How can I have a maximum characters in the description shown at the main page?

If you don't mind me asking.. Where are the high scores saved on the database for members? A person had 2 game tabs open, and the score he got one from has been transferred to his second tab. I'd like to give him the hi-score of the first game that is supposed to go to his first, rather than his second. But I can't find anything in the database.

Gracias. Found it. Is it normal though? That if you have 2 game tabs open, the score of 1 game goes to the second one.

It is something you may want to highlight to the developers on www.vbadvanced.com - they should be able to add some code to track sessions which will prevent this from happening :)

For IBPro Games (tar) and v3a (zip)
There are tons of sites that supply 'converted' games that work with the arcade, IPB v32 games which come as .tar files and v3 Arcade games which are .zip files - you simply upload the .tar or .zip files to your 'admincp/games' folder via FTP and then in AdminCP>v3Arcade>Import Games>Choose the Mass Import option that coincides with either .tar or .zip and click Start.

Manually Install Games
If the files are just .swf you would need to add them manually and would also need to upload 2 images to go with each game. To do this the .swf gets uploaded to your 'forumroot/games' folder and the two images (one 20*20px and one 50*50px) get uploaded to your 'images/arcade' folder. You would then need to go into your AdminCP>v3Arcade>Install Games>Manually Add Game, then fill in the details........

Using Pacman as an example

Game Title: simple enough ie Pacman
Description: blah blah blah
Category: You choose
Game Shortname: If the swf is pacman.swf the shortname is pacman
Game System: Mochi, v3 Arcade or IBPro
Description: Eat dots. Kill ghosts
Instructions: Arrow keys to move.
Keywords: dots, ghosts, classic, retro, pacman
Game SWF File: pacman.swf
Height: 400 (varies per game)
Width: 550 (varies per game)
Standard Thumbnail Image: pacman1.jpg (uploaded to images/arcade)
Miniature Mode Thumbnail Image: pacman2.jpg (uploaded to images/arcade)

Then fill in the last couple of details.

Firstly you would need to know if the .swf had been decompiled and altered to allow submission of scores to either v3arcade or IPB Arcade, unaltered .swf won't record scores. Mochi games can be uploaded using the exact same process.

*Can't post any sites where you can obtain IPB games on vbulletin.org because it is against their site rules but a simple Google search should give you plenty of sites.

Remember if you've upgraded your vbulletin with the release of 4.1.11 you may need to re-apply the file edits to index.php in order to save IPB game scores

What do you mean you can't see any games - in the game list? when you click to play? games to install via AdminCP?

Does it work using a browser other than Chrome?

Do you know if your server is running mod_security? (You may need to ask your host)

Also, did you CHMOD 777 the correct folders?

For Mochi games to submit scores you will need to place the crossdomain.xml in your site root; not your forum root. Also, you will need to make sure games are leaderboard enabled games so that scores can be submitted.

Does this have the ability to integrate with any of the cash/store platforms like vBBux or uCash?

first thank you gemma for this arcade i am coming from ipb i have testet dbarcade and now i am parking HERE!.all working fine score safe!!!!
the only problem is a way to mass move games to there Categories?
I have about 25000 games to add than move them to there Category. All i can see is a single downdown box for Each game and i simple dont have the time just yet for that thank you i am wating your reply!!!!

Here's a quick tip for anyone moving to v3 Arcade from DBTech Arcade.......

I have noticed that when i complete one of these arcade games i receive this message:

...., you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Where's the problem?

Do you know what type of game you've been playing - ie IPB v32 games, Mochi Games, v3 Arcade games and does it happen with all browsers or just one specific browser?

Without knowing what type of arcade games are causing the problem it is hard to say where the problem may lie. Also, have you checked the support forums @ vbadvanced.com?

In the arcade archive you should see a file called crossdomain.xml

Upload that file to your site root and your games should work.

very nice addon ...is there a setting that perhaps u havent ticked that allows you to see which members are viewing or playing in the arcade and if not is there any code that can be put in ....thanks

I wanna know something. Session timeout is default 900 seconds in vb options. I've noticed while playing one of these games more than 900 seconds i have been automatically logged out. I know that these seconds can be increased to fix this but this means that vb doesn't count as activity on forum while we playing games, am i right?

Nothing yet. There was an old Who's Online Add-on but it wasn't updated to work with the newer version of the arcade (a few people have made the update themselves but none have shared their code as far as I'm aware). It has been requested on the support forums but nothing has materialised yet.

When playing a game you are effectively 'idle' in other forum activity.

Increasing your Session Timeout and making sure the 'Remember Me' box (there are plugins which do this) is ticked when logging in should solve any problems.

well this is a must have for me thanks for info ....i also have another small issue i will attach a pic but in my permissions in acp and this is for every user group ..i am useing admin user group as the pic example there is a field that is blank ...

i am using 4.1.11 on my reg site and my test site is 4.1.10 and on test the field is fine is there a code i can input to fix this ????
