If I wanted to add a game that I downloaded from somewhere what would I do? Step by step please.

Jenta 11-27-2005 06:11 PM

If the game is in tar format upload it to the folder named tar.
If it is in zip format upload it to the folder named zip.
Log into your admin control panel and on the left there is an arcade menu.
Click on Add Game.
Scroll to the bottom of the page that comes up and click install for the game you uploaded.
Done

OK, here is a roundup of the errors I have found so far.

In the Arcade, PM popups do not work. (I feel this is rather important, especially seen as the Arcade send out PMs.)

Tournaments: In a 4 player tournament (and maybe others), the text in the last "box" is incorrect. It shows: {user} has played {games played}has played best result: {result}

A few users have reported the Arcade logging them out after they have submitted a score.

Template problem:

Correct:

Incorrect (in the Arcade):

ok I have it installed and it is working good but so far all of the hig scores ect have worked but when i got the high scor on space invaders i got:

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved.

EDIT: I just got the same error with break out. at first i thought it was a gme problem cause noe one had a high score with space invaders but some one dose have an hig score with break out.

bonnmac 11-27-2005 07:49 PM

ok i fixed my problems what i had to do was comment out all the db queries in the install script took me 3 hours to go through thm 1by 1 but the arcade is now working except for the 80+ of the default games each lol thanks Mrzero for the new arcade

But ... some games which are zipped are not V3Arcade games but are IBproarcade games which have to be manually installed through filling out the fields in the Add Game screen in the ACP. This happened to me. The only way to tell is to unzip it and take a look. If it contains a php file then it's most likely a V3Arcade game. But if it contains a text file then it's an IBproarcade game and instructions for installing it are in the text file.

I'm getting the same problem as other people when I choose the ArcadeCP and create a tournament with 2 people

mySQL query error: SELECT userid, username FROM user WHERE userid IN() ORDER BY userid

mySQL error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') ORDER BY userid' at line 1
mySQL error code:
Date: Sunday 27th of November 2005 03:49:28 PM

paulmjno 11-27-2005 07:55 PM

I uninstalled the system, but I'm now getting the following:

http://img466.imageshack.us/img466/5...install5gr.jpg

How can I remove this?

TosaInu 11-27-2005 08:06 PM

Don't forget to upload includes/xml/cpnav_arcade.xml and then refresh the ACP.

Error confirmed. On my installation I get:

Quote:

mySQL error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') ORDER BY userid' at line 1

But it still created the tournament! Looks like we need a fix for this please

...if you want to add the game manually wether its a v3arcade or ibproarcade game......place the .swf file in the arcade folder....then place the .gif's in the arcade/images folder......then go to add game in the admin cp and put in the name of the game.....the gname is usually the name of the game with no spaces....for example say I was adding a game called race driving....the gname would be racedriving......you can then add the width and height or leave at default then check how it looks.

If I wanted the awards to appear in the user profile instead of the postbit, how do I go about doing that?

Hi, Great hack! I haven't tried all the features yet but so far have not noticed any errors. Anyway, I was wondering how to go about pulling my AJAX Shoutbox to show on the game screens, that way I can see when ppl are active in the site, while i'm off playing the games.

Thanx again,
memorex

P.S. I'm useing the AJAX Shoutbox by Z.T.

I brought up the template issue...they just told me to edit the arcade skin file. I tried, but no luck, but then again, I am not an HTML wizard.

I am getting this with most games, if I dont get it the score doesnt show on the main arcade page. Any info? I am sure its something stupid, I am pretty tired. lol

I have just been on the ibPro Games site and came across the IBPArcadeGames Guilds area.

Will a similar system for vB be made available? Or does one exist and I am too blind to see it?

This allows me to run the IBPro Arcade on my vB board, but I am talking about this.

So unless I have totally missed something...

You mean a Shop for Games ??

theArchitect 11-28-2005 07:30 AM

It does. They have two cool ones, this and a lottery system.

Basically it is kind of like of like uCash and uShop for vB. I suppose I should go and hassle Geeky designs.

Hello

is anybody having database error after installing the arcade? Random errors the site will go down for a minute and come back up error message includes online.php, showthread.php, and shout.php

wizardace 11-28-2005 11:56 AM

The only problem I got is this (the arcade works but I get this when I try to create a new usergroup):

Invalid SQL:

### INSERT QUERY GENERATED BY fetch_query_sql() ###
INSERT INTO vb3_usergroup

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'arcadepermissions' in 'field list'
Error Number : 1054

I assume I will have to alter the table but I don't know how. (and I can't find arcadepermissions on vb3_usergroup from phpmyadmin)

No one's reported anything like this so far. It must be due to the problem you stated in the other thread. ;)

SoftWareRevue 11-28-2005 04:21 PM

Others have mentioned it, but I'm gonna mention the not saving of scores again at index.php?act=Arcade&do=newscore

I don't have any rewrite tools. So, I ain't redirected nowhere. I just get a blank page. And no score is recorded. vb 3.5.1

TTG 11-28-2005 05:44 PM

Solved my problem of not being able to send scores :)
I had the old ibProArcade and ran the installer to update to this version, for some reason it duplicated some of the old games .. removed duplicated / re-installed the games and all now works well.

Everything is working GREAT! Except one issue.
When I go to my PM that issues after creating a tournament with another player and I, I click on link in PM and it just pulles up the following image:

I selected match 1 for both us and he gets same image.
Why?

I then hit refresh and got this message without even playing the game?
Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

You've already played 3 times for this round. Please wait till your opponent playes to see if you advance to the next round.
