thank you

use the mass credit updater tool in the acp under the vbcredits menu. select the groups you want to apply, no awards, and 0 base credits, and let it run.

I have vCredits and vBookie installed on my 3.6.9 forum now so i'm just waiting to hook the two together :D Thanks for any information.

yes, it was released during v1.3! if you still have the zip from 1.3 it is included in the extras folder, but if not, its normally found on my site. but its down right now, so PM me your email address and i will send it instead.

Hey i have a question about the paycheck system. I see two options for this and the 1st option is
"Interval for Activity and Paycheck Awards"
Number of days between each activity and paycheck award applications. Activity needs to be qualified according to the following setting.

and

"Paycheck Credit"
Applied every set time period with no particular restrictions.

Now i've set the intervals to 7 days and the amounts that each usergroup should get. These are my questions

Does the person have to be on the forums at least once a day? for the entire 7 days? and if so do they then get paid? (if that is the case what day do they get paid? and can that be set. like example every sunday,

Plz describe exactly how this function actually works because i really want to use this feature on my boards but im not sure of its complete functionality. Thanks for your great mod and i look foward to your response

Paycheck and Activity awards are similar to each other - they both get applied at the same time, but to get the activity award they need to meet your criteria for 'active', which is a setting in the award options.

So if they have [posted, logged in, searched, etc - depends on your setting] at least once during the time period, it counts. At the end of the time period and the start of another period, it checks if the person was active during the previous period, and awards accordingly. Note that if you have the Activity award selected in the applicable negation awards setting (also in awards options), then if they DONT qualify as active, the user will get (award amount) * (negation multiplier). Normally that would mean for a -1.5 negation multiplier and a 10 credit award, being inactive means you LOSE 15 credits :-p This was the old default until i made it optional. You may or may not want to do that so I am just letting you know.

When it actually happens is on a rolling basis starting from when you first installed the hack. I understand this can kinda be a little weird, so controls for adjusting the dates will be in the next major release.

Hi there,

I just installed VB credits.

Now all I want to do is manually give people points. I call them Mypoints

I was wondering with this mod can i do this.

1. Have points displayed under a members username called "Mypoints": 125 (number of points)

2. I want to manually give people these points. As they will only get them when they win a game of poker.

So thats all I want to do. Is this the right mod or is there a diff one I should use. I dont need all the options that come with this mod. just a few slight ones.

Regards,

Mucker:confused:

This is the option for intervals
Number of days between each activity and paycheck award applications. Activity needs to be qualified according to the following setting.

Ok i understand its on a rolling basis and it starts from the day of the hack install, But how often do they get paid? number of days between each activity. I thought that was how often they got paid, like every 7 days, But by what that option says is that they only have to be active once within the 7 days? is this correcct
and if it is then i'll set it to 1 so they have to be active every day, but i still dont know how often they get paid or how to set it.

Also if i set the negation to 0 does that mean if they are not active they lose the entire check? cuz thats what i want.

thanks for your help

so what do yall do with these??? any ideas of rewards etc? never seen this on a board before

KMDPEPSI 04-28-2008 07:43 PM

well one option would be to use it for an arcade system. so instead of all the games being free, people would have to use their points to play in the arcade.

im not sure, but you can ask - but you can integrate vbcredits with the casino hack here on vborg, and it would probably give out credits for winning. otherwise, i suggest you use the Post Award System which is a part of vbcredits. basicially it allows you to grant credits to other users that doesnt come out of your own account. you can limit this power in several ways if you would like even your entire board to do this to each other, but not get out of hand.

credits are normally displayed under their username in the postbit and profiles, if you do the template edits correctly :D (instructions in the zip), and anything you dont want to use can be easily disabled (such as the bank, which i know a lot of people dont want to use)

at the end of each time interval is when it checks and awards for activity (and paycheck, except that one doesnt check for anything). so if time period is set to 7, it will check at the end of each 7 days if they were active during the last 7 days. if its set to 1, it will check at the end of each day if they were active during the last day. if set to 3, they get paid every 3 days if they were active during the previous 3 days. :D

normally you wouldnt get the activity award (getting 0) for being inactive. but if the applicable negation award includes the activity award, they instead would get (activity award) * (negation multiplier). i dont recommnd changing the negation multiplier instead because that multiplier affects other awards when they get negated :-p (such as post/attachment/thread etc deletion)
if you dont want them to get anything for being inactive, then

pretty much anything can use credits eventually. some third party hacks need integration addons to be made, some are available from my site (click the link in the first post to go to the vbcredits product page which lists the ones i have so far). still more hacks come with the option to use a points system, such as the casino hack on vborg

Mucker 04-29-2008 01:39 AM

Thanks,

Couldnt get it to work properley, too many options for me.

BAsically the games of poker are on the likes of 888 and poker stars. So I dont want to intergrate with the casino hack.

I want something as simple as Icash, but no one seems to be helping out over there. And I hear its full of bugs. Myself couldnt get rid of the donate links it puts everywhere.

If someone plays my game I want them to recieve cash points whic they can spend in my shop. I would do most of it manually and just want them to earn cash for referals and playing my games.

Mucker:confused:

Darkwaltz4 04-29-2008 01:55 AM

yes, you can do that with vbcredits. however i think if you contact me via PM or IM, I can coach you through which settings you want to have enabled, and disable everything else. :D
