This is the signature user inserted. The default is OFF so the user has explicitly turned it on - Also the signature is customizable so it's really up to the user what they choose...

We can, however, add an extra warning? Or perhaps control it from serverside??

Ahhh OK My bad I don't have access to an I-phone If my member is choosing to promo it thats a whole different thing, she is very happy thus far with it, and was especially pleased today that she could view a video in a post.

Just to make sure every forum Admin is very clear on this, none of your users will be able to make posts unless they buy the full blown version. The free read only version allows them to read only, (fairly obvious). My own forum users absolutely hated the fact that this app advertised itself when they logged in, and that to use it properly would cost them money. Now completley uninstalled.

You could disable the "advertising itself" by not using the javascript code in your footer. As for my users having to pay ~$3 for an app that lets them see thousands of forums I have hard time feeling bad for them after they probably spent $500 on an iPhone or Android + $30+ a month on a data plan and god knows what on actual phone minutes... Someone has to pay for this app after all... If you want you can buy a branded version for your site and give it away free to your users- but it's an expensive investment.

So you can pay for your users or they can pay themselves- no one was going to make an app this big for free- hell it costs hundreds of dollars just to list an app in apple and google's stores to begin with.

Not really excited about promoting a app that leads my members off to "thousands of forums"

If they have a web browser they can access millions of forums right now... a mobile app that limits it to 8000 or so isn't all that bad...

Dadgumit, I feel kinda stupid for doing it but when I updated I downloaded the file from this topic and messed up my install, I have found my error ad fixed it, but perhaps this post should be modified to reflect the need to go to the tat website for the latest version. or upload it here.

My biggest gripe with Tapatalk right now is the option in settings to allow users to turn off the banner ads... I mean, really- you tell us we can put in a basic banner ad, but then you let users just turn it off anyway? I guess that's the trade-off being the users buying your app are your "customers" not the forum owners... but it still beats having to pay hundreds of dollars or more for the vBulletin app that isn't even released yet.

I just uninstalled. I don't see the point of this app anymore. Especially when we make them money and get nothing back from it.

We do get back... we get users and traffic we wouldn't otherwise have. Even if the person using tapatalk doesn't see our ads if they make a post or a thread everyone else who replies to that post is probably using a regular computer/browser and it means more traffic and ad revenue then we'd otherwise have.

Not sure what you mean about your comment, I have found tapatalk very helpful in getting additional traffic to my site that otherwise I would have to wait to be in front of a pc. Yes Tapatalk is making money on the app but they are actively making feature advancements fixes and R&D all of this needs to be accounted for. Like any other product that is actively supported you pay for the time and efforts for development and support so I think your shooting yourself in the foot by not providing your members with the flexibility of mobile access to your site. Remember this is the years of technology and most people are getting with the game of social networking and the ability to utilize mobile access rather then being in front of a PC so at least for me on the go access is very important.

Now I will say that if Tapatalk proceeds with the direction to charge for moderation functions like they plan too, this will be the death of this app !

yep exactly, some of my most vibrant and popular users have increased there postings since I installed this. the addicts that would check in via mobile are what drives the forum.

By default tapatalk not support this mod vS-Hide Hack Resurrection.
So posts that have to be visible only for specific users - visible for all users.
That is the fix =)

I think that it will not conflict with other functions. But if HIDE mod is not installed - it will be an error while trying to execute HIDE specific functions, so i think there must be additional checking - is HIDE mod (Product) installed?...

ive installed the app for a vew weeks and there is a error - some pictures in my forum will not display on apple ect.
I wrote my problems into the support forum from tapatalk and the help is - zero.
There a no answers and there are no solution from tapatalk - im not satisfied with the service and im not satisfied with tapatalk

It seems the website (www.tapatalk.com) was hacked, hopefully there isn't any damage. Does it affect how the app works if the site is down?

We are bringing the server up as we speak.. recent EC2 outage affecting a lot of Amazon folks :D

And no the app does not rely on our server, it only need it for initial forum entry lookup.
