I have installed this product today on 4.2.2, too, but it does not show the photos.

I tried both the manual upload and the import system from vbulletin albums. The folders are created correctly, but they remain empty.

When switching to full path, I see the browser's placeholder, otherwise the "missing image" image.

I've been digging into the code but could not work out the problem. Maybe the lines (class_import.php), at "$filedir = $filedir . '/' . $path[$m];"?
PHP Code:

                $filedir $this->registry->options['dbtech_gallery_filepath_text'] . $old_image_data['instanceid'];

$path preg_split('//'$old_image_data['userid'],  -1PREG_SPLIT_NO_EMPTY);

                for (
$m 0$m count($path); $m++)
                {

$filedir $filedir '/' $path[$m];
                }

In manual upload via dialog boxes however I could not see anything wrong.

Have you set the maximum and minimum sizes in your option before importing? I also ask Dylan at the time if this mod could import all the picture that your mod imports, but I'm still waiting lol. Do you think this would be possible?

Yes sure, but then eventually you would use twice as much space, since they are not linked together.

Looks like the search needs to escape the search parameters '(' ')'...

See: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/...t-boolean.html

A fix...

In the following components... These fix the SQL issue

./dbtech/gallery/modules/gallery/actions/search.php

PHP Code:

for($n=0;$n count($query_array);$n++)
{

$element preg_replace("/[^A-Za-z0-9]/"''$query_array[$n]); //remove all special characters

if ($element != "")
    {

$boolean_query .= '+' $element '* ';
    }

./dbtech/gallery/modules/gallery/functions/class_module.php

PHP Code:

            for($i=0$i count($query_array); $i++)
            {

$element preg_replace("/[^A-Za-z0-9]/"''$query_array[$i]); //remove all special characters

if ($element != "")
                {

$boolean_query .= '+' $element '* ';
                }
            }

PHP Code:

            for($n=0;$n count($criteria_array);$n++)
            {

$element preg_replace("/[^A-Za-z0-9]/"''$criteria_array[$n]); //remove all special characters

                {

            }

PHP Code:

How can I make the editor image show up in the quick reply, also? The button that lets you add pictures from the gallery on to your posts.

Thanks.

DragonByte Tech 09-18-2014 11:58 AM

I don't believe that's possible at this time, sorry :(

Is it possible to make this work with a PDF? I need that function, how do I add PDF to the files that are allowed.

DragonByte Tech 10-12-2014 12:36 AM

Unfortunately not at this time, sorry :(

How do you change the name so it doesn't say "dragon byte gallery" when you go to the main gallery page? Is that only an option in the pro version?

Also, when I go to upload an image, it keeps saying not a supported file type, even though it is.. Like if I upload a jpg it will say I tried to upload an unsupported file then it lists the kinds that are supported and jpg is one of them.

Thanks.

Go to your admincp scroll down to Languages & Phrases then click on Search in Phrases.
Put dragon byte gallery in the search then click on find. You will see all parts that have that. you can edit and change as you wish.

JohnScag 10-14-2014 11:03 PM

^^

Thanks for that I appreciate it.

So still though having problems with uploading images. It's still saying every file type is not supported.

Anyone?

I purchased DB Gallery and paid for it to be installed and I am still waiting for some sort of correspondence.

I installed this yesterday and so far, very good. My only complaint is that the thumbnails in the random thumbs at the top of my forum seem to generate pretty slowly. Never had that type of delay when using previous galleries. I used VBGarage for years and recently after updating my forum tried Photoblog. Both of those generated the thumbs very fast. Why so slow with this one?

One other question. Under settings, general options, gallery layout there is an option for VBStyle or New. I have switched back and forth and see no difference. Is that only for if you create a new style or what?

Thanks for a good mod.

dknelson 11-27-2014 09:47 AM

Has anybody figured to a way to add a link to the user's gallery from their postbit and from their profile?

kylek 11-27-2014 05:18 PM

THinking of trying this out but looked at a few sites that have this installed and have yet to see one where the categories showed. Does anyone have the categories showing?

...this is just one man's opinion

Photopost vbGallery
Photopost has been around for years with their product and it has had time to mature and is a pretty clean and refined product now. Photopost works well but can be a little intimidating setting it up and tweaking it to get it the way you want it. On the other side the support for vbGallery I have found to be almost non-existent. If you have an idea or an issue, don't hold your breath on getting it fixed/implemented. Their updates are few and far between and don't expect any new features/additions in the lifetime of your product license - they will most likely not be coming. I believe Photopost became complacent because up until now competition was lacking, especially on the vBulletin side for galleries.

Dragonbyte Gallery
Dragonbyte Gallery is a new product. From it's initial release just two months ago to the current product I think it has come a long way. The initial setup is much more straight forward (as compared to Photopost) and user friendly enough even for a novice. Support is second to none (as is with all Dragonbyte products from my experience). Every suggestion and comment made to them is truly taken into consideration. Their implementation of bug fixes, tweaks and additional features seems to be continual. The only thing that I believe holding Dragonbyte Gallery back at this point is the lack in number of users and good feedback, since it is such a new product. My suggestion is to jump on board and give it a run - I don't think you will be disappointed, this product is going places! Use it, let them now what you like and don't like. The more feedback they get, the better the product we all will get.

Like I said at the top, I believe it is almost inevitable the way things are going that the true leader in vBulletin gallery software will soon be Dragonbyte Gallery.

I agree with a lot of this opinion but not all. I disagree with the part about support. I have been a user of Photo Classifieds for many years and have found the support to be very good. A bit abrupt at times but I'm sure that I would get that way also if I had to answer the same questions over and over again. Especially from people like me who simply didn't read the install instructions closely enough. I recently upgraded to the newest version of Photo Classifieds and am very impressed with it.

I'm a relatively new user of DragonBytes software. I AM a paying customer of the Thank You mod pro version and it works very well. I presently have the Lite version of Gallery installed and have mixed feelings. At this time, I am really struggling with the decision to stick with it or go with PhotoPost. A couple of small missing but I think essential features is one reason and the fact that I can't seem to get a response at the Dragonbytes forum is the main reason. I am getting a database error. I posted about it at his forum and have received no response. I typically get a response at the PhotoPost forum at least within a couple of hours. From a style standpoint, that is where the polished Photopost has a bit of an advantage. A lot of options for small things like the frames around images and etc. that really help tailor it to the look that you want. I think that would be a nice feature to be added to the Pro version.

I have also asked about adding a link to the users gallery from the Postbit and also their Profile. To me those are very basic and essential features. I posted a question about it on the Dragonbyte site about 3 days ago and not a single response. I posted some code that ALMOST works but not quite. I'm sure that somebody who is a real coder could answer it within minutes but nothing.

At this point, I am leaning towards PhotoPost again due to the lack of support from DragonBytes. It is even causing me to have some buyers remorse about buying the pro version of the Thank You mod.

I admit though that the Gallery is a nice product and other than a couple of small things that should be standard even in the lite version, I think they have done a good job with it.

kylek 11-28-2014 10:11 PM

I was an avid photopost user (use on 4 sites) but am now looking for alternatives since they have raised the forum support yearly access from $39 to $99 a year. And wouldn't you know it, a week after mine expired I needed the info thats sitting in a support thread to move a photopost pro gallery to another server and to get it now it will cost $99 to get access to their support forums.

dknelson 11-28-2014 10:13 PM

OK...I'm not a coder by any means so this took me longer than I really want to admit. I've seen this asked a few times though so here is what worked for me.

Edit template "Postbit".

Now you can put this where you want but this puts it just under the username in the Postbit.

In template "Postbit". Find:

Code:

{vb:raw post.onlinestatus}
Just after that, paste:

Code:

<div class="smallfont"><a href="http://www.yoursite.com/forum/dbtgallery.php?do=view_user&id={vb:raw post.userid}">User Gallery</a></div>
Of course change the URL to the actual URL to your specific forum.

dknelson 11-28-2014 11:13 PM

By the way, the next thing I want to do is to change the link in the members profile to point to the DBGallery. I see no reason to have two different galleries so plan to disable the builtin VBulletin gallery. Hopefully it will be easier for me to figure out.

kylek 12-01-2014 07:59 PM

Anyone point me in the direction of what these errors show? I think its installed right but when I upload a photo I get the missing image and these errors at the top.

kylek 12-01-2014 08:24 PM

Found the problem and its fine now.

In image options > image upload path I had full path to where you want images uploaded to. Switched it back to the default dbtech/gallery/images/upload/ and its all working now with no errors.

When we go to delete an image the delete popup box flies in and flies halfway off the right hand side of the screen. Anyone know where to find the setting for this?

Nearest I can find is the left setting but cant find where to change it.

element {
display: inline;
left: 1315px;
top: 1417px;

I've installed this mod last week and everything went smooth and it is easy to get around, the two thing that i don't know is after upload a picture then it show a white page with save all , if i skip it or not it doesn't break any thing just wonder why it there.

The second thing is the comments system not support other language or unicode, is there any way to fix this. thank you.

Ps:Thank DragonByte for this nice mod.

Does this happen on a default (unmodified) skin? What's your resolution?

When i'm posting a picture and writing in vietnamese it ok, but only when i'm comment on after posted the words came out like this:

"nh%u00E2n nghĩa , testing"

Is there any where that i can add some utf-8 support for that, thank you.

I'll will check php.ini on my server.

For this mod and the donation system, when I look at "installed mods" they show "upgraded". The version numbers are the same as I have installed though. Why is that?

Because the current version was patched without bumping the version #

dknelson 12-09-2014 03:02 PM

So what is the upgrade procedure? Just upload all the new files and reimport the XLM with "overwrite"?

ozzy47 12-09-2014 03:33 PM

Yeah that would be the safest bet. :)

dknelson 12-09-2014 03:46 PM

Thank you.

ozzy47 12-09-2014 03:53 PM

Not a problem. :)

highlander_RD 12-09-2014 04:29 PM

Uninstalled. Good idea, but images can't be uploaded (CHMOD is already set to 777).
I opened a support ticket, but got no naswer. Maybe the lite version is not supported.
Let's pass on.

dknelson 12-09-2014 04:44 PM

I may not be understanding what you mean but if I go the the store folder, I have xml.gz file being saved there when the sitemap runs. Also using the Lite version.

That does bring me to another question though. That folder will get very full pretty quickly. How often should those files be deleted and do they even need to be saved since they are being auto submitted? Do the search engines access them from there?

Fillip

yes, it does it on a plain jane default style. Use 1650 x 1050 but have checked on other resolutions and it does the same.

Thinking it may be something else we have installed conflicting I started to disable each one. Right now it seems the issue is with your vbeditor tabs. If I disable it the delete popup works correctly. Enabled it is pushed over to the right side half off the screen.

We have 11 tabs for smilies categories and in the normal vbulletin editor they work fine, lower resolution they make two rows.

When in edit image in the vbgallery the vbeditor tabs are displayed but this seems to push the delete popup off to the right side. Now if they could be removed or set to not to show on the gallery editor things would be good.
