Anyone with my above problem, the answer was on page 36, and likely elsewhere...

Go to your plugins manager.
Look for the plugin with the word runbox in the name. Either 1) Disable the plugin or B) delete the plugin. Do that only for this plugin not the whole product.

During register a customer tells me he gets this error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE, expecting ';' in /home2/makingf1/public_html/ladiesletsride/forum/fbb/runbox_hook_register_addmember_complete.php on line 5

what can i do to fix this?

BRotondi 03-09-2010 02:36 PM

Just had an idea: We have a usergroup "unregistered" in vB which allows to post without registering.

Improve this for your facebook bridge: Post through a usergroup "Facebook" which allows Facebook Users to post without registering. But the name beyond "Facebook User" will be verified through your bridge.

Perhaps this way it's even possible to edit a post, but this for later... For now it would be already a great help, that "by the way"-users can post verified without registering.

What do you think about idea and makability?

Anyway: Nice work, your bridge!
Bruno

There is a conflict between the vaultwiki Addon and YAFB (Look here: http://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/1241/)

Anybody this problem, too ?

BizAdventure 03-09-2010 11:49 PM

I think the whole parse error thing here is funny...but it should be part of the instructions since it is so common. Ha. Just an opinion.

Blacura 03-10-2010 12:49 PM

Is there a way that existing members can log in with their facebook. some have asked how they can tie their accounts together

Yes, login in your vB-Forum an use the "Connect to Facebook-Link", e.g. http://www.mydomain.com/forum/profile.php?do=fbb and follow the onscreen instructions...

hollosch 03-10-2010 02:05 PM

Using the same/not the same
Email-Adresses could maybe the problem ?

Blacura 03-10-2010 02:12 PM

I'm not sure but it will not let you combine the accounts

Works !!!
You MUST set a link for logged-in users e.g. in the navbar: http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/profile.php?do=fbb

can you please delete my account at your forums? Thanks.

P.S. you do not need the full path like I did. My site runs across sub domains so I have to use full path all the time.

This is great....it worked on my site perfect!

Blacura 03-11-2010 03:30 AM

Can anyone tell me how my existing members can log in using the facebook connect with out having to create a new name

ps2wiz 03-11-2010 06:53 AM

MAJOR PROBLEM!

Whenever a new user is registering on my forum and they click to complete the registration, They receive an internal 500 error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error
The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.
Detailed Error Information
Module FastCgiModule
Notification ExecuteRequestHandler
Handler PHP_via_FastCGI
Error Code 0x00000000
Requested URL http://mydomain.com:80/register.php?do=addmember
Physical Path D:\hc\register.php
Logon Method Anonymous
Logon User Anonymous

I now disabled this mod until there is a fix.

chuckrobbie 03-11-2010 08:31 AM

I get logged with Facebook in but if I click to register I get errors!

Then when I want to edit my avatar
I get this...
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE, expecting ';' in .../fbb/runbox_hook_register_addmember_complete.php on line 5

Then I tried to log in again and i get this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.' in .../includes/class_core.php(4010) : eval()'d code on line 152

Please can someone help??

BBR-APBT 03-11-2010 12:17 PM

How can you guys even run a forum if you fail to read when your answers are posted over and over in this thread.

Look through the thread regarding runbox and disabling a plugin.

chuckrobbie 03-11-2010 12:41 PM

Well I did read and I did remove the RUNBOX!
I still have this problem!

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.' in /../includes/class_core.php(4010) : eval()'d code on line 152

I cannot edit my profile or avatars without this happening

txsbmw 03-11-2010 02:55 PM

I just want to make clear to everyone that unlike what it says in the instructions you MUST have mysql 5 installed to install this mod. His instructions say its recommended and not required when it is in fact required!

about the error that i've fixed (thx to [name]BBR-APBT[/name]) now i can edit my avatar and select the connection with FBB, BUT when i try to synchronize my avatar i got the following error ...

Code:

Warning: tempnam() [function.tempnam]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/fniv/:/tmp:/var/tmp:/usr/local/lib/php/) in [path]/includes/class_upload.php(384) : eval()'d code on line 12
however i wanna notice that the synchronization runs correctly ... but i've still this error ...

Thanksss!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I thought until yesterday when I was advised by a user about the vb registration page not displaying correctly in Chrome - see image - and on checking it's distorted in IE8 all well, although not so badly.

I can only solve the problem by disabling this mod, which is a real shame as it was proving to be a useful feature.

I first asked on vb.com and got this reply:

I can't remember seeing this mentioned before when I read this thread, I've done a search and can't find anything, and so has anyone got any ideas?

BTW - I've disabled the RUNBOX before anyone asks! :D

chuckrobbie 03-13-2010 12:59 PM

This MOD can quite easily be described as the 'most needed' !
If there is anything people HATE and that is having to continuously fill in forms!

I too have now given up and disabled it!
AND yes, I too have disabled the RUNBOX!

I hope that all the little annoyances are soon solved!

ShadowTurk 03-13-2010 11:59 PM

Is there any way in fixing infinite loops of logging into my site from the bridge? I'm sure it's a bug, but I wanted to get some input from here.

This is what a friend of mine who's a member of my site had told me.

--------------
"I just found a bug that made me go into an infinite loop of logging in. i released my cache earlier in the day due to a php project I'm working on, so i obviously got logged out of this site by that. I logged into facebook, checked it then proceeded to head over to this site via the same tab.

I forgot that I wouldn't be logged in and just clicked forum out of habit. I then got stuck in a loop of "now logging in via facebook" ..... every time it refreshed the page, it just pulled me back to "now logging in via facebook".

Jabong82 03-15-2010 03:29 AM

Um ok I am stuck on this one at the registration.

When I enter my API key and Secret Code, I don't get any templates. It just saves and nothing happens.

Anybody else have this problem?
