Darkvision has been revised.

Amadeusmq 02-15-2012 01:46 AM

TalkTemplate,

Are you still getting emails to your contact email address for premium users? I sent in a fairly extensive bug report on 3 major bugs with your newest version and wanted to make sure you received it.

Hi,

Please try the demo and see if you're experiencing the same errors on our side? If not, we may have some alternative solutions to help you out.

I too am having this issue with the reg and white version of the template. It works on your demo, but is completely whited out on my side.

www.mosaicfw.org/modis

Also, the editor is defaulting to the code instead of the WYSIWYG editor, but then the WYSI editor has a white background and I can't see any text in it. Screenie's attached.

Thanks for any help!

Got the same problem with the TalkTemplate.com [Fixed] version. It works in your demo but not my site (http://www.doder.org/)

rfranklin 02-23-2012 05:57 PM

I've been fixing the small stuff as I go rather than waiting for an update. I find there's been a lot of talk and less template....lol. Literally!

I have to agree.

I have this free verison of the style but I have so many issues with it which spoils what is actually a nice style...

My search bar icon is for some reason aligned incorrectly, the colours in the login box cause problems when typing your details; they cannot be seen. The I assume new "saving draft" feature in vbulletin 4 when typing a new post is highlighted in yellow and you cannot see the text. The colour schemes are many a time problematic again in the same way... The old alt1 / alt2 colours need modifying to suit better and it also feels more post icons are needed in some places.

I am most disappointed and was going to part with $22 for the Pro version, but for what feels like a half finished style, I am not sure whether it is justified. Is it any better in the Pro version or will I be trying to complete the style like this version?

Is it just me or is this really how this style comes?

Matt

We're working on a free version release for the cms and the login box colors.

rfranklin 02-24-2012 05:40 AM

For those with the "settings" menu missing from the top, near the login information, just revert the "header" template or replace all of the code with the [Show Default] code. If you are using anything else customized it may be affected and would need to be adjusted but it seemed to be fine for me after I did that.

TalkTemplate 02-24-2012 12:40 PM

Updated. We have removed the yellow and white free versions. They're too much to support in addition to the blue version.

s0ur 02-24-2012 01:31 PM

Ya know, the editor box is still white on white.

Would you mind trying it on talktemplate.com and letting us know if its still white on white?

s0ur 02-24-2012 02:38 PM

I am not about to sign up for a forum JUST to see if the editor box is white/white. I'll just move on.

Please do as you wish.

We're simply providing theme support for free.

s0ur 02-25-2012 12:02 AM

And more signups to your own site, good tactics.

Umm if you havn't noticed at the top it does say "supported" meaning support the product. You make it seem like we should bow down to you for providing support on something that is labeled as supported.

There have also been several posts about how horrible the bugs are in this skin https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=618, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=639, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=634, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=632

Not to mention this fellow, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=624

I could go further into the posts and quote more if you'd like :)

So if this is the case, remove the bit that this style is "supported" and stop making an ass of yourself.

p.s. Making someone post a minimum of 5 times JUST to get the Banner PSD is laughable.

Sorry, we provide limited support, but we do provide updates for every version of vBulletin. (it has been over a year's worth of countless edits)

If you don't like our free support, either upgrade to pro or find a free style that offers the support you need.

If you look around vB.org, you'll notice that dark skins require a great deal more revisions than light styles. This is due to vBulletin's incessant changes to their template engine, to the point where any change will make a dark style render incorrectly (defaults back to white).

Since you seem to have the time, actually try looking around and you'll notice that the majority of Dark Skins have the "horrible bugs" you mentioned above. I don't want to bring my fellow developers into this, but many of them have even stopped releasing updates. But, you're free to keep searching for the free skin with instant updates you're looking for.

Actually, we don't need more sign ups. We have over 28,000 and much fewer posts. If you think our request to ask you to sign up to test a skin with your browser is too much, then please don't bother using the free skins we've spent hundreds of hours over countless months developing.

We try to solve these bugs in a timely manner, but, again, if the free version isn't what's for you, please move along. You're not accomplishing anything here.

Amadeusmq 02-25-2012 12:31 AM

Yea, seriously, spend a little money -- it's not like it's expensive.

By the way, all of my bugs are now fixed. I just created an admin account for TalkTemplate and he came and fixed it all up. As he mentioned, there are some bugs with vbulletin that require 'hard coding' fixes, and that's not his fault. My only worry now is I'm nervous to upgrade since it's all working right now ;)

So, yea, spend the money and then email with your bugs and he'll fix it on your site.

Thank you for your testimonial.

By testing the bugs for us and allowing us to test the bugs for you, we can better assess the situation. We want to help our users and valued customers, free or premium, so that we can add the bug fixes we found on your site to the public download for everyone to use.

Amadeusmq 02-26-2012 07:42 AM

I sent a message this evening with a bug that I just noticed. They came to my site and fixed it within a few hours.

As far as I can tell, the style is working on my site without any bugs that I can see. My site is uber heavy traffic, but decent traffic (and it's been up using vbulletin since 2005.) I don't want to post the link here since I'm sure there are rules about that, but feel free to PM me if you want the link to check it out on a live/functioning forum.

The reason I'm doing this is because I feel as though I got the better end of the bargain and want everyone to know it. $22 for a style that looks better than any other out there, clearly took a lot of time/energy to create, AND they come to your site and fix any bugs you have. This is what is known as a 'steal'. My biggest fear is that the author will 'burn out' and stop updating someday and I'll have to stop updating vbulletin to keep the style working!

For some reason in my editor the text input is white and the editor body field is white. Makes input a little difficult. Is there a fix for this? really want to byt he "pro" version but want to amke sure this is working properly first.

Same here. My WYSI editor background is white (the source editor is fine).

However, the fix released the 24th DID solve my login boxes. Thank you! Almost there!

Hostboard 02-27-2012 07:40 PM

Does anyone know which stylevar controls the text color for the body of the message??? We can easily change it if so...

bbuehne 02-27-2012 08:22 PM

Ok, found it. If you edit:

editor_contents.css

(user CP - Styles and Templates - style manager - chose edit template options from dropdown box next to go button. Double-click 'CSS templates' in left box, then 'editor_contents.css)

The code controlling the text and background in the WYSIWYG editor is in this section at the very top:

body,
body.content {
font: {vb:stylevar content_msg_font};
color: #ffffff;
/* Remove the background color to make it transparent */
/*background-color: #fff;*/
background-color: #25292C;
margin:0px;
padding:8px;
}

Color controls font color and back-ground color of the editor. I've edited my text to be white at the background the gunmetal blue of the forums. The old code in those lines was:

color: {vb:stylevar postbit_color}
background-color: {vb:stylevar wysiwyg_textbox_background.backgroundColor}

Are you able to see user's ips? Do you think you understand how ip ranges work? If you're implying that we have multiple accounts, please ask an admin or moderator to check for you (permission given if necessary). We have no need to create fake testimonial for our service on a site where we offer our templates for free ;)

Additionally, we have many customers, many of which have given us testimonials for our products and support.

TalkTemplate 03-01-2012 06:01 AM

We're leaving all of our competitors in the dust.

Darkvision Pro and Free have been updated for vBulletin 4.1.11 already.

vB.org doesn't even have to option for us to check of the version 4.1.11 yet!

All of these issues were fixed. We're looking into why it wasn't reflected in the upload.

We're working with vBulletin on this. It seems that some template revisions can't be changed. They just revert back to the previous version. We found a huge error in their styling system. We'll update you in 24 hours.

m002.p 03-01-2012 10:35 AM

I want to buy the Pro version but the amount of bugs reported in this free version seriously concerns me. Is this the same in Pro or is that version a finished style?

I have downloaded this free style and although impressive on the whole, alot needs to be done to bring it to a completed style in my opinion.

Any reassurance would be appreciated before I part with money...

TalkTemplate 03-01-2012 03:32 PM

Fixing. Please check back shortly.

Thats only the problem i got and the others i manage to fix it .. only that thing.
so hope You can fix it soon ....

SabishiiRyuu 03-01-2012 04:14 PM

I have the same issue as HellChipz. Many of the boxes appear in WHITE. My vBul version is 4.1.10 so I don't think it has anything to do with the 4.1.11 mess.. or does it?

Hostboard 03-01-2012 04:24 PM

It is not a bug or at lest that is what they claim. This is the default behavior of VB. They use product filtering, thus stylevars are filtered by product (CMS, Blogs, Forums) A major pita? yes.

Should vote for an improvement request:
