nice view of what is happening on your site.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for your efforts,I love this tool, I have only been running VB a couple of months and this is a superb add on.It has shown up some very interesting information and today showed up an IP from the US undoubtedly using a scraper on my forum.

Over 140 pages hit in a matter of a few minutes stands out rather well on this report, anyone without this tool may well never have known of an incident like this.

yoyoyoyo 10-06-2007 12:28 PM

I appreciate all of you hard work. I installed this on my site, but do not see it in the "Who's Online" area. I have it enabled in the ACP, but it is not showing up on my forum home page. All of the other who's online hacks you have made work, but I can't seem to get this working - any ideas where to start looking?

edit: nevermind - I didn't have the permissions enabled properly :D

Yes.

All four have now been updated, so you can install the ones you want and remove the old ME hack.

Total666 10-06-2007 04:00 PM

Somethings weird , I uploaded the file to includes / xml file ... imported the new product .. all seem updated .. But now my guest display is gone ? Ideas ??

http://www.extremetesting.tv/forums/index.php

Paul M 10-06-2007 05:23 PM

Have you actually set any permissions (as per the install instructions).

vitrag24 10-06-2007 06:11 PM

i think keep mostever plugin is better option for me then reinstalling all 4 products.
:)
What do u say?

USAMustangs.com 10-06-2007 11:01 PM

I installed this new version overwriting the previous version and now the whole guests and spiders display has disappeared?

I verified that everything is enabled. I did upload the bitfield file into includes/xml

I also updated the members visited version at the same time and it seems to working just fine?

Any ideas? I sure would like to get it working again.

I have vB 3.6.5

Thanks

EDIT: Never mind. I didn't have the Usergroup permissions enabled. It's working great now.

Thanks again.

im having the same problem. the whole feature is gone from the forums page. i uploaded the bitfield_track-guests.xml to the /includes/xml file then imported the product with overwrite set to yes. when i goto ...

admin cp > vB options > guest tracking

i dont see the option to select usergroups to view the mod. this is what i got ...

Quote:

Master Enable > Yes
Enable Display > Yes
Enable Views Tracking > Yes
Detect Spiders > Yes
Collapse Display > No
Rolling 24 Hours Option > Yes
Enable Most Ever Guests Option > Yes
Script Types to ignore > cron, login
Request Variables to ignore > explain, styleid, langid, referrerid, mode, nojs, goto
Database Clean-up Period > 2
Guest List Row Limit > 1000
Guest Views Row Limit > 500
Code Option > Run Code On Forum Home Page Only
ATCS: Enable > Yes
ATCS: Template Name > FORUMHOME
ATCS: Search Text >
i upgraded 'members who have posted' and 'members who have visited' without a hitch. nice work :) and thank you :D

oh crap ... its in the usergroup manager. lol. sorry for bothering you.:o

When you say "remove the executionorder" what do you mean? I see 4-5 places where it occurs...

Code:

<plugin active="1" executionorder="5">

Guest Tracking (2)

                        <hookname>cron_script_cleanup</hookname>
                        <phpcode>

Just remove the blue portion and I'm good to go?

Paul M 10-07-2007 09:54 AM

Assuming you are talking about running this on 3.5 - then at the very least you would also need to remove _slave from the queries - I also have no idea if the datastore calls will work.

vitrag24 10-07-2007 03:09 PM

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showp...&postcount=693
plz look at my query.

Paul M 10-07-2007 07:04 PM

Do you have a support issue ?

Yes I thought I had the _slave part right. Is this what you meant by "no idea if datastore calls still work"---Sorry I don't know really what that is but when I try to import it this is the error I get. This is a terrific mod that I have in a 3.6.8 forum that would be very helpful in the 3.5.

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.3:

Invalid SQL:

                REPLACE INTO phrase
                (varname, fieldname, product, text)
                VALUES ('setting_pemdata_desc','vbsettings','pem-dummy-product','Leave this setting alone.'),
                      ('setting_pemdata_title','vbsettings','pem-dummy-product','Modification Version Data');

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'fieldname' in 'field list'
Error Number : 1054

What you do is your choice, but the seperate mod is now withdrawn, support for it will cease at the end of 2007.

vitrag24 10-07-2007 09:16 PM

so do i need to remove that add-on to update all ur mods?

I'm sure there are more bits that won't work either. It's written for 3.6, simple as that. There is no 3.5 release, nor will there be - apart from anything else I no longer run any 3.5 forums.

If you can get it going in 3.5 then great, but I'm afraid my support is limited to the 'official' 3.6 code.

meissenation 10-08-2007 01:07 AM

Curious, and I appologize if it was mentioned else where in the 48 pages, vBulletin says "Currently Active Users: 20 (13 members and 7 guests)" while the Guest tracking says "Most guests online over 24 hours was 6" Why the difference between the two? Does vBulletin just count multiple instances of the same guest and this product smartly groups each instance of the guest?

Paul M 10-08-2007 01:15 AM

Have you had it installed for 24 hours yet ?

ericho 10-11-2007 06:57 AM

Hello Paul...it's Elizabeth Richardson here.

I installed this and got an incredible number of database errors, so have now uninstalled...I haven't read through the other posts, but just wanted to let you know of my challenge in case there is something that can be done...I am very grateful for all your work though.

Paul M 10-11-2007 07:04 AM

Without some clue as to what they were there is nothing i can tell you, but it sounds like it failed to install properly.

if i update all of your mods you updated before week then do i need to set permission for each usergroup speerately?
or globally it'll be set for all usergroups?

Paul M 10-11-2007 09:30 PM

I don't understand your question.

meissenation 10-14-2007 02:17 PM

Paul, is there any way possible to use https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=151601 GLA - Geographic Location Awareness with this? That would make this mod UBER sweet if we could see the Guest tracking and it showed the country where the guest's IP resolves to.

john2k 10-15-2007 07:59 AM

Paul, excellent work. Thanks a lot for making this mod. I just have a few questions for you.

Question 1:
Is there any setting that will remove the hyperlinks from what is displayed on the forumhome? If a usergroup is not permitted to view the Guest Visits List or the Guest Tracking data, maybe the links should not even be visible. I'm not sure, but it looks as though they will display but return the not logged in message for anyone who cannot view.

Question 2:
Is there a setting that will entirely turn off all tracking details other than the totals that are displayed on forumhome? Basically so that no data is collected for the guest visits list or the individual guest tracking pages.

Question 3:
What exactly does the Code Option do? Guest tracking for the homepage, forums and threads seems to work properly with "Run Code on the Forum Homepage Only" selected. I didn't notice anything different when I switched it to "Run Code on all pages." I'm not clear on what this option is for.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Paul M 10-15-2007 10:32 AM

1. No, not at the moment, I may change it in the future.

2. You can turn off the extra guest tracking in the modifications options.

3. It's for people who want to display the guest counts on pages other than the index page - some people like to do this, so the option is standard in all my homepage display mods. If you don't need it then just leave it as is.

Does doing that only turn off the display of guest tracking data or does it completely stop the data from being tracked and saved in the database?

The option to turn off the extra guest tracking would be the "Enable Views Tracking" option, correct?

The Code Option seems like it may be quite useful. If it is set to run on all pages, can the data be used individually or only as a whole? For example, are there variables that I could use to display only the total number of guests or visitors in the past 24 hours? So in effect, the only thing I would get from the variable is the number and I could take care of integrating that number into the site myself.

Paul M 10-15-2007 09:24 PM

It turns it off completely, no data is collected.

The total number of guests is $gueststoday (or $fgueststoday for the formatted version).
