OK, I found out how to put in colour into a box, I left it blank in the stylemanager and when I put in a colourcode the box isn't blank anymore. The probelm I now have, I just want the backgroundcolour to appear in the mouseoverbox on the link and not elsewhere on the boards as it messes up my design.

Is there any option to just edit the background colour for the popup box and not having it on each <td> on the board? I have set all colours for each pop-up menu but still it's blank on a mouseover.

I went through the readme for 100 times now and did everything standing there, though this damn popup stays blank...

... any small hint, I am an idiot? :rolleyes:

Bonee - did you enter the CSS suggested in the readme? In other words: yellow box?? You dont need to edit all <td>'s - that would be a serious butt pain.

I just checked the offset and it looks like its working to me. Try clicking debug->rebuild (I had to do that for the settings to propagate).

First of all, thanks a lot for this great hack. The fun already started reading the initial post, I LMAO :)

Everything went smooth when I finally decided to read the manual (I used to think that was a women thing ;) )

I would like to request for a feature that just disables or enables the link function for any usergroup. In my eyes the current solution is a bit a work around. For example I don't want registered users to see the links anyway, I do want unregistered users (search engines) to see the links. Any chance you can add this to the hack (because it's great for SEO) or is there a possibility to do it with the current code and am I missing something?

I had the same error. Also, after I add the replacement code and styles when I try to add categories the pull-down menu for the replacement code is blank. During the "add styles" option I get a message that says: but it doesn't appear to save anything.

great hack geek! <clicks install>...Works perfectly...Funny thing is, I had some problems but they were all IO errors (idiot operator) LOL! I have to learn not to stay up all night and then try and install things....it's never easy when I do that..

That was fixed in the last update. You may have to rummage back through the thread to see if anything else is applicible - or download latest version and replace your includes/cron/GAL_cron.php file.

Hey Tom, Check your header template for the GALBox div tag. I checked your html and cant find it anywhere. You are also getting js errors saying it cant find the object. Chances are that you accidently removed it from your template or introduced a new style and maybe didnt remember to port it over.

I got the following probs:

-The links and also the boxes are invisible, i can see only the text, but the links work. I pasted the css code into the header template, just before $navbar.

-I guess it´s normal but on the "Display" page, the stats for "Standard Links" and "Glossary" just return "overview".

Im not sure what you mean by 'invisible' nor what you mean about putting the css in the header template.

You should put the GALbox <div> tag in the header template and add optionally add the css to your additional css definitions box in your admincp.

No stats will display if there are no records to show. If you have links that are being tracked for stats but they are not showing - than most likely your throttle is set pretty low and the cron job is taking care of the stats.

Both of these are discussed in more detail in the readme. If you can - post a link as it is easier to see the problem you are having.

It most likely occured because you had 2 instances of the key that the GISH installer was searching for (almost always a result of previously modifying the file). However its no big deal. Heck - its will be twice as easy to find you GAL settings now ;)

Really - all you have to do is edit your admincp/index.php file... search for GAL and remove one of the blocks.

Superb news on the sponsors beating down your door. In many peoples opinions, this system is significantly better for sponsors than a banner system as it is better targeted and a bit subversive. Me? I think it kicks ass.

Roll on the GUSH system that will allow you to set up an automatic shop to sell keywords and/or GAB banners :)

Have vb3.0.7 and just upgraded to autolink v4.02. Upgrade went fine but had a few "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: process_gal_text() in blah/blah/includes/functions_showthread.php on line 651 and Fatal error: Call to undefined function: persist_gal_impressions() in blah/blah/showthread.php on line 1939" after creating the categories, styles, test autolink, etc and saving the settings.
After reading some previous post I assume it has something to do with global.php. The installer did not upgrade global.php nor did it list it as a manual edit. It's not in the gish folders at all. Do you have the code needed for the function definitions in global.php

Browse to the install page, click the install path, then scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a link for manul install instructions.

The links are invisible because they have the same color as the background. But i gave every possible color tag on Yellow.

I placed the DIV code into the header and the CSS into the "additional css defininitions.

Those 3 geeky styles i added show up correctly in the ACP but i can?t see any geek style definitions in the source code, except the ones i added manually.

Didn't help! I Did an uninstall, flushed out the database, reverted back to the original php files ect. Then did a fresh install from the ground up and Everything working fine now!!

funnily enough wirewolf - I stumbled across these yesterday working on the stats system for GAB. I was quite shocked to see no one had flagged them before. I also noticed a couple other minor issues sith it as well which I will most likely put off until either GUSH is released or I port this to vb3.5.

Tradjick - the problem isnt with the popup styles, its with the link style. I assume you are using the DEFS CSS I provided as an example in the readme. This is what you would have placed in your additional CSS section. In there is the colour that is defining your links as the same colour as the background.

This is awesome - THANKS!! Now, is there a way to limit a number of links in an entire thread? Some threads mention the same keyword over and over. I've limited it to 1 link per post, but when the word is mentioned in every single post in a thread, it can get annoying.

It can only limit per post as the linking function gets called each post.

Hey t3, Im on the road again so its difficult for me to investigate - however I am pretty sure that it does work. Just double check and make sure that the profile field is set to a valid option and that it contains the textual value.

In other words, it your profile field is a combo box with the options yes and no, that the text yes is what you put in the value field. I made the mistake of putting in 1 when I needed to put in 'No thanks, ads suck' as that was what the textual value was for the combo box I defined (hope that makes sense!).
