I'm afraid this is never likely to happen as the display is tied in with the online display.

The options below have now been added and v4.15 released.

Quote:

* Suppress the list of names - instead a simple names listing disabled message will be shown.

* Always collapse the names list on first view - i.e. whenever you view the homepage the list of names will always be collapsed - a member will have to click on the expand icon to view the contents.

There is no need to upgrade unless you want to use these options.

FYI - Their default settings reflect how previous versions worked. :)

I have imported the product into a 3.5.3 board. It is not working. It is on the forumhome correct?

http://www.tjsdjs.com/forums/index.php

I am installing it on a client's board. I installed it on mine and it worked... It is enabled in the product manager.

Paul M 02-06-2006 12:30 AM

It's working fine on the link you have provided ;

Quote:

Total members that have visited the forum in the last 24 hours: 998

TruthElixirX 02-06-2006 12:35 AM

Yes, it is now. I apologize. My client disabled the plug-in system and didn't tell me when I was trying to figure out the problem.-_-.

Thanks for the reply though!

TruthElixirX 02-06-2006 12:36 AM

See above. ;)

I had this old mod running fine with vb 3.0.7. Then today I updated my vb to 3.5.3 and this mod shows " Total users that have visited today:" and nothing afterward; no total number and no names as it used to be.

If I install this module, can I just import it with overwrite option? Or do I have to delete the old installation? If so, how to delete the old version? Also, how to check the version of this mod?

Thank you in advance.

I think I would end up the same, so I ask first how can I upgrade it.

OK. I figured it out now. I looked thru the previous version mod and remove the line in FORUMHOME template.. then installed this mod.

The upgrade instructions are in the first post, now you can click install ...... :)

nwingate 02-07-2006 03:19 AM

OK, I know I'm stupid. You need to uncomment something to switch the hack to 24 hours. What do I uncomment and where do I find this code to uncomment?

I wish the text file that was included with the download had some instructions. I've spent 20 mins looking through these 44 pages of content and still can't find the answer.

Paul M 02-07-2006 10:23 AM

You don't uncomment anything anymore - as per the first post ;

V13 02-07-2006 11:40 AM

I installed it and it works fine. Thanx for it man!

forumsoup.com 02-07-2006 09:27 PM

I put this on my site, love it, and clicked installed. Thanks!

Paul M 02-08-2006 03:34 AM

I've fixed a bug in the new install code so that it actually creates the index. If you have installed this for the first time in the last couple of days (i.e. v4.15) then I suggest you upgrade to v4.17 to create the index (note, while not strictly necessary, the index will improve performance of this on larger forums).

Luggruff 02-10-2006 11:40 AM

is there something I can add so that after "members who has visited the forum today: #" it will show how many guests that have visited? and a total of members and guests?

Paul M 02-10-2006 03:31 PM

Nope, there is no facility to include guests.

abadired 02-10-2006 03:57 PM

Hi Paul, I'm running 3.5.3 and your hack v4.11

Found out that my custom usergroups are unable to see the box (only default usergroups can see). Anyway I can fix this? will v4.17 fix this? please advise. Thanks.

Read the notes :)

Quote:

This has been there since v4.01 ;)

If you mean what template is used for the display then 'Display_Visitors'.

forte 02-12-2006 05:25 AM

How do I remove the whos_online.gif before the usernames?

Dreamchaser 02-15-2006 03:43 PM

Hi, I installed in my other fourm, but nothing gets displyed, what can be the problem, but it did not throw up any error previously on my old forums ?

Paul M 02-15-2006 03:47 PM

forte - edit the template.

Dreamchaser, you are not showing as having this installed.

CupraSi 02-15-2006 04:09 PM

Added as well

thanks Paul

mili 02-19-2006 03:03 PM

Is there a way not to have users who is set to invisible show up in the list?

mili

Paul M 02-19-2006 03:57 PM

Turn off the ability for members to see invisible users, that's standard vb functionality.

mili 02-19-2006 04:06 PM

I am not that dumb. Invisible members are indeed invisible in the Who is Currenty Online list but the who visited in the past X hours ignores that.

mili

Paul M 02-19-2006 07:44 PM

As yet you still haven't clicked install.

As the notes say;

Quote:

3. Invisible users are only displayed to those allowed to see them (with a "*")
This is just the same as all other areas of vbulletin (including the WOL and Active Users List).

BTW, this is not the 'who visited in the past X hours' hack, there is another one by that name.

BamaStangGuy 02-19-2006 07:49 PM

Just a suggestion but you may want to add rel=\"nofollow\" to the urls

Which urls ? and why, what does that do exactly ?

It makes the search engines not follow the links and not count it as a linkout.. basically makes the link non existent on the page in the eyes of a search engines so that your "pagerank" goes to your other links. Plus people with 200-300 members coming to their site a day dont want 200-300 active links to their member pages which will cause Spiders to spend their time visiting these links instead of spidering other more important parts of the forum.

Plus vBulletin by default adds relnofollow to the whos online section

PHP Code:

if ($today['visible'])
        {

$wrdate vbdate($vbulletin->options['timeformat'], $today['lastactivity']);

$whotoday .= "<a rel=\"nofollow\" href='member.php?u=$today[userid]' title='$wrdate' >";
            if (
$today['visible'] == 2
            {

$whotoday .= $today['opentag'].$today['username'].$today['closetag']."</a>*, ";
            }
            else
            {

$whotoday .= $today['opentag'].$today['username'].$today['closetag']."</a>, ";
            }
        }
    }
    if (
$whotoday)
    {

$whotoday substr($whotoday0strlen($whotoday)-2);
    }
    else
    {

$whotoday $vbphrase['no_visitors'];
    }

$search_text '<!-- end logged-in users -->';

$vbulletin->templatecache['FORUMHOME'] = str_replace($search_text,

$search_text.fetch_template('Display_Visitors'),$vbulletin->templatecache['FORUMHOME']);

That is where I added the rel=nofollow

Paul M 02-19-2006 07:59 PM

I see.

In that case, thank you for the suggestion. I'll add it to the next update. :)
