I'm not sure how link to external files work.

1. I assume the external files location is hidden from visitor as well.
2. If so, when the visitors click on external link, do the bandwidth count on the external server as well as the main server?
3. Is there a limit download, say 1gb per day or per week?

I'd like to have those answer before trying out, and reply is greatly appreciated.

I was hoping hte external file was hidden but it's not, it takes them right to it....

I'm looking for something to hid the external file location but allow certian user gorups to access them.

I guess this won't be it.

Found a solution to my problem with rewriting rules on the vbseo forum.

I have another question: would it be possible to add a reputation button into the downloads? So if wanted users can give reputation whenever someone posted some downloads.

Thanks

Hi, my Problem is.

1. I cannot sort the categories. 1,2,3 does not bring the desired result.
2. And the under category attitude does not go also.

New Install i have the same Problems.

thanks
Mike

Yes, on the usergroup permissions page you can specify the categories which should be visible (not specified: invisible) OR the categories which should be invisible (not specified: visible).

I've set some categories only visible by some groups, but I see that files uploaded to those categories are still listed for everyone in Latest Files. How can i make it so it's only listed by those who have permission to view the categories?

I just noticed that all my comment counts are out. I did the update counters, and now they are all saying 0 when there are heaps of comments in many of the downloads.

I was hoping to get this fixed as the changelog says but problem is still there for me, too. Any update, please?

Sorry, that's a known limitation. There's no way around it right now.

Let me see what I can do. That's a real shortcoming with the "Update Counters" feature. The comments didn't exists when we first wrote "Update Counters" and we keep forgetting to include it. I may even give you a separate php file as a quick fix.

the hooks are already in place. If someone familiar with vbcredits wants to write the plugins, I'll help them on our end.
